Really helped i was at a resort with my family and on the morning of our time to go our cat got away and don't ask why we spent all day looking for him but we didn't find him we went back later almost near dark but we still couldn't find him he was a black half Persian half ???? cat and we couldn't find him in the dark the second day day we went searching for him but we didn't find him so we left next a few hours later we got a text message from one of the maintenance of the resort and we found his leash (( his leash was attached when he got away cus my dumb cousin let him go..) we ere so glad that they said they found the leash near our room/cottage so we knew he went back the third day I was asleep my cousin and sister (the owner) were finding him with the workers there and we actually found em but at the moment he was walking to us A GOD DAMN STRAY DOG STARTED CHASING HIM( I know why you're wondering a stray dog in a resort so OK the dog was left or accidentally left there until the workers started feeding her and after that she started accompanying them everyday )and after that he got scared to even go out in the dark he goes out in the dark because he doesn't like going out in the day me and my sister cam across this video and watched it and actually made it we didn't really had much hope in this working but...... it worked!!! but FOR GODDAMN Unlucky Reason doggy opened it and chased the cat again...... howd we know? we had a night vision camera thingy looking at the tra the entire time... right now were still finding him thanks for ure help dude much appreciated Day #7 of lost cat..

I do basically the same thing with a wire cage and tuna. Once I catch the cat, I drop the cage in a 55-gallon barrel filled with water. After 30 minutes I go out and bury the dead cat.
Don't waste your time trying to make this trap. I spent the past 3 hrs trying to get it to work, but to no avail. The elastic bands get too tight for the steel wire to effectively hold the lid open, even when Quadrupling the wire. Overall there's just too much tension for the lid to even stay at a balanced upright position and if you loosen them, the lid isn't tight enough when closed to keep the lid shut enough for the cat to not slip out. I tried it with bungy cords because I couldn't find any heavy duty elastic like he used in the video at Walmart or Home Depot. Maybe you can find that kind of material at a Dick's Sporting Goods. It looks like a resistance band. I should've just bought a cat trap online but I didn't want to wait for it to ship.
