Sorry if someone said this already, but the yeast rising issue is bc of the garlic in the babaganoush. Garlic naturally counteracts with yeast production/growth which is why you can use it as an at home alternative to Monistat. For real.
I feel like this would be great for a Halloween party to look like brain bread, maybe with some marinara sauce drizzles, or go full testicles with black sesame seeds or something and bring this to a bachelorette party. Thank you for sharing this recipe and video, it was very fun to watch!
If you ever forget to heat up your liquids when making the dough, you could just let it rise in a warm spot. Usually I turn on my oven at like 350°F or so, let it get warm for a few minutes, then turn it off, put the dough in there and shut the oven door. In about an hour the dough has already risen :)

It made me so happy to see you make a mistake with the rising of the first dough lol I’m working on accepting mistakes I make as a learning moment and to see someone so amazing and accomplished make a mistake publicly was actually really powerful. Also food looked delish and does look like a bunch of ballz lol haha

Dry / fresh yeast works also in cold liquid, it just takes longer to rise. You could let it rise over-night covered in the fridge and in the morning let it warm on the table for about 30min. Thats how some bakeries do it \o/

I made the "that dough" for Christmas into cinnamon rolls and apple fritters...they were awesome!!! I should've taken a pic of when the dough rose, it went over the side, my kids got a big kick out of that lol I also made from your cookbook the brownies and chocolate chip cookies (minus the oats) because I made them into brookies...they were the best of all the desserts!!! I didn't realize till someone told me that's what cookies and brownies together were called lol

i recently had to redo a dough, too. it was sooo late already, and i somehow mixed up the water amount for dough and filling. the worst thing was, i had to go outside to get more flour.

Looks absolutely delicious!!! I wanna make it!! The dough didn't rise because the dry yeast shouldn't touch the salt, the salt deactivats the yeast , you're supposed to add them to different sides of the bowl or add the salt after it becomes dough ❤️good luck next time 😘
Is Tofutti your favorite vegan cream cheese? I used it for a cream cheese frosting for a carrot cake I made yesterday and I was actually a bit disappointed, it tasted like almost nothing, kind of paper-y even... For once I actually prefer the Daiya cream cheese! (I usually strongly dislike Daiya cheese :P) but to me it tastes almost the same as original Philadelphia cream cheese!

I will definitely try them but will not make them pink😂 I know you won't read this .....but....I do want to tell you as an ex pastry chef ( I was a pastry chef for 10 years) the liquid does not have to be a certain temperature to rise!!! If you added room temperature or even cool liquid it just means the dough will take longer to rise that's all, no need to throw a batch of dough away😘😘😘😘
I’m not 100% sure but doesn’t garlic kill yeast? That might be why your dough is rising like it should. I’ve heard that you add the garlic after it’s risen so you don’t kill the yeast
Last year, I was making pumpkin bagels, and I forgot that the liquid ingredients have to be warm to activate the yeast! I was SOOOOOOOOOO sad!!! I did cook the bagels from the wonky dough and they tasted great but were a little denser than I wanted...
