This is kick ass and what's better is it's not even the best tune on the CD. Top to bottom one of the best CDs I've ever owned and I've owned a LOT over the years.
Shit Song? Lol and when was the last time "You" where on the Artie Lang show? LOL.. Honestly, these guys musicianship (remember they are a fucking three piece!!!!) is in the caliber of Cream! Fuck they are good! For shit sakes Portnoy's kit looks to be a 7 piece! And sounds a lot like Ginger Baker! Great band!
Take all the Portnoy complaints to the Portnoy Hate Club site... Guys, get over it! Portnoy and Mangini are both awesome, kick-ass drummers! I,m sick of this debate! ANYWAY... Back to WD - Looking good! Can't wait to see these guys live!
Mike Portnoy looking and sounding like he did in DT is a GREAT thing. Speaks very highly of him. It means he has a very defined personality, which most musicians don't have, especially being a drummer. It means you can hear MP and knowing immediately it's MP. Not many people can do that. Guys like Paul McCartney or Slash CAN, and their careers turned out fine. You hear Mike Mangini and can confuse it with a clock or a robot. But that's not a bad thing either. Just not as great a quality as MP's
Do you know anything about MP? He didnt leave DT for "this", he left DT because of timings. He needed a break from DT, the other guys didnt. I think The Winery Dogs are a breathe of old air made fresh. MP has gone on to do some amazing things since leaving DT and being a die hard fan i thought it was the end of the world but having listened to some of his new projects, i wouldn't say i was glad but they wouldn't of happened if he hadn't left when he did.
I actually LOVE that DT aren't a pure technical or even a fusion band, which almost every drummer you mentioned has played in at a point in their lives. I love that they have pop, rock, metal, folk elements, and MP, technical or not, was pure raw power. Petrucci is my favorite guitarist and musician, and he isn't even in the top 10 most technical guitarists in the world, but that doesn't mean he's not a great guitar player, cause he IS. Same with everyone else in DT, except maybe JR.
This guys are monsters... they are containing the whole time in this band. Im glad they decided to make simple good old rock and roll, theres a lot of progressive these days. I love progressive! But this song kicks asses imho
The only thing that sucks about this video is the director and cameraman focused on Ritchie Kotzen when Billy Sheehan was going off and Kotzen wasn't doing any thing. THAT SUCKED
I respect your opinion, please don't doubt that... It's just that in music, to me, personality and creativity are more important than technique. I agree that they're all great drummers, Phillips, Bissonette, Donati, and Colaiuta are legends, Weckl is AMAZING... The one I like the least is Mangini, cause for me he doesn't have a cool style and sound. DT may be pure technique to the general audience, but for me it was also about their style, which I think they lost a part of without MP...
So I'm guessing you're the kind of guy who thinks Michael Angelo Batio is a better guitar player than Yngwie, Eddie van Halen, Gilmour, or even Slash... Technique over style, creativity, power, and musicianship. I didn't say that Mike Mangini isn't a technical, fast, and very capable drummer, cause he is. It's impressive what he can do, indeed. But MP has a far more developed sound and personality. He and JP WERE Dream Theater. His fills were a lot more original, Not to mention his presence.
lol!
Kotzen's voice sounds like a 3 way cross between Coverdale, Cornell, and Plant! High praise.....
I dig it too.
I definitely hear the Cornell-esque sounds in there. When he sounds like Cornell, he reeaallly sounds like Cornell.
Sjka Klijnstra
with a pinch of Michael Bolton
@@LRobertoG Spot on. I’ve always thought the same. It has to be said.
The Power Trio!
Sheehan´s bass line ESPECTACULAR!! GRANDIOSO!! QUE GRAN SONIDO!!! POR DIOS!!
He is totally tearing it up-and that phat unique sound.
pure mix of groove , pop rock funk and shred : Richie 's voice is amazing , soul rock n roll ; a great band !
The Other Side and I'm No Angel are definitely a highlight for me. I find myself humming those tunes at work.
great thare keeping the old soul songs alive pepole seem to forget this is whare alot of rock came from
I' hope that they'll continue to play together for a long time because their groove is amazing!
This is kick ass and what's better is it's not even the best tune on the CD. Top to bottom one of the best CDs I've ever owned and I've owned a LOT over the years.
3 musicians at the top of their game!
This deserves the Grammy.
And Richie Kotzen is An AMAZING, but highly underrated musician. And Billy is as great as always. What a fucking amazing piece of band.
I love them
Mortal... escuchándolos desde ARGENTINA,terrible recital dieron por estos lado...
Billy sounds like Billy even through a small Hartke Combo! It's in the fingers! :-)
That bass line .... o.O
Damn, that was awesome! Guess I'm getting another CD this week.
I like this band
They're great, indeed.
My two faves are I'm No Angel and We Are One.
What about the Dying and Regret?
Sheehan is a fckn beast!
right? watching him play regret is hilarious because hes so like serious and exact.
Pure awesomeness!
Is true, he is master of bass
@2:20 holy balls that was rad.
look at dat bass!!!!
real music created by real musicians
Sweet!
awesome
1:16 Sheehan rules!
lol..watching Portnoy playing this is like listening to a can am car trying to idle!... it just wants to rev!
Shit Song? Lol and when was the last time "You" where on the Artie Lang show? LOL.. Honestly, these guys musicianship (remember they are a fucking three piece!!!!) is in the caliber of Cream! Richie's live voice is amazing ....one of the best singers ever ..the guys sound great ...i do prefer the attack and clarity of a pick though!
that's rad !
Modern day SUPER TRIO !
Stupidly talented and good
Take all the Portnoy complaints to the Portnoy Hate Club site... Guys, get over it! Portnoy and Mangini are both awesome, kick-ass drummers! I,m sick of this debate! ANYWAY... Back to WD - Looking good! Can't wait to see these guys live!
It sounds like he's still playing in DT too, if you ask me :P
Considering Billy Sheehan and Ritchie Kotzen were in the Mr. Big the trio's music reminded of the old Mr. Big but with Chris Cornell on vocals lol.
good job

0:33 WTF
2:25 little short prog time!
This guys are monsters... they are containing the whole time in this band. Im glad they decided to make simple good old rock and roll, theres a lot of progressive these days. I love progressive! But this song kicks asses imho
Kotzen MAESTRO!!!!!!
Believe he's playing through the Supersonic sitting next to the machete stack.
three great musicians but songs already heards in 70's....
Portnoy em uma bateria pequena. Raridade.
cool band. ı thınk guıtar solo is better than the album version
The only thing that sucks about this video is the director and cameraman focused on Ritchie Kotzen when Billy Sheehan was going off and Kotzen wasn't doing any thing. THAT SUCKED
that bass = sex
Ritchie Kotzen tá parecendo o Lobão. Ele é o Lobão americano!
at this stage of Portnoy's life i dont think he will do something that he doesnt have a good time with. its probably a breath of fresh air!
Funny how Portnoy moved on from DT and has released so many various types of music but he still looks like he's in DT.
This is Richie Kotzen?
yes sir
I respect your opinion, please don't doubt that... It's just that in music, to me, personality and creativity are more important than technique. Is Richie using a fender Machete?
Billy Sheehans great but I wish he would get a better tone. Pretty decent project for these guys
suenan del carajo
Sounds like Chris Cornell filling in with Mr. Big
I dunno, man...looks like he's havin' a good time. :-)
R.E.D
jajaa
sound out of sync?
So I'm guessing you're the kind of guy who thinks Michael Angelo Batio is a better guitar player than Yngwie, Eddie van Halen, Gilmour, or even Slash... I'm big fan of kotzen, but the guitar tone on this one kinda crap. But the winery dogs album is amazing.
Al principio eran una buena banda luego te das cuenta que todas las canciones suenan exactamente igual
Weird seeing Portnoy on such a small kit
Richie looks like Jeffrey Dean Morgan here
portnoy with the fucking crashes. Love him as a drummer, but he should go to the school of Steve Jordan and learn a thing...
Absurdly talented musicians, but very mediocre song. Much like Chickenfoot
I hear ya on the Chickenfoot comparison. Unfortunately mediocrity appeals to most more than something that is amazing.
I was thinking the exact same thing!
Awesome players... so-so songs
Don't judge the band by this one song. Check out Time Machine or The Dying. Great tunes...and great Cd
chickenfoot was a terrible excuse for music
Kim Cornell That's exactly my opinion. I don't like their songs a lot. No catchy hooks and boring refrains.
Counter melody shit...puhleeeeeeze
lol!
What a dead crowd
Eh Mike,c'est pour jouer cette merde que tu as quitté DT?
Boring drum
