The Virtual Hole in the Road

Short film about the Virtual Hole in the Road project. Humanstudio recreated the legendary Sheffield 'Hole in the Road' - described as "a marvel of 1960s urban planning". But why do people get excited about an underground shopping centre that was demolished in the early 1990’s? Watch this to discover more about Sheffield’s favourite underpass.

Just missing the Skiffle Band and the old lady (Elsie) who used to dance to the music.
She used to regularly get carted off by the coppers caus she used to raise her skirt and flash her bloomers at the passing public 😂

Used to come to Sheffield at Whitsuntide for new shoes or coat. Took us two buses to get to Pond Street and walk to The Moor! Nightmare! Hated the underpasses, scared the death out of me. Don't remember the fish tanks, we used to come late sixties early seventies. Some cities still have them, but sane people don't use them.
