Mozart, always one of my passions, and no work of his exceeds the Laudete. Bonney I discovered a mere 2 years ago and quickly fell in love with, what a singer &/or angel is supposed to sing like--and be like. Whether or not there is a God, and whatever He may be, He exists for me while I hear this. I cannot congratulate you sufficiently on this brilliant accompanying slide show, and thank you so much for putting this together! Apparently there are still kindred souls out there.....
Thank you so much, Elizabeth. Barbara is a beautiful person with a beautiful voice. Thank you for sharing your kind words with us. Best wishes to you and the Kenyan people.
Wonderful, thank you for sharing with us! My father sent it to me since he heard it being sung at a local church at Vespers, and listening to it now just gave me a few moments of pure bliss during a workday halfway round the world in Beijing.
Love this! Not so sure about the Ecclesiastical Latin pronunciations, but I was simply taught differently. From a musical standpoint, her interpretation of this is amazing! Love the clarity of her voice, not overdone at all, and the prayerful tone is spot on. Good balance with the choir, too. Probaby one of the best-- if not THE best-- interpretations of this work that I have heard. Brava!
@L4zy1 Thank you very much for the compliment. Ms Bonney does sing heavenly. Here is the information on the song: Vesperae solennes de confessore for soloists, chorus & orchestra, K. 339 Laudate Dominum Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Performed by English Concert with Barbara Bonney Conducted by Trevor Pinnock
Very lovely performance, and nice sentiment in the images, some very pretty natural scenes that amplify the reverence in Mozart's music. However you wouldn't want to be in that beam shown in the next to last image showing it coming from the jet of M87 in the Virgo Cluster. That is a high energy beam coming from its super massive black hole. It that was pointed at us, we would be fried in a minute! The Latin with translation was nice, thanks.
theres just something about her voice, Cecilia Bartoli's voice, and Philippe Jaroussky's voice that just speaks to me. Simply beautiful. Thank you for the upload ^.^
@kf9as It's the German pronunciation of the Latin, which is why it sounds a little different from the Church Latin. Notably, the "qu" combination is pronounced with a "v" sound so that quoniam, for instance, sounds like "kvoniam".
Mozart, as suggested in the now legendary film Amadeus, seems to have had a line to the Supreme Being (God or whatever you want to call it). At least this music is divine as is the very empathetic performance of Barbara Bonney. Such a find - absolute beautty.
@bridgette751 Hi Bridgette...I agree with you. You will never be disappointed by the stellar interpretations of Ms. Bonney. I invite you to view other video with Ms. Bonney on my channel. Thank you.
When the song is written by WA Mozart and sung by Barbara Bonney then yes, 'most beautiful' applies. Please check out the rest of my channel for more beautiful song, Lied, arias by WAM and BB. Thank you.
@coralarch Your welcome. If you keep your mind and your heart open you will find God :) Give it a try.....remember......ask and you shall receive.....seek and you shall find....knock and the door shall be open to you...........
@lmitt My friend. There is a God. He created Mozart, you and me, this beautiful universe and all that is good in the world. Praise the Lord, all nations; Praise Him, all people. For He has bestowed His mercy upon us, And the truth of the Lord endures forever. Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and forever, and for generations of generations. Amen.
BB's voice is truly a gift from God.
Beautiful...brings tears to my eyes...God does exist!
This must be the most beautiful thing I've ever heard...
Gifted singer! her voice is a legacy for every generation to come.

God is most certainly alive.
He has given us this beautiful earth
and people to love. It is right to do
our best to take care of both.
