Congratulations. Beautiful. I liked so much. As Argentine man I am proud of you. Thank you so much for make fil so emotionsted. The orchestra, the scene. The lights.I see IT every day.
People, this is a school production !!! The cast did a good job and it is sad to read some bad comments here. Young people need to be supported. Don’t expect Broadway or West End singers / dancers in a school show. If you want it, go to West End or Broadway. It’s easy to write a bad comment in RUclips; it’s not so easy be on stage in a show like Evita. Congratulations to all artists and staff in this so good production.
Wonderful! Great singing by the principals. Eva was fabulous. The school had two boys suitable to play Che, so they divided the role up, which worked well. Well done to Magaldi for hitting his high note without difficulty (not always achieved in school productions!). There is some good diction - I caught some lyrics I'd never quite understood before. Lovely scenery and lighting. Good lifts in the dancing. The defects were minor: the costumes (mainly for males) and the props were a bit lacking in places. The huge numbers of performers were a handicap, too - some of them were only vaguely moving their lips in the New Argentina scene.
Interesting, the Che thing. Would be interesting seeing a professional production using multiple actors as him during the show, might contribute not associating the character with Guevara for once but with different men who will want to join the "forgotten brigade"
Serious historical error in the stage direction - in "A New Argentina" women are shown casting their vote in the election. In fact, women didn't get the vote in Argentina until 1947, during Peron's first term as President.
Correct, it's even a lyric in the song - "votes for women" is one of the campaign requests from the descamisados. I also found the lack of styling on the girls' longer hair to be a little jarring, and Eva's first dress was much too short for the time. That said, the production quality is bloody fantastic for a school production. The sets and most other costumes are excellent, not to mention the full orchestra! The performances are also quite decent for ones so young. I hope many of them have gone on to study theatre. They're about 2 years older than me, haha. Edit to add: the girl who sings the latter half of Lament seems to bear an uncanny resemblance to the _real_ Eva Perón. She's very clearly near the centre of the screen at 46:53. Given her lovely voice, I personally would have cast her as Eva. I can imagine there would've been fierce competition for the role given the talent within this year group all the same!
OK, there are some weaknesses, but overall this is excellent. My main issue is that the kit drums are often a little too loud, in audio that is otherwise brilliant, couldn't be better. All aspects taken into account, this production is only bettered on RUclips by one that is professional and non-English. The lead is excellent by any standards, and she is part of a team, both onstage and off, who give a performance that is as tight as a pro production, and deals with a difficult score (not one of ALW's best) with aplomb. Mustn't forget the orchestra who also give a great performance (complete with, I suspect, digital strings, but again, a quality resource skilfully delivered by keyboard). Congratulations to all for an extremely enjoyable achievement.
Love this beautiful production! A little sad that Eva didn't have the higher vocal range on A New Argentina, High Flying Adore and Rainbow High. Her acting was brilliant, and I can tell she prepared very hard for the role, and Eva is such a challenging and demanding role.
The students at the school are very good, but it is a shame that they have learned an absolutely false history of Evita Peron. For your information, as a 68-year-old Argentine, I can tell you that Eva was 15 years old when she went to Buenos Aires by train with her aunt because she wanted to study declamation, she never met Magaldi at her mother's house. First lie. "She did nothing for years"?????? She did everything for the inclusion of women in all kinds of jobs that were only done for men, she obtained the right to vote for women, they could not do it before, she created several neighborhoods with the best chalet-houses for poor people in Buenos Aires, she helped people without work so that she and Peron could reduce the unemployment created before by the military, she created her foundation to help people who were invited every day to see her in her office. She treated people with leprosy, who had it at that time, she had no problem in kissing them and hugging them, when before they were sent to far away places forced to live, etc etc.
Very “movie”. I’ve directed and music directed this before. Production as a whole looked great. Eva did not have that power need to deliver the speech nor in Rainbow high. Like the movie, the made the role pretty for Madonna and it is not. It is a very gritty role which spans an actresses range. One of the hardest roles to play. We have to be completely convinced in her renouncing vice presidency and totally sold during her Lament.
As argentine, a lamentable interpretation of Evita. Poor. Without carism, showing her as a cold woman. Yet the movements of their hands....Millons miles away from the Real Evita. Nowadays She's still loved and hated. But never ridiculuzed as in this case
I have been captivated by Eva since I was introduced to this musical. I have read so much on her and even have several autographs, magazines and a set of her vice presidential pins never worn.
I had to watch the movie after this tripe. A school production yes but abysmal. The singing eso from the young Eva was atrocious. These weren't 6 yo's but could well have been.

Congratulations !! it was a great effort ..All they have offered all what they could!
Evita was amazing!
Great show! I enjoyed the video and I'm sure it would have been twice as good being in the audience. I've seen Evita several times on stage.

This is a quality performance! Cheers to everyone involved in this production ❤
how can you fault this production / love it
Well done to everyone

Really interesting idea seating Eva at a wheelchair during her last song. excellent performances for a school!!!!
The one who played Che... omg the voice!!! ❤

Eva is way too weak on the high notes. It's obvious she could do it coached right

Very good, makes a big difference seeing her singing at Peron during 'you must love me'
Song doesn’t belong in the show - as much as I love it.
@@michealhoffmann5975 I know what you mean... I hated it at first but it really grew on me. Now it feels like a classic
@@michealhoffmann5975 it definitely belongs in the show. no one can do it better than Madonna though

What do you expect from amateurs? Evita was outstanding!
Ah, yes: The part "but i found my salvation..." (52:26) is not only 1, but even 2 octaves lower than in Elena Roger's version (2006)
What is that thing on her forehead?
Microphone

I give these kids a lot of credit. Their hard work shows. The guy playing Che. is very handsome, He has a future but not for singing.

It's a school show. Like 26 year old. Come on
@mary murphy , absolutely!
This is true because of 'You Must Love Me'.
Of course and a a gringo you have been many times at Buenos Aires, speak Spanish read Borges and understand Eva's mith
They're quite ok. Eva should learn to sing with more power in the high registry.
They couldve casted a better Evita...
