    I am on the 78th page of Interview Hero and I must tell you guys that whatever you are offering in terms of content, in a free platform such as RUclips, you deserve a lot more than 3k-4k subscribers. And, Angela, you are simply brilliant; Interview Hero, is a wonderfully written book with insights that are difficult to come across in this interview preparation journey that many of us are in.

      Awwwww thanks, Anna! Yeah I have a pretty low opinion of Sandy's approach. For many reasons. Not least of which is the fact that no MBA interview anywhere, ever is actually conducted like that. Even the HBS interview, though targeted, is a very cordial, respectful conversation. Most of our clients report LOVING their MBA interviews! Best of luck with yours!!! - Angela

    Is it okay if in the tell me about yourself question, we spend like 15 minutes highlighting our story from maybe distinguished childhood experience or undergraduate background to recent career position?

    • @CareerProtocol
      @CareerProtocol  Год назад

      Hi Andy! Goodness no, I would not do that unless you know for sure that the ONLY question that will be asked is "tell me about yourself." That was the case with some Darden interviews in the past, but I've never heard of that otherwise. In general, I would stick to a max of 4 minutes on this question and then let the interviewer pick it up from there. Follow the advice in our other walk me through video to construct your best answer. 99% of childhood experiences would not belong in the walk me through of a professional/MBA interview aside from something as simple as "I grew up in Italy, then for college I moved to London...." or something like this. That said, if you think it's really important, you can include it, but make sure time-wise it is overshadowed by your career in the answer and that the whole thing comes in at max 4-5 minutes. This way the interviewer has plenty of time to get the information THEY need and complete their agenda in the conversation. Best of luck!!

    • @andyh3909
      @andyh3909 Год назад

      @@CareerProtocol Thank you Angela for the response. To be honest, I have a Darden interview in the coming week, and after some review on some sites, it looks like many candidates spend a longer time in this part of the question. Should I still cap it in max 4 minutes for the Darden case?

    • @CareerProtocol
      @CareerProtocol  Год назад +1

      @@andyh3909 Amazing!! Congrats! I always think it's good to take your cue from the interviewer. If they want a long answer, they will signal that. Or you can even check in: I have a 4-minute version and a more complete 15-minute version, which one do you want? The thing you want to avoid is talking for too long about a question that prohibits the interviewer from getting everything they need from the conversation. 15 minutes is way too long if this particular interviewer has 20 questions planned. So give them the chance to tell you....
