It was genius edit putting the scene of Bongseok's mom tried to save her kid from Frank right before Frank's mom abandoned her kid so we felt more bad for Frank. The writer tried making us to feel more for Frank in the drama not to make him look as one coloured villain.
I guess the reason that frank says his name is 'Iowa' is cause that all korean agents use their code-name as where they come from so he uses 'iowa' where he was trained in the scene. He might want to be like korean agents who love their kids more than anything else, which Frank never had from his mom.
I think that’s why Frank keeps asking in anger the korean agents “why do you people keep hiding and saving your kids” when Frank killed them cause he’s never seen that from his mom so he exploded his kinda sad out of it.
In a past episode, when the NTDP agents discovered that Frank was the "cleaner", they said that his mother was korean and his father was an USA soldier stationed in Korea. So we can deduce that Las Vegas was the name of the bar where Frank's mom worked, probably near the U.S. military base. They also said that later CIA agents took Frank to the States and that's what we saw in this episode. His mother clearly didn't care for him, and that's why Frank had a personal issue when he saw parents doing everything they could to protect their children.
summer asked a few times why wouldn't the parents protect their children after hearing frank ask "you all try so hard to hide your kids, why?" hope it comes across now that its because his own mother didn't do anything to that effect. as he's faced again and again with the mutual love between parents and their children, bongpyeong burning his son's grad pic, naju refusing to tell frank about even her adopted children, mihyeon trying to disguise bongseok as a customer, gyedo attacking him while mourning, and finally him getting to really feel juwon's fatherly rage as he beat him to a pulp. i feel like he really reached some semblance of enlightenment during those last moments, like "Ah. this is what that love feels like." also note that the parents codenames are their hometowns. juwon says he's from guryongpo and his codename is guryongpo. together with the fact that the identity of "frank" was forced on him, this is why he says his name is Iowa.
We are really looking forward to everyone seeing our reactions to the "next phase" of this series storytelling. I think you all will have a great time. Thank you again for spending your time with us.

He could never understood the love of a mother protecting her children as his own mother sold her only child to the US government like a sack of potatoes. Ironically Frank learned from the very people he executed what loving your children means. Seeing Gye-Do’s father burning the picture to protect Gye-Do’s identity. Seeing Na-Ju fight so hard for the life of her daughter. Hearing Na-Ju’s adopted son speak so fond of what a great mother she was. Especially as a fellow adoptee as Frank it must have hit home. We see Frank really not enjoying his work. Every killer has some humanity left. He was just never confronted with it so much as now. When meeting Guryongpo he went back into auto-pilot but we can see how he definitely felt remorse and inner struggle. He burned himself to feel sth. He calls himself “Iowa” at the end just like the Korean agents using hometowns as codenames because he wants to have an own identity and thinks of him as them. Even if it’s just before his last breath.

One thing you will conclude of this show is that everyone is a soldier working for the politics that view them as weapons not as people. I disliked Frank at first but he is a victim also forced into this life he had no choice it was survival. He has been groomed as a weapon with no sympathy since he was a child. I thought he was being snarky when he kept asking the parents questions but it seems like it was actual curiosity, he doesn’t understand why they protect their children when his mom didn’t. We do see sympathy in Frank by letting the bus driver alive, his mission is to kill the agents on the list and their biological kids that could inherit their powers.
Now all of Frank's past has finally been revealed: his mother, who worked as a singer in a jazz club in Korea, called Las Vegas, frequented by American soldiers, had Frank from one of them, but then gave him up for adoption to a CIA agent, probably as soon as they became aware of his power. This gives us the answer as to why Frank doesn't understand why former NIS agents with superpowers protect their children: from his point of view it makes no sense, precisely because his mother got rid of him, so for him it's a alien concept. From what we see, his training was extreme, which created trauma in his growth, which is why he is restless and self-harming. In short, Frank, although a trained CIA hitman, is himself a victim in this dirty spy game between governments that mercilessly exploit people with superpowers for their own gain. Remember that Jincheon, Naju and Bongpyeong called Frank a "second string", especially Naju adding that Guryongpo would kill him? All of them were referring to Ju-won, whose code name when he worked for the NIS was Guryongpo: in practice they were telling him that he could not compete with Ju-won, that he was not at his level and in fact, we saw that in the fight (splendidly choreographed), although the two have the same powers (superstrength and regeneration), Ju-won beat him: you don't mess with those who come from Gyeongsang. We don't know if Frank is dead, having the power of regeneration, although Ju-won leaves him in the burning truck after beating him up badly. Finally, we also learn that the dream that Bong-seok kept having was not a simple dream, but a repressed memory of when he was a child who, due to his uncontrolled powers, had flown up to the sky, only to be saved by his father: Kim Doo-sik. Now there is a criticism to be made about Mi-hyun's parenting method: she tried to repress her son's powers to keep him safe. This is wrong, regardless of what it may mean psychologically, but if she had trained him as a child to control that power and use it, she wouldn't need to stuff him full of food and use weights to keep him down today. In her defense, she didn't have Doo-sik with her who could actually help him understand how to fly and how to stay on the ground, but she could have made an effort to do so. This is my opinion. The confrontation that Bong-seok has with her mother is of great impact, especially for the acting and writing which conveys to us all his frustration and her sense of guilt and fears. A great moment. Not that it needs to be stated, but there was no way that Gye-do, Bongpyeong's son, could beat Frank: Gye-do has never trained in combat, so he doesn't know how to use his power in this sense, while Frank is a very well trained hitman. Little side note: Frank didn't randomly drive and run into Ju-won. He read the store's delivery order and then followed the road to reach it, which he did. Which is remarkable, not even being a local, to be able to know so well which route to take. Furthermore, he realized that his target was the same one he had met after killing Naju only as soon as he saw him in front of the window.
@@GFD0116 true, yes, I forgot that Frank had entered the address into the navigator. However, still remarkable given that they are very narrow streets to move around so nonchalantly.
I agree that Mihyun's parenting method wasn't the best but i want clarify some things. 1. She doesn't have the flying ability so even if she wanted to teach him she simply couldn't. She could only give some advices but that's it. And actually she already tried in ep2. The scene where she was teaching him how to walk. He didn't wear the weights. But you can see that it didn't work. 2. (SPOILER) She wanted him to have a normal life(as Dooshik also wanted for him). When they all lived together in the past they had decided not to use their powers(except emergencies) and live like normal people. So Mihyun tried to raise him based on this logic. The thing is that Bongseok never wanted the normal life his parents wanted for him. I think their main problem was miscommunication. I don't think Bongseok had ever told his mom before how he felt or that he wanted to fly. And Mihyun never explained their situation to him(again bc she wanted him to have a normal life) but it was wrong. SIDE NOTE: In the webtoon there was a scene where Mihyun asked the sky (Dooshik) if she should explain everything to Bongseok now that he was all grown up. It was on the morning of the same day that they had the argument. But they didn't add it to the drama and it's sad because I think it was a very important scene. Also, they never showed how their discussion in ep7 continued and ended and it was disappointing.
Frank going around trying to figure out why he was abandoned by his mother while the ones he's been sent to kill are so fiercely protective of their own children is what made my heart break for him. He was introduced as such a bad guy but then we see that there's more to him than just being this OP assassin. This, and so many other examples later in the season, makes Moving one of the best K-dramas, hands down. 💯💯
It's getting better and better, I think the director and the script writer is not only focusing on the protagonists but also the background of the villains also.
I believe that Las Vagus club scene was in Korean war time. Cuz there are many US military base in Korea at that time. And maybe that when Frank get recruited by the US into the project🤔🤔
The drama is getting better and better every episode and so as your reactions too. I love your thoughts on this episode. I'm excited for the next reactions to come. I hope you guys do a back to back reactions of this masterpiece drama.
What a damn great drama...THE Incident, which forces The Breakthrough....Frank shown to be the victim of the Dollar Eagle colonizer....giving the new love of my life :) back the bell as a symbol that she and her son will not see it coming.... And the *real romance* is right around the corner!! Summer's gonna be *so* happy for such a *long* time....THANKS for doing this show!!!!
Frank is grey character who's doing a job and felt moved and envied by the fact ,that how everyone he kills was fighting to save their children more than them-self. It awakes the long lost pain of his mother abandoning him alone without even trying to save him!
Frank didn't kill the bus driver because he started feeling something about the parent-child relationships which he himself is deeply missing because his mother did not give him that parental love.
Like most foreign countries with US military base, there used to be a lot of bars and brothel around US base in Korea decades ago. There were many kids without a father because soldiers would just go back to US after their military tour of duty. I guess Frank's mom was too tired of protecting her son, or maybe the US military made a deal with mom that they will take him to his 'Father's' country. About 40 years ago, USA was the dream land for many ladies who worked at the red light district around the US base in Korea, and Frank's mom might believe Frank would be better off in USA with his father rather then with her (in not so good environment to raise a kid) in Korea. That is my speculation up to this point.
syntell said script system which is used to write languages like chinese. summer was correct in that korean uses an alphabet writing system like english. it takes a day or so to learn.
Finally we got the Jo insung😭 I don t think Frank is dead And I think he didn’t kill the bus driver Because he wasn’t on the list as Summer said. Frank told in last episode ‘I only do as commanded’ (not exactly😅) when he killed Naju or Bungaeman’s dad It s obvious that he s a second-string though compare to Huisoo’s dad 8:10 I really pity on Frank maybe he feels sorry to kill driver guy’s dad watching him crying and yelling Very complex character. I guess Las Vegas is club name There are several US military base in S Korea and also unique and thriving business district in that area like that kind of clubs or big big clothes stores I m very relieved that Bongseok’s mom is not killed Thank you, America!! Frank left money for king Donkasu and a bell which is held on the door
Franks character is really interesting to watch. He seems like his hand is forced in a lot of his decisions. Add to the fact that he was a child soldier or child experiment and a part of your heart feels really bad for the guy.
appa was able to fight frank bcz his self healing time was faster than frank, you can notice this in their fight that frank took more time to heal compared to dad.
After watching "Iowa" many times, there is something called "loneliness" in martial arts. It's a way to put a poisonous snake or a poisonous insect in one place and filter out the survivors. All the dead children would have been F, Frank. So did the other groups.I think it's to drive away potential capabilities.
somebody said Frank said his name is Iowa because all his life he's nothing but a tool to clean up someone else's mess and seeing and empathizing with his target (every target has a hometown as a codename) he realize that him and the others are in the same boat afterall.
The story of Icarus might come to mind w that scene of Bongseok and his dad but I doubt it’s what the writer had in mind. Icarus is a tale warning against pride and that scene in Moving seemed more just like a sweet moment between dad and son. The mythological tale of Icarus is not unknown to South Koreans but I don’t think this particular scene will bring that up for most people.
Frank isn't after the children. He wasn't ordered to kill them. He's trying to get more info on SK's training program but instead of an operation like the one he was raised in, he found loving, protective parents with untrained children.
They are not brothers in real life. Frank(류승범)'s real brother is 류승완(he is film drector. not actor). not 류승룡(actor playing juwon). they have just similar name
This show does a good job of critiquing governments that exploit their own ppl for gain rather than just villainizing the exploited individuals themselves. This theme will become more developed and pronounced near the end.
@@SummerPunchSun oh no, I thought you had one because the social icons on the intro had RUclips on your name lol. It's up to you if you want to start one.
I love this drama so much and I love all these characters. my only gripe is that I feel that the parents tried to protect their children *too* much by not telling them anything about what was going on. like, Mi-hyun obviously knows at this point that there is a danger out there and it's eventually going to come for her child but she never tells him about it or helps him to prepare for it. there's no guarantee that she'll always be around and she can't always be there to protect him; he's almost an adult and is old enough to know what's going on and learn how to control his powers; so I felt like she did him a disservice by not preparing him for what would eventually be coming. the same with Juwon. it's obvious in this episode that Juwon has training of some kind in hand-to-hand combat, and there was a reason he and Huisoo were always moving, but he never once tried to teach her to protect herself. as for Frank, he is simply a pawn in a much bigger game and I definitely feel sorry for him.
I don't think Frank asking if their children go that same school was a threat, I think he was low-key giving warning to the parents or maybe thinking that if all these children with abilities goes to the same school, they're the same as him

I think Frank said my name is Iowa, it means killed agent's code name is born country in korea(naju, jincheon, bongpyoung). becuase them protected there's children, what ever cost.
The next 8 episodes are the parents backstory part, then the final 5 episode is a follow up of that video upload incident that trigger the final showdown in between all superpower being.

I guess Frank 's mother wants Frank to live in America. Many korean thought Ameria is good for living or studying. Even she was hard to take care of kid alone. Korea was harsh and unfair about unmarried mothers and their children.
When you visit South Korea, you will experience the world's only existing Cold War zone. South Korea is an advanced country that developed while confronting a vicious communist country.

Thank you for watching with us!
i believe she already knew they would take him so wasn't even surprised so I think she sold him.
😢
I thought he didn't kill bungaeman bcoz he wasn't ordered to😅
@@blairwrelos1891I also think so. He is a hitman not a serial killer.
Next episodes are my favourites!!! Can't wait for you to watch it 😍
sameeee, I only wait for that
Me too.
We can't wait to show you all. This season is so amazing.
That is my speculation up to this point.
yeah. it's true. sadly.
syntell said script system which is used to write languages like chinese. summer was correct in that korean uses an alphabet writing system like english. it takes a day or so to learn.
i love this channel. it`s my favorite youtubers.😄😁
Thank you so much 😀
You totally made our day.
Finally we got the Jo insung😭
I don t think Frank is dead
And I think he didn’t kill the bus driver
Because he wasn’t on the list
as Summer said.
Frank told in last episode
‘I only do as commanded’ (not exactly😅)
when he killed Naju or Bungaeman’s dad
It s obvious that he s a second-string though
compare to Huisoo’s dad
8:10 I really pity on Frank
maybe he feels sorry to kill driver guy’s dad
watching him crying and yelling
Very complex character.
I guess Las Vegas is club name
There are several US military base in S Korea
and also unique and thriving business district in that area
like that kind of clubs or big big clothes stores
I m very relieved that Bongseok’s mom is not killed
Thank you, America!!
Frank left money for king Donkasu
and a bell which is held on the door
Frank didn’t die,,!
Oh snap that makes sense!
After watching "Iowa" many times, there is something called "loneliness" in martial arts. It's a way to put a poisonous snake or a poisonous insect in one place and filter out the survivors. All the dead children would have been F, Frank. So did the other groups.I think it's to drive away potential capabilities.
Thank you for the wonderful comment. We're looking forward to sharing the rest of the season with you.
somebody said Frank said his name is Iowa because all his life he's nothing but a tool to clean up someone else's mess and seeing and empathizing with his target (every target has a hometown as a codename) he realize that him and the others are in the same boat afterall.
Now it's time for some parents love story flashback. 😏❤
The first episode in that part of the sage will be out on Wednesday. Thank you for watching.
They said Frank was a second string Guryongpo, this is what they meant.
Yeah, Guryongpo is on another level. He's real op out of all of them. Death fears this man.
Guryongpo is the code name of Juwon, Huisoo's dad.
@@eatsmylifeYT I know 😉 I was not so subtly hinting
There are clearly level to these powers. Frank needs a few more upgrades.
Wait, until u see the class president PWD father, he is more badass than fried chicken vendor father...
Episode 19 will prove that...
No spoiler!..
Thank you for the insight! That scene had lot in common with the tale of Icarus but ultimately these are very different stories.
He did turn Frank's face into hamburger meat tho 🍔
Cant wait for you guys to check out the next half of the eps. :)
So goood
Frank isn't after the children. He wasn't ordered to kill them. He's trying to get more info on SK's training program but instead of an operation like the one he was raised in, he found loving, protective parents with untrained children.
Fun fact: Actors playing characters Juwon and Frank are brothers in real life.
They are not brothers in real life. Frank(류승범)'s real brother is 류승완(he is film drector. not actor). not 류승룡(actor playing juwon). they have just similar name
can't imagine will see your reactions on the last ep
just a leap of faith ❤
The training wheels are off. The crazy use of powers will start next ep. XD
This show does a good job of critiquing governments that exploit their own ppl for gain rather than just villainizing the exploited individuals themselves. This theme will become more developed and pronounced near the end.
Can't find Summer's youtube channel. I wish there was a link in the description.
Hi! I don’t have my own channel (other than for commenting). Should I start one? 🤔
I don't think Frank asking if their children go that same school was a threat, I think he was low-key giving warning to the parents or maybe thinking that if all these children with abilities goes to the same school, they're the same as him
Can't wait for the next episode ❤
Gyedo - the bus driver can read memory through object not human
Btw, really enjoy your reactions! ❤
Thank you so much for taking the time to check them out. It really means a lot.

Las Vegas=USFK..AROUND CLUB NAME IN korea...

맞게 적었나...;;;
Waiting for next episode reaction ❤
That saloon lady who can see through walls... Warned Frank that guryongpo will kill him she was mentioning huisoo's appa... And he live up to it... Beating Frank into a pulp
Guryongpo (the dad) is my favorite in this series. He’s gonna be more of a badass in the coming episodes.
Naju (The saloon lady boss) ever said to Frank that you're not that tough and Guryongpo (Fried Chicken Shop Boss) is going to kill you. . .

Wow

I think Frank said my name is Iowa, it means killed agent's code name is born country in korea(naju, jincheon, bongpyoung).
becuase them protected there's children, what ever cost.
Normal kids get lost on the ground. Bongseok get lost in the sky.
I also like ep.7 and your Korean is really good.
We all knew Frank is good..but Huisoo Pops is Legends and all the way above him in both class and experiences..
LOL... "Disney doesnt write good parents". This show was produced by Disney's korea branch. Hence why its a hulu and Disney + series
Still doesn't change the fact that Disney didn't write this.
I can't wait for you to react to the story of the parents!!!
looking forward to ep 8+ reactions
Wednesday !!

Seeing all his trauma past makes me unable to hate Frank :(
i wish Juwon is my dad
The next 8 episodes are the parents backstory part, then the final 5 episode is a follow up of that video upload incident that trigger the final showdown in between all superpower being.
Don't spoil them bro
@@RizwanKhan-jz3quits not a spoil though... Its like the timeline since maybe they will be confused for a long backstory.

I guess Frank 's mother wants Frank to live in America. Many korean thought Ameria is good for living or studying.
Even she was hard to take care of kid alone. Korea was harsh and unfair about unmarried mothers and their children.
After this please react to revenge of others kdrama.. ❤
Can you react to 'Mr.Queen' kdrama it's sooo good!!!
