Good work as usual sir. Question as a non-builder. I understand roofs are hot or cold, this is a cold roof, so does it not need venting front and back? (Asking because mine is also tiles, pitched, and no vents and I'm getting wet patches on my ceiling and wondering if it's condensation)
Not an expert but DIY'd own kitchen extension foundations up. Initial investigation I would take few down light assemblies out (without electrocuting myself) and see if I can find evidence of condensation up there. I would also check on the outside if the underside of fascia board is the one with vents properly installed. Wet patches could be condensation or a leak. Roofing surveyor could come in handy though. all the best.
He has put venting strip along the front and a mushroom on top at the back by the looks of it, so this would be vented all the way through. If yours has no ventilation and is getting wet patches you can guarantee it’s sweating.
@@cybermian I will be doing exactly that when i finish my upstairs refurbishment. I pulled some roof tiles up and everything seems to be built okay. So too 2 theories are condensation or wind blowing the water up through the tiles.
@@FL4M4BL3 This is also my thought process, these videos for this roof have been very useful. Im probably going to need to do some rectifications, but not sure the best method. For flat roofs, it's pretty well documented on YT, but for pitched roofs not so much.
@@TooMuchInfoSir id take some tiles up check what felt has been put on it, if its a breathable felt then there shouldn't be an issue. depending on the pitch of the roof, water could be blowing up if there isn't much of a pitch and the wrong tiles have been used. also make sure that there is enough of a gauge on the tiles so everyone is overlapping the other.
Looking good. Can't wait to see the fit out of the inside. Also can't wait to see more of the Cowboy build. Also how is that job going where you ripped up the floor to put in a steel beam and then other beams were to be fitted? Did that end up getting finished?
