Works great with a wide open aperture! I was shooting at f1.4 for this video. It would work perfect with a black background! Just make sure your talent is nicely lit and you’ll be set! You can also try out Keyper before you buy it on the FxFactory store. 👊

Ill ask on here hoping to get a good answer. When getting the "RED SCREEN OF DEATH" witith plug ins... why does it seem random? I'll start using a plug in, finish the edit with it, then when it comes time to export, I get the red screen with finished video. Or, sometimes it will star letting me edit with it then out of nowhere it will go red. Is this a problem with my system or a problem with the plug in? Mostly happens with motion Vfx tracker. I've tried all the work arounds I can see on RUclips. Hope someone can help
Bro I downloaded some of your plugins and your watermark + some black board won’t stop appearing on every video I try to edit in Final Cut. How do I get rid of them.
Pixel films do not work on the M1 chip. I purchased some of their software and they give a superficial "Ticket" to try to resolve the problem, which it did not work. The programs locks up Final cut and Motion. I had to delete all the download files; I do not recommend their software.
Yeah I definitely agree with you from Pixel Films! And will never do a sponsored video with them. I’ve just had too many plugins break from them unfortunately!
Hey Dylan, I bought addmotion using your code but noticing something different, when I add an image above a clip and than apply addmotion to that image if I move position a to the side of the screen the image starts to cut itself off .....not sure what i'm doing wrong as I seem to be doing the same thing as your video? edit: I think I figured out the problem....you need to make images into a compound clip before applying addmotion? is that true?
Hey thanks for the video! Does add motion work with the control points etc on masks? For example if I mask someone out of a clip and want to add motion for their figure to motion into a different clip is it possible? Or are you only able to motion and control graphics?
It doesn’t have a light wrap function as of now. I can easily see that being another step in the plugin, but doesn’t happen as of yet. You could try doing a luma key if you’re on a black background! Just really isolate the darkest parts of the image. It has a light wrap feature built in.
Great suggestions. I’ve been DESPERATELY wanting some advanced keyframe options without hopping to motion for something simple. You think fcpx will ever add bezier keyframe options in an update? Does the addmotion give you anything similar to what bezier handles would do?
While AddMotion doesn’t specifically add bexier curves, the animation presets themselves act very much like a bezier curve, in that they are so tremendously smooth with the different options given to you. It’s honestly becoming more and more rare for me to need to hop into Motion for animation purposes, just due to how easy the plugin is to use. And I’m still learning more and more about it over time!
You can actually pretty easily make one yourself if you have Motion! Go to the top right, enable Motion Blur, then go into the project settings on the left, and at the very bottom you can set motion blur parameters. You can set the shutter angle, which I’d set to 180° and then the sample amount. Just drag the samples up until you’re happy with how good the motion blur looks. If you apply it to a final cut effect, you’ll be able to add it to anything you want in FCP! Just know it’s extremely intensive on the computer, which is why most plugin developers keep it on a really low amount (like 8 or less samples).

One quick question! I am very interested in MarkUp for zooming in on screen recordings like you do. However, is there an easy way to smoothly move from one zoomed part of the screen to another? I don’t want to have to zoom out first before zooming to another part. Appreciate the help! 😃
Yes! There is also a "frame pan" feature within the plugin. You will apply it directly under the zoom, then you can pan the screen to where you want. You can try out the free trial on FxFactory and make sure it works for you before purchasing!

Yes that’s true! I normally show that whenever making AddMotion videos, but this video had to be kept short and sweet. Glad you figured it out!
