@@mr_dndScrapping Iradiant Pearls isn't really an option. Sure you can technically still do it, but losing out on a lot of its other benefits is rough.
I love Egocentrism. Its an item you take once every 100 runs knowing that it'll be 100% of the purpose of the run, hoping it doesn't take all your movement speed items. And then you're satisfied enough to not take it again for the next 99 runs.
I once got egocentrism on merc. Turned them all into pearls. Got a newly hatched zoea (do you know how rare that is without command?) And ended up with like 80-90 void enemies fighting for me.
I will say that my friend absolutely LOVES doing a build with stone flux, esp as mul t. He stacked it so his health was 20000+ and just used 3-5 wax quails as movement. Basically bypassed the need for hooves and drinks. He was the only one who survived our run, even survived a pizza attack from mithrix
Purity is fun, but only powerful if you know how and when to fit it into your build. A few of my friends tend to pick it up without much thought, then wonder why they deal so little damage. At least 5 times I’ve watched these friends stack purity on mercenary with eviscerate, then be relegated to the role of immortal mosquito.
The best use for Purity, in my opinion, is playing Acrid on Co-op. I just leave all of the proc related items for my friends, and become a jumping poison machine. Basically no damage loss for Acrid, and a HUGE damage boost for my friends, because they are stacking so many proc items. Best part is that the venom spit on M2 looses all cooldown, so ou can finally spam it on those pesky flying monsters.
The fact that several of these "worst" items are still quite powerful really shows just how insane most lunar items are, especially when played around properly

If you don't convert the entire stack, and only pick up the pearls, leaving the irradiant pearls on the ground, you can eventually convert your entire inventory (except the last one, no guarantees) into irradiant pearls. It just completely blows out the clock.
Stoneflux's description leaves out crucial info. It should read "Double your health. Half your speed. Reduce your traction". That last bit is what ironically turns this into a movespeed item on loader. You can use it to slide across the map at mach 10 by maintianing your momentum.
This is why Wax Quails are so good with it too, since they act as a static boost rather than a movement speed buff, letting you slide much farther off of one Quail-jump
Egocentrism is a beautifully designed item that puts the value of items in Ror2 through a unique perspective, an effect unlike anything else the game has to offer. And of course, with enough items, ego statistically has ZERO downside. It's just hard damage, that scales in range, frequency, and even more damage. And of course, cleansing pools are a thing. And because of those, ego is just a win win like 99% of the time. I have a hard time seeing why anyone could consider it NOT in the top 10 (at the very least) of the best items in the game. even for stationary turrets the visions of heresy is a straight up damage upgrade. Purity is a great matchup with it if you get a clover to counter it. But given the unlikelihood of that happening, alien heads and brainstalks are amazing.
Nano Spear Artificer is basically unaffected by Light Flux's downside. A base-charged spear can still freeze enemies and proc bands; even one backup mag with LFP lets you attack nonstop on a character hampered by her cooldowns.
I really do like Lightflux on Artificer, because even if ice spear takes a while to charge, sometimes the longer charge lets me hold onto it for longer and more carefully consider which enemy to chuck it at. And it still has good damage only briefly charged. Small con for the pros of being able to let off 12 or so flame orbs quickly. It does also affect the ice wall casting time but you can sprint cancel that anyway
I played a multiplayer game with an Engineer that actually made Stone Flux Pauldron look good. They were running it with Bungus turrets (of course) to increase the healing their turrets were outputting, then using Volcanic Egg to move around. Mind you, this was a Command run, so they were giving themself everything they needed to support this playstyle; but I couldn't help but watch them cook and feel impressed with what people come up with in this game.
notable meme build is light flux stacking on merc. you pick up an attacking active item (sawblade is best for this purpose imo), take a few light flux with legitimately obtained lunar coins, and you take eviscerate. you will never ever have a hurtbox on the map when you fight enemies with this build, making you literally unkillable.
As someone who does a lot of Simulacrum runs, I'd be interested in your item tiering with that in mind. For example, looping and final bosses are irrelevant and while scrappers/printers do exist, you have limited (sometimes time-limited) access to them and instead are often choosing an item with two other choices to compare against. My personal goal is to get to wave 60-80 with each attempt as there's a mod that lets you end your run for lunar coins at those points. The same mod adds a TON of additional worthwhile content to Simulacrum which would be stale without it.
I've found one good use for egocentrism, and that's with artifact of swarms, and artifact of sacrifice. WIth those two active, you're usually getting enough items, especially late game, to counteract egocentrism, and if you don't want to spend all your money on lunar items, it's a pretty good way to get a bunch of lunar items to turn into pearls. Once I did that, and I found the zeta bug, whatever it's called, and it turned all my pearls into void monsters, but there was so much damage I was fine, and I finished out my run by killing the Voidling.
The ONLY real noteworthy thing about Strides of Heresy, is that it completely removes your hitbox for Shadowfade's duration. Which means that not even the Void Capture attacks that the Void Reaver/Jailer/Devastator use on death will hit you if you Shadowfade. At least, from my experience with the reavers pre-DLC. Can't begin to count how many bird runs were saved because of that.
Stone flux is great for loader since she still has amazing mobility with her secondary and utility. I always grab atleast 1 with loader. Also a great way to increase survivability in late stages where you are uncomfortably fast.
Strides of heresy is goated on anybody with an even remotely bad movement skill. Invincibility, flight, and healing isnt just good on paper, and it gets even better off paper with afterburner
@justcallmejoe9270 Three of them will give you enough i-frames to completely regenerate your health and shields. Really good when you have Plasma Shrimp and ICBM.

Egocentrism sucks cause it takes over your run, once you use it once, that's it. Combos and synergies are impossible, except for equipment. It's ok if your run absolutely sucks, but that is so damn rare.
Im almost positive the flux pauldrons are made for deep loopers who have 500× move and attack speed and need somethig to slow them down without scrapping items.
I think it would be awesome to see guides for individual survivors. I know there are a ton out there but most of them blow and don’t really cover much other than just reading off their abilities.
11:40 I don't know if anyone's pointed this out but Acrid can currently sprint between melee strikes and his attack speed becomes as fast as you can mash both
I may be wrong but doesn’t clover and purity also effect chance for enemy effects to proc, with purity increasing the chance and clover decreasing the chance.
Literally every single content creator about every single game state that mobility is the best defensive stat, I genuinely don't know what rock you'd have to live under to not stumble into a dude saying that dodging is the best skill to have in a given game.
It also might partially be because speed doesn't perfectly correlate to damage mitigation. Too much speed and you run into new reasons as to why you can't dodge attacks, and the value of speed decreases the better you get at dodging, which is kind of counterintuitive since a bad player won't be helped much by speed either.
As a stoneflux enjoyer, its best with characters like loader and railgunner who have alternate methods of moving fast that arent effected by movement speed, such as grapple or knockback.
5:01 while having the range for loader is good, you lose out on your best weapon, your fist, which gives you over heal (I think that's what it is called) every time you attack an enemy.
I was doing a big looped run with a friend of mine and I had ended up with a gesture blast shower bands build. Once we got tired of the run (we got all the aspects) we went back to the bazaar and I took a meteorite to troll him. Because I had polylutes and a ton of gestures/fuel cells, the meteorites killed him through the 50+ stacks of safer spaces he had printed across 4 printers. I died too once I landed to try and leave the bazaar (was Loader)
@@Xeconis I wasn't being rude, it just really surprised me since they are literally like 1/4000 chance or lower. Even with luck enhancements, it is crazy to get "all of them" on one, single run

Light flux is actually amazing on bandit, his movement ability goes from helpful to permanent invisible, extra speed and ability to fly, it's crazy good and not a way I expected to see bandit played at all, super fun though
Glowing meteorite is the best lunar in multiplayer. There's NOTHING as fun as silently activating it and hearing your friend say "why is it getting dark" right before being slammed by meteors
To prevent spoils for people looking at the comment section before seeing the whole video VVVV I still won't get putting Stoneflux at #1 when something like Lightflux barely works on most characters while technically every character in the game moving at Mach 7 with 30 Goat Hooves and 10 Energy Drinks can have 1 Stoneflux and get pulled back to reasonable levels and you get double your max health which under other certain circumstances helps even more(Any %Heal is stronger, Gold Barriers are larger if you can manage filling it, general survivability with barely any downside besides stacking it more to actually hit a point where you're too slow to dodge) for you. Its definitely horrid if you just pick it up as your second item in a run but its not really built for it being a casual item, its a self-imposed throttle with a benefit attached.
For new content ideas, I would love tips & tricks for specific scenarios. For example, I always struggle to avoid the Stone Titan teleport boss’s laser beam attack. A video addressing how to overcome this would be great.
Shout out to light flux on merc using Focussed Assault + Slicing Winds. 3x pauldron turns you into a helicopter raining down constant winds, and even though the wind up for focussed assault is long, you are invincible for the whole animation.
I like going silly mode on bandit with desperado with command, 2 purities, and a shit ton of lysate cells, and a few clovers if I want to actual proc stuff.
stoneflux and lighflux are actually good on seeker because the souljourn doesn't scale with movement speed and it lasts longer from the increased health
You forgot that egocentrism transforms ALL items into itself, including keys from the artifact challenge, and in there the time doesnt advance AND they respawn infinitely if you dont start it. You could theoretically leave your pc running overnight and come back to around 720 egocentrisms, meaning you spawn an around a googolplex of orbs every second (or your game crashes)
i remember picking up a stone flux in my 2nd game cause it looked like a mask and was cool and then suddenly i was so slow and i just could not figure out what happened XD i died the very next stage
When you get all the heresy items at the same time you turn into the heretic, and there are unwritten upgrades to her skills. Shadowfade can be cancelled at will or it could also be extended in exchange for leeching health.
Stone Flux Pauldron is actually THE best item on a modded character called The Seamstress. She doesn't use speed as her primary way of movement is blinking and extra health is extremely important on her.
Stone Flux Pauldron is the only health item that scales multiplicatively which makes it perfect for a N'kuhana's Opinion build. Grab some Infusions, and few Weeping Fungus, and a few red whips to negate the speed penalty and you become effectively immortal. By the time I got to the Voidling, I had health pool of 20,000+ with each skull dealing 25% of my health pool. You can just walk at bosses and they die instantly.
Every time I see it or hear about it, I always think that Visions of Heresy is just a Halo needler. The purple shards, the tracking, the magazine size, the reload. It's just a needler, hands down.
I do particularly like stone pauldron on loop because it slows down a character that I find way too fast and also counters the side effect of shaped glass. Getting it too early is def a run killer tho.
I've been playing Risk of Rain 2 for a few days now and the first two lunar items I've gotten were stone flux pauldron and egocentrism. I was just waiting for stone flux to get eaten so I could continue playing. Good to hear the rest of the lunar items aren't as bad.
only thing about lightflux: it completely breaks merc. Because merc's moves have I-frames, by making his animations longer, you get all of that extra time, all into I-frames, basically making you immortal, as you can now just spam his I-frame moves as much as you want and just never be hit ever again
Video idea: Monocolor Challenge Turn on artifact of command, and try to beat the game but you only get to stack one type of item for every color. For example - a commando might want Tri-Tips (white), leeches (green), Antlers (red), draconic egg (orange), and wunguses (purple). You can stack these all you want, but you should only have 1 item type for each color. I love this challenge run. I thought of it myself and I got hooked on it for months. I personally don't use lunars, but you can if you want.
im fairly sure light flux pauldron is okay on acrid for spamming caustic leap and epidemic since im pretty sure neither of them care about attack speed at all, i think the poison spit also stays pretty quick.
it's almost important to note for purity that it has less effect the higher chance you have. if you have 3 tri tip daggers and pick up 1 purity your 30% chance goes to 9%. basically kills it. on the other hand, if you have 9 tri tip daggers and pick up 1 purity your 90% chance goes to 81%. very small effect.
A friend picked up the meteor while having a build that has the equipment permanently active while also autocasting it. She killed both me and the third player before we could even leave the lunar shop.
Stone Flux Pauldron is surprisingly very effective on REX! Allowed me to survive a 5x crowbar Void Fields and beat Planetarium the first time I went into it. Though I admit that it was scary getting chased by the Void Jailers' implosion orbs. Nothing a good ol' DIRECTIVE: Disperse can't fix though.
Stone flux is good if you hit the alignment shrine and turn all your whites into goat hooves, making the game unplayable by the overwhelming speed you have and becoming uncontrollable. In that case cutting your speed in half is actually quite nice since you can play the game again.

@@ceddavis7441 the pearls doe
@@ThunderShock7 but I do not like the pearls. They're boring.
Im almost positive the flux pauldrons are made for deep loopers who have 500× move and attack speed and need somethig to slow them down without scrapping items.
Technically Sticky Bombs should’ve been included in the guaranteed proc section, although that’s far more rare.
I think it would be awesome to see guides for individual survivors. I know there are a ton out there but most of them blow and don’t really cover much other than just reading off their abilities.
It's crazy how a lot of these decisions change in simulacrum
The only use for stone flux I've found is when you have too many movement items
Glowing Meteorite is even worse because it has falloff, so it only does the full damage if it hits YOU and it can't hit flying enemies
Love purity! Can even work as a pillar skip on some survivors with just 1
purity is so fun because i almost never go for proc builds as its just a good time
Very few people in any game community recognize speed as damage mitigation. Much respect.
Too much speed and you run into new reasons as to why you can't dodge attacks, and the value of speed decreases the better you get at dodging, which is kind of counterintuitive since a bad player won't be helped much by speed either.
stone flux is good only after you take 20 hoofs and have too much speed to manuver correctly
12:08 I liked this item because it was random quirky fun….. until the day I lost my well earned hard light afterburner.
that egocentrism slander hurt my soul
As a stoneflux enjoyer, its best with characters like loader and railgunner who have alternate methods of moving fast that arent effected by movement speed, such as grapple or knockback.
Cap, no one enjoys stoneflux 😂
However, with stacking pauldron you can pick mul-t and become an immortal snail
Stoneflux is great if you're flying off the stage when you press w into a slope. But that is very late game
5:01 while having the range for loader is good, you lose out on your best weapon, your fist, which gives you over heal (I think that's what it is called) every time you attack an enemy.
0:13 silly old man blurred the gameplay because he meant to put an edit there then forgot
Yeah lol
I was doing a big looped run with a friend of mine and I had ended up with a gesture blast shower bands build. Once we got tired of the run (we got all the aspects) we went back to the bazaar and I took a meteorite to troll him.
Because I had polylutes and a ton of gestures/fuel cells, the meteorites killed him through the 50+ stacks of safer spaces he had printed across 4 printers. I died too once I landed to try and leave the bazaar (was Loader)
What do you mean you _got ALL the aspects_ ???? That's insane do you mean the Elite things?
@@crangejo Yes? What else would I mean? Their drops are affected by luck, btw
@@Xeconis I wasn't being rude, it just really surprised me since they are literally like 1/4000 chance or lower. Even with luck enhancements, it is crazy to get "all of them" on one, single run
@@crangejo With stacked clovers, they show up more often than you'd expect, especially considering the increasing enemy credits and higher density of elites when looping.
"I don't know ho many more of thee I'm going to do, there's not a lot left to talk about"
For the LOVE of GOD PLEASE acknowledge us Returns enjoyers and make like idk a red or equipment ranking for it
Light flux is actually amazing on bandit, his movement ability goes from helpful to permanent invisible, extra speed and ability to fly, it's crazy good and not a way I expected to see bandit played at all, super fun though
Glowing meteorite is the best lunar in multiplayer. There's NOTHING as fun as silently activating it and hearing your friend say "why is it getting dark" right before being slammed by meteors
To prevent spoils for people looking at the comment section before seeing the whole video VVVV
I still won't get putting Stoneflux at #1 when something like Lightflux barely works on most characters while technically every character in the game moving at Mach 7 with 30 Goat Hooves and 10 Energy Drinks can have 1 Stoneflux and get pulled back to reasonable levels and you get double your max health which under other certain circumstances helps even more(Any %Heal is stronger, Gold Barriers are larger if you can manage filling it, general survivability with barely any downside besides stacking it more to actually hit a point where you're too slow to dodge) for you.
Man dispute I always get so excited seeing a new vid. Don’t know how u do it but it’s amazing
I like going silly mode on bandit with desperado with command, 2 purities, and a shit ton of lysate cells, and a few clovers if I want to actual proc stuff.
One thing about strides of heresy as well is that shadowfade doesn’t feel right on heretic as well it just feels wrong in a way
stoneflux and lighflux are actually good on seeker because the souljourn doesn't scale with movement speed and it lasts longer from the increased health
Defiant Gouge is insanely fun imo just cause I love stacking it to force my PC to start chugging due to enemy density in late game runs lmao
You forgot that egocentrism transforms ALL items into itself, including keys from the artifact challenge, and in there the time doesnt advance AND they respawn infinitely if you dont start it. You could theoretically leave your pc running overnight and come back to around 720 egocentrisms, meaning you spawn an around a googolplex of orbs every second (or your game crashes)
i remember picking up a stone flux in my 2nd game cause it looked like a mask and was cool and then suddenly i was so slow and i just could not figure out what happened XD
i died the very next stage
When you get all the heresy items at the same time you turn into the heretic, and there are unwritten upgrades to her skills. Shadowfade can be cancelled at will or it could also be extended in exchange for leeching health.
Stone Flux Pauldron is actually THE best item on a modded character called The Seamstress. She doesn't use speed as her primary way of movement is blinking and extra health is extremely important on her.
gouge is really funny when you have artifact of sacrifice enabled
Is Effigy not bad enough to make this list? I always see it as a self cripple and not much else.
But what if. You crippled your enemies
@@crangejo It has been 24 hours since I made that comment, now realizing I have completely forgotten how effigy works
What's the music that starts at about 3:14?
Pi
I would do anything for reduced skill cooldowns,
but I won’t do that.
7:05 its very funny though, like it is pretty much jokes, fr fr on god. Coop with this is a hillarious laugh out loud
I feel like the only reason i pick up egocentrism is for pearls lol
I do particularly like stone pauldron on loop because it slows down a character that I find way too fast and also counters the side effect of shaped glass.
Getting it too early is def a run killer tho.
Stone flux pauldron is nowhere near a good item, but I regularly pick it up on double powersaw MUL-T because I'm some sort of freak ig
Now hear me out, An Ungodly amount of Stone Flux with double Nail Gun Multi.
It's OP, trust.
Video idea:
Monocolor Challenge
Turn on artifact of command, and try to beat the game but you only get to stack one type of item for every color.
Stone Flux is actually really good when you are in loop 4 and you cannot control your character anymore.
I'd like to see more "risk of rain 2 is an esport" videos, they're how I got into watching the races and I absolutely love them.
A friend picked up the meteor while having a build that has the equipment permanently active while also autocasting it.
She killed both me and the third player before we could even leave the lunar shop.
this video aged well with false son
Spamming the bazinga out of my abilities rn
Straight up spamming it right now. And by it I mean. Bazoinga
didnt realize this was a worst lunar items and was VERY confused the entire video
Have you ever thought about making a video on the top 10 most dangerous items for enemies to pick up in the void fields?
