  • The BEST Car Dryers Battle! In this video, I present what I believe to be the best automotive car dryers (blowers, blow dryers), to help you make a better purchasing decision. A car dryer will allow you to dry your vehicle quickly and safely. It will help to prevent water spots, and because it’s a touchless method, it will prevent scratches and swirls from appearing when you’re drying your car. We compare models from Metrovac, Bigboi and EGO.

I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.

I love my Adam's Air Cannon. Very flexible hose that self-expands to like 30'. Nozzle tip. Great CFM at almost 400. Heated. I took it off it's rollers and attached it to the bottom of the top-shelf of my detailing cart. Absolutely love it.

I have the smaller ego blower and it works well but takes too long to dry a vehicle. Great for small areas and wheels. I have an EGO and that is the best one out of all! I modified mine to have a shorty extension and makes using it some much better! Definitely use ear protection because the EGO had my ears ringing for a tad when I was done using it really high up for the roofs of vehicles.

Pan as always a great job! You really do mean it when you say “sit back relax and enjoy the show” I am in the market for a blower to dry my Mini and this review was timely as well as informative. I will mention that I purchased a Harbor Freight cordless blower with a 5 amp hour battery for detail drying. You can handle it with one hand and is great for interior dusting, door jambs, under the hood etc. Will be looking at the Ego since our sedan is a large Ford Edge and the power will be needed. Thanks again for a job well done!👍.

Started with a corded leaf blower but honestly, I hated it. It fit the budget at the time, but it was clunky to use , didn't move as much air as I'd like and was hard to get into tight spaces. As soon as budget allowed, I planned to upgrade. Fortunately for me, I recommended to a friend to buy the master blaster or BigBoi for their son. When he left for college and they decided to move, they donated it to me. I know am using the single motor BigBoi with the length hose. The plan is to build out a garage in the next house and at that point I will decide between the big master blaster or the dual motor BigBoi. I'm leaning toward the BigBoi because their hose is far superior, IMHO.

I recently picked up the 765 CFM Ego blower and am very pleased. I couldn’t imagine needing more power, especially with a coated car. Great battery life and performance, and best of all, it’s cordless. I love the dual purpose aspect being able to use it as a car dryer, and household work. Definitely a great investment.

Hey Pan, good review! Just to add.. My Metrovac Air Force Master Blaster is about eight years old and still going strong. The only part that I’ve needed to replace due to wear and tear was the power cord ($20.00) which bring up the point of longevity. This unit reminds me of the Electrolux vacuums cleaners of the 70’s & 80’s. Those things were built like a tank and were 100% serviceable. Same goes for the Air Force Blaster. So yes, they are expensive but they may last you 20+ years as long as parts are available. Can’t say the same about most modern appliances now a days. Seems everything is designed to last no more than 3 - 5 years then you need to go out and buy something new.

Tip: make sure that the road, driveway, garage floor or whatever your vehicle is parked on is dirt free and wet. Reason: when all this air is blowing around you will blow dust or worse(dirt) back on you freshly washed buggy. Especially make sure it’s dirt free and wet when blowing your wheels.
But then again, you’ll figure that out the first time you try blowing air on your car.
Bonus: for us snowy folks the air blowing method works great on your car if you got some snow on it. That way you reduce marring/swirls on the paint

I purchased the Ego 650 and compared it to my Ego 530. For vehicle drying, there is little difference between the two for a ceramic coated vehicle. For other around the house needs, the 650 will give some marginal gains. I didn't see the price difference as justified for my purposes so I returned the 650.

I just picked up the EGO 650 from Lowe's yesterday for $279. They have a 765 cfm version now too for $329. Seems the prices keep dropping because I saw mentions of the 650 for $440 a year or so ago. I also ordered the shoulder strap and the stubby with rubber nose protector for $54 shipped. Plus, I can also use it for crazy stuff like blowing leaves...

Thanks Pan; Great video as always. TWO QUESTIONS: 1) Why do you have two powered blowers? 2) I noticed in the videos that you are wearing ear protection while drying. I've noticed my EGO makes a lot of high pitched noise and when I'm drying the roof, it's right by my ears. Can you comment on what you use and why?
Perhaps your next video could be personal protection recommendations? (Ear, gloves, clothing, etc).

    • @PanTheOrganizer

I always try to use ear protection regardless of which blower I use. They are very loud. I spoke about personal protection equipment in a recent video on the top 20 detailing mistakes to avoid.

The 40 volt blower from worx (canadian tire or amazon $300 to $350 can, or bare tool if you have batteries from other tools for $199) works pretty good for me. When buying a consumer grade blower miles per hour are more important than cfm for car drying. I should say worked however as the switch no longer seems to be working, will be testing out their 5 year warranty. This also has a battery charge meter. Another plus side is the batteries are usable in other worx devices such as trimmers etc. Canadian tire specs rates it at 164 miles per hour air speed. There is also a 20 volt 130 miles per hour version sub $200 but I don't know how effective or long lasting one 20 volt battery will be. The 40 volt drys my car off with still plenty of juice, when it worked LOL.

I actually have the Adam’s polish air cannon. And it works great. The tips are a bit iffy though. The hose fell out of my hand and the round tip broke at the base of the attachment. Luckily the attachments aren’t expensive so I’ll buy a few just in case. The air cannon it’s self at whole sale cost is $230 usd. Non whole sale is $345 usd. It comes with two attachments and a 30ft hose. Super pliable hose too. The one I use is the pro but they do have a smaller one called the junior. About $100 less I believe.

It comes with two 40v 4ah lithium ion batteries, rapid charger, and two (replaceable) rubber tips. Ran out and picked one up. It's exactly what I needed to up the drying game.
