Home invasions happen even in daylight by people pretending to be cops. I understand ehy this Deputy might have thought he was protecting himself from possibly catching a round or two by stepping away from the door. He did everything to make this Airman assume it might be someone just pretending to be a cop though. Shooting a man who is standing by his doorway, holding a gun that is pointed at the ground, is not a justifiable use of force.
