People talk a lot about gws terrible practices, the prices, the ip stuff, the regional pricing stuff. But the worst thing I think is something they've done basically with nobody complaining about it is completely scrub any and all crediting from the sculptors and the rules writers, aka the people who actually do the stuff that is why you have ever heard of games workshop at all. All these wonderful people who are these legendary figures in our hobby now, so many people now carry on their incredible work completely anonymously, locked behind ironclad ndas that forbid them from even doing the simple basic thing of taking a thing they made and saying "I made this." Any time the work that someone does becomes so invaluable, so acclaimed and their compensation so completely disconnected from the value of their labor then the people who make their living only by owning an idea rather than ever contributing anything to it have to entirely alienate them from the people who love their work.
I do think it's bad that sculptors aren't credited, but I think it also represents a change in the way the process is done. With 3d computer modelling, modern workflows, iterations, etc. it becomes harder to point to a single model and be like "X sculpted this" because it's more like "12 people contributed to these 10 models." Becomes especially difficult with the reuse of assets for the sake of consistency, etc. Compare this to "The perry twins sculpted the entire Chaos dwarf range, etc." That said... it would be nice to have credits! There's definitely different teams that work on different projects. And you can tell that some sculptors that were working on fringe products a few years ago are now making some of the core range (Warhammer Underworlds seems to be a place where younger sculptors get to experiment more with more unique models - some of that style has made its way more into Age of Sigmar now).
The main reason GW’s setting captured our hearts was because the writing, the art, and the actual models all oozed theme. Trish is a legend and made a generation of gamers and hobbyists feel a joy of life!
What an absolute master of her craft. We rarely hear about her ground-breaking work she did for us all. Thank you for giving her another opportunity to remind us all how amazing she is!
Marauder were a lot better than GW at the time. Their ogres, black orcs and of course the giant were some of the best sculpts ever. Trish's work, even though I didn't know her name at the time, was among my favourite in all the miniatures available as a teenager.
Trish is frankly a national treasure, the joy her sculpts have given me over the years and how much I owe to her and the other sculptors and writers I will always struggle to put into words.
It is incredibly rewarding to look at a something on your desk and hear the creator speak about it right as see it. Likewise it is fascinating to see the work of an artist evolve and see what decades of a craft really looks like.
Awwww, I was hoping to see and hear something of the Tyranid Dimachaeron which is still one of my absolute favourite models and unit designs to this day. I think that I briefly met Trish at the GW/FW Open Day when that was debuted and I have a feeling that I was one of the first people to walk out of WHW with one. She was kind and very courteous with her time and a joy to talk to. This was a great vid, thank you FM & MG :]
This was a fascinating interview. I also heard about Jes Goodwin and the Perry Brothers, but I’d never really heard Trish’s part in things. I definitely had no idea she made the Troll Hag, one of my favourite minis that I’m happy to see coming back soon.
What a legend! Trish's new tree dragon for footsore is absolutely stunning too! Also very pleased to see I have identical hobby storage to one of the great scultpors of our hobby :D
awesome video. I loved it when Trish talked about about Creating her own world. you can hear the excitement hahah. That Is exactly the reason i create my art. Nothing more pure and genuine then that!! :) i hope to see more videos like this in the future. its great to see the people behind the miniatures that we grew up with
Words can't describe how amazing these videos are. My teenage years were well into 3rd edition (around the turn of the millennium) but the very first copy I ever picked up was issue 211 with the Circle of Blood cover art by the amazing Mark Gibbons (who still remains to this day one of my favourite warhammer artists) and I was deep into 2nd edition era stuff long before I even bothered to turn to 3rd ed 40k. Seeing all these people described on the pages back then has been an incredible journey (about to check out the one on Inquisitor with John Blanche and Gav Thorpe next followed by the White Dwarf one with Adrian Wood). I can't thank you guys enough for interviewing these legendary figures.
You art work shaped my imagination in many ways - I have painted so many of your works to pay my way through college. Thank you for your wonderful career Trish.
Just goes to show how much GW has changed, both good and bad. But the old stuff from FW is still my favourite models ever made! Thank you for these interviews!
What an awesome interview. Seen and painted so many of her sculptures, so interesting to hear and see her speaking about the process. Something has truly been lost in the transfer from manual to digital, but it's great to see the new work she's making.
Wow, very inspirational. Just appreciating times while they last, staying true to oneself. Big Kudos to Trish. Also just realized how many miniatures of my teenage years she sculpted
This is a great video, and I had totally forgotten just how much of Trish’s sculpts I have. the chaos beastmen, Lizardman, troglodytes. All feature in my armies to this very day.
Just brilliant. Got to meet Trish at a Warhammer World open day a few years ago when she was showcasing the dragon. I left without buying it but ordered it later the same night when I got home. Had so much fun painting and basing it. A masterpiece!
I think its funny that Trish was excited to meet Jackson while I'd be over the moon to meet her! Her treemen have never been equalled and I love her dragons, which according to my wife I own too many 😂
Much respect to all the traditional sculptors. I have always loved miniatures and statues as a younger person but being clumsy and having fat hands I never had the patience to make them until when the technology made it possible to do it digitally.
So fascinating to “meet the legends”. Somehow, over here in the States, you just feel that these people exist in an alternate universe like Tir Na N’ogg.
If the Beasts of Chaos Gors ever get a re-sculpt, they need to draw on Trish's work. Way more creative, dynamic and whimsical, which will fit well into AoS. Marvelous work!
I have Hog Man & Slug Man but never realised they were the OG Trish C27 Chaos Beastmen sculpts. Really happy to discover this! Love those nasty little blokes :)
not only is she a good sculptor but she a lot of fun to play D&D with! haven't spoken in some 25 years but she was always a laugh - it was a good group generally. So if ya read this i hope your well.
Wonderful interview. Again. This series is a great one for insights into GW, the games, and minis, the whole thing. Marauder miniatures! whoa. That was still a thing when I started building my High Elf army. Been maybe 20 years since I last played, but I've still got the High Elf lord on dragon somewhere.
GW and Forgeworld need to get their act together and Trish back on board! Monstrous Arcanum was never finished and with The Old World, now is the time! Bring on the Khemric Titan!
Commenting to stay on Trish RUclips 😍
Me too man, me too

Do remember the reason why they stopped crediting rules writers was literal death threats. (agree on crediting all their artists though).

The Treemen Trish sculpted have never been bettered in my opinion. Wonderful miniatures.
Great shout, I'm also very partial to her stone trolls, dragon ogres and minotaur lord 😍😍

This is a treat! Trish is such a legend. Her work has been an inspiration since I first fell in love with Warhammer in the 90s :)
Yes!!! Love to see love for Trish!
It’s always so great to see this kind of oral history being preserved. I love the passion each of your interviewees brings to the videos!!
Great interview. Love the troll hag! What a lovely person Trish is, and an excellent sense of fun.
It is incredibly rewarding to look at a something on your desk and hear the creator speak about it right as see it. Likewise it is fascinating to see the work of an artist evolve and see what decades of a craft really looks like.
You're spoiling us with all this interesting content 👍
Trish has made some of my favorite old prints. Some of the old metal ones that i have inherited from my own dad. Cool as hell minis.
Awwww, I was hoping to see and hear something of the Tyranid Dimachaeron which is still one of my absolute favourite models and unit designs to this day. Amazing interview, that dragon at 0:33 is the stuff of legends.
What a legend! Trish's new tree dragon for footsore is absolutely stunning too! Also very pleased to see I have identical hobby storage to one of the great scultpors of our hobby :D
That was brilliant! The old marauder range I think is my favourite thing ever done by GW, had some many of the orcs and goblins back in the day.
Great recording and great conversation! Lovely to listen to, I could hear these stories for hours, honestly.
Wow, thank you RUclips algorithm!! This was a massive blast from the past. Jeez, so many of the things covered I remember or owned!
Glad you enjoyed it! Please do check out my other vids covering this kind of stuff!
Wow she must be the coolest grandmother ever what a legacy to inherit.
I have a special place in my heart for Trish’s stuff, it was amazing. Really, really grand.
Absolutely eyeopening interview. So inspiring to watch and I really love Trishes art!
Charming woman, and wonderful bit of insight on how things used to be in GW's earliest days.
awesome video. I loved it when Trish talked about about Creating her own world. you can hear the excitement hahah. That Is exactly the reason i create my art. I had the Treeman! I feel so lucky to get to hear Trish talk about such amazing, weird and wonderful times bygone...
You art work shaped my imagination in many ways - I have painted so many of your works to pay my way through college. Thank you for your wonderful career Trish.
That is such a wonderful interview! Trish is a delight to listen to. Thanks so much for this!
A lot of the Marauder Miniatures range hold up well today, i love the Dwarf and Chaos Dwarf range as well as the Orcs/Gobbos and incredible GIANT
Thank you grandma for your amazing contribution to warhammer
Always such a pleasure to hear from Trish!
Love the ‘96 Great Unclean One!
Just goes to show how much GW has changed, both good and bad. But the old stuff from FW is still my favourite models ever made! Thank you for these interviews!
This content is amazing, thanks so much for taking the time to develop these videos with GW legends.
Fantastic to see the people behind the magic that was OOP lead minis! And plenty of snapshots to boot. Thankyou.
Trish makes such amazing sculpts, and I still have several models from her GW efforts!
She sculpted so many of my favourite models as a kid. Slowly collecting them now I’m back in the hobby as an adult
Troll Hag is my favorite model of all time. Shes a beaut!
What an inspiring story 💜
This was just wonderful.
She’s so awesome! I love her work she’s mad talented ❤
What an awesome interview. Seen and painted so many of her sculptures, so interesting to hear and see her speaking about the process. Something has truly been lost in the transfer from manual to digital, but it's great to see the new work she's making.
I missed out on the Marauder orc shaman on wyvern when I was young and I'm so happy it's coming back.
SAME
What a lovely human being. This clip was a delight to listen to.
Such amazing models. The troll hag... the dread saurian... very cool.
What a legend, what an amazing sculptor
I adore her sculpts honestly. everything she does has so much soul in it.
And the Marauder Miniatures was some of the best miniatures ever sculped 😊
Such a great interview! Loved to hear Trish' stories. So many amazing miniatures
the river troll hag is one of my favorite sculpts of all the ranges.
Wow, very inspirational. Just appreciating times while they last, staying true to oneself. Big Kudos to Trish. Also just realized how many miniatures of my teenage years she sculpted
Fantastic interview, loved hearing her insights and stories. I feel like given her record she is more The Queen of Monsters at this point!
Lovely interview - I was struck by the fondness Trish shows when she speaks of all the folks she's worked alongside
Liaising to placebo and making dark elves. Sounds familiar.
Same, pretty sure that's how I spent the latter half of the nineties.
Thank you for this! A lot of nostalgia for me :)
This is a great video, and I had totally forgotten just how much of Trish’s sculpts I have. the chaos beastmen, Lizardman, troglodytes. All feature in my armies to this very day.
And the freemen! In my Wood Elf blood bowl teams…
I love Trish's style. And its great to hear her speak about her process for sculpting as well. She is one of the greatest!
Just brilliant. Got to meet Trish at a Warhammer World open day a few years ago when she was showcasing the dragon. I left without buying it but ordered it later the same night when I got home. Had so much fun painting and basing it. A masterpiece!

Absolute legend.

Man I wish GW kept the old resin sculpts around. Always wanted a merwyrm
What a great interview, she has such an impressive portfolio
Very nice interview from one of the best miniature artist!!!!
Awesome, some classic sculpts :). Really good to see another sculptor along with the perry twins :)
So enjoyed this interview with Trish.
👍👍 great interview
I have Hog Man & Slug Man but never realised they were the OG Trish C27 Chaos Beastmen sculpts. Really happy to discover this! Love those nasty little blokes :)
Fantastic video! So much fun to hear Trish tell stories about the old GW days!
Epic stuff... I had the original Chaos Beastmen, sadly lost now save for two of them :(...
Love this! Glimpsing behind the scenes of some seriously iconic sculpts is especially wonderful.
What a fantastic interview! Could happily listened twice as long
That FW era was peak FW. They made some beautiful stuff that we sadly can’t buy anymore, due to New Management chasing the Marine Money
Luckily some of it, like the Troll Hag, will be coming back with The Old World.
Trish did the Manticore and Troll Hag? I've got that manticore sitting on the shelf behind me - lovely model, holds up so well!
not only is she a good sculptor but she a lot of fun to play D&D with! haven't spoken in some 25 years but she was always a laugh - it was a good group generally.
So if ya read this i hope your well.
Thanks for this interview!
Great video. She is a joy to listen to and a fantastic artist, thanks for sharing
great interview

Wow, thank you for your work! :)
Thanks a lot for this video. I loved everything about it.
A true legend
Beautiful conversation and magnificent artist. Thank you both for sharing this ^^
