I use Sirui all the time! I love them, and think lighting, framing, and color grading have a much bigger impact on your video/film than the differences of lenses. The expensive anamorphic's are great and lovely, but shouldn't hold back any film maker!
Cheers!
Cool shots. Especially shooting solo and dealing with focus. Well done.
Atlas lenses are worth every penny! If you live in socal. Def check them out.
Wish they would have made an EF Version. Also, I don’t always agree more Squeeze ratio equally “more anamorphic” funk. I’ve used a range from 1.3x to 2x and its all over the place as fall as bokeh and falloff. It may come more down to whatever recipe of spherical/anamorphic elements and their arrangement.
2x or nothing! Excellent video and finally someone to make clear the point of anamorphic re depth of field. Thx btw loved the grade outside. If it’s the Komodo I would love to know what you are doing. Oddly enough it had a Venice kind of vibe and definitely something that is appreciated. So much Komodo footage seems a little dirge laden so great to see a more lifted open image ala Alexa or Venice if that makes sense. Thx
Just a little film emulation on the color side but not too strong.
@@spensersakurai hey thanks for that. Do you prefer dehancer or film nitrate? Not sure if you are a stickler for white balance but if you know the film lost girls (shot on a Venice) then you’ll know what I’m getting at. The daylight shots seem pleasantly cool. Anywho all looks good. Thx so much K
Great video! Nice anamorphic lens!
Great video man, the Sirui full frame lenses are better then their Aps-c counter parts, in my opinion.
Awsome content bro! Keep it up!
It’s Ryan!
Don't know but any footage I've seen of these lenses, they look super flat and plasticky similar to the Rokinon/Samyang cine lenses. Really not a fan. I'd rather shoot on an old Mir/Helios Russian lens set if I didn't have budget to rent more high end anamorphic lenses for a project.
Ok. I love that companies are now offering anamorphic at good prices. But I'm still waiting on spherical cinema lenses. Anamorphic is great, but for my style, I don't like them. For the money, the only option right now are the VZO lenses. It'd be great if some companies produced some spherical lenses as well. Sigh...
Oh no ,we have a flare hater
