This is one of the best videos on RUclips. I stumbled upon it after watching one with Joe Rogan on the same subject. Rogan really completely missed the boat on his interpretation... Ty sir
I feel so much of sadness in this world is the negativity addressed on Television and on social media. There is a sense of hopelessness. There seems to be no purpose. No one seems to be working together for the common good of everyone. There is the haves and have nots. We have lost empathy, morels and values. And Faith that we all desperately need. So much change has taken place that I feel that we just can’t process. We need to pray for Gods guidance. We need to go back to the basics of love and kindness. We need to get back to morals of knowing and teaching what is right and what is wrong. As people we can all make positive change one day at a time, with one act of kindness.
Be rich in Spirit and treasure build in Heaven. That's my goal and my happiness. It's a attitude of grateful and thankful. To be the best possible person is to practice the teachings of Jesus every day. 🙏🏻♥️🌻
My meaning and purpose was to follow what Christ asked me to do. I felt I was doing this by working for the church. As a women the roles in Uk are limited, as Parish Secretary I was there for a purpose. But as Esther found it is not easy and your faith is also put on trial. For me being furloughed and then being made redundant especially at a time when no one from that community reached out in support. I feel sorry for them that all that God offered whilst I was in that role has been ignored. I am still a Spiritual Director but more and more it feels like the way of the desert fathers. Hearing God in the stillness and leaning on him to guide me.
I ponder this quite a lot. You asked, “ what’s missing?” And my answer is not much different than what your referring to: purpose and meaning. I say it’s the turning away from the church as the heart and center of our families, our communities, and it’s the same in much of the world. How to get folks back into a living Christian faith that celebrates together and prays together and joins forces to get out and DO GOOD in their communities... this is where deeply meaningful purpose is fostered and supported. And yet attendance by actively participating Catholics continues to decline. In all churches, actually.
