wen i watched the Ip man movies they inspired me to learn this style and now im part of a wing-chun society and i've bin doing wingchun now for only 3 months but i feel i've progressed somuch already and at the other styles i've done, i didnt feel like that i had the feeling i wasnt learning anymore, only growing muscles and wing-chun opend my eyes :]
Im glad I ran across this, and learned about Ip Man. Bruce Lee is one of my all time greats. I always thought about how great his teacher must have been. Dude was cold.

@1984WakeUp its bin one year of practising wing chun now and i've gone a rank up, im starting to controll the chain punch, tang sao and bong sao. im practising at home almost every day now

you know before that movie called IP man nobody or most of people haven't any idea about this great man really i liked him,you can see in their life how are they lived and see how we are? really it's big different and our life it's :(
wing tsun just reached our city, in fact it just opened last February so we dont have much equipment to start with but my sifu is doing everything to teach us effectively and we have learned a lot, my sifu's linage is great sifu Yip Man -> sifu wong shun leung -> Sifu Wan Kam Leung.
It would have been good if he asked about Wong ShunLeung ! I’m from Hong Kong and have been practicing Wing Chun since 1977. I’m still young incase you were wondering!!! ( the name you see is not my real name )
Leung Jan probably taught about 6 students but mostly within his pharmacy either as workers or colleagues or friends. Leung Jan was running his medical practice so that's why Ip Ching said he had "no students" before Chan Wah Shun. Leung Jan thought he had passed down to Wooden Man Wah, but that student fell sick and died early. Wooden Man Wah introduced his friend Chan Wah Shun who was interested in Wing Chun and Leung Jan eventually made Chan the successor.
@blade888855 congrats on starting your Kung Fu journey, my friend. Three months in you are just starting to get comfortable with your training. You have a lot of work ahead, but it is well worth it. Once you really start developing your skills and practicing Chi Sau regularly, you soon know what it must feel like to be a "jedi". The automatic aspect of Wing Chun that comes with lots of training is mind blowing.
@OMGWTFShizznat My brain is still working fine but use yours because US it's not all the world only Japanese and Chinese know him,so that made him known for the world, There are 196 countries in the world skip tow countries so it's 194 and that's made him known, Please use a logic

Sergio Sifu. In your trip to the area where Leung Jan is from there are people who say they were taught by him. How does GM Yip Ching say Leung Jan only taught 1 person?
The history truth in WC is you started from one lineage and research the other lineage Coz No one Lineage can tell the other sides of coins story!!So just find out the truths together and shares knowledge each other and not criticized other became a laughing stock by other discipline!
@lipsfordre if you think about what you've read or heard, it doesn't totally a make sense. Why would Ip Man accept Bruce if he was racist? I've heard this rumor before also... There are lots of rumors but then normally do not add up to much. Peace my friend.

Dan L kwoon is the practise place of Chinese kung fu. Perhaps not a familiar word to most however the correct word.
