- A household name that has been in existence for over four decades has ceased operations and is now in the process of selling the business.
Once known as arguably having the “best hops bread” in the country, Pascal Bakery will no longer be feeding communities.
In this week’s Business Insight, Sunil Lalla chats with the former CEO of the company, Melissa Pascal.
Just now everything will close down and we will all end up like ffffing asses
Most of the business owners in T&T squander the income for personal use without thinking about the future because the banks allows them large overdrafts which they also squander
You do make a very important point there.
Her voice sounds like Makayla Panday
The key to succession planning is not for your daughter who doesn’t know squat to pillage it by stifling the business but by selecting passionate employees to oversee production and sticking to your small business model. If it ain’t broke don’t “fix” it
If she had been hands on since childhood she would have known how to bake. The family businesses that survive are the ones where the children learn the humblest skills in the business and then move on to supervisory and management roles.
Cassava pones and bread pudding were my favorites treats indeed...will miss them 😢
How sad that she wasn't willing to continue her father's business!! You do not bake - find people who do and pay them properly, throwing away a business isn't wise
Under the stinking PNM. The oil company closed down .The refinery closed down .The sugar industry closed down. The cocoa and coffee industry closed down. The pitch lake sold out everything in the country is close 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Just the refinery closed down under the PNM the other things were not, we as a people though can reviver these entities we just have to do as the Arabs did; learn the business and buy them, it will take about 40 years but that’s why the UAE are running on their own today
Behave yourself and stop the hate. Take off your blinders and allow good sense to prevail. There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that the government every month had to find money for payment of salaries. The goverment could not continue running the refinery at a loss.
@@JamesHoldem Yousick.pnm closed the caroni sugar industry .John Rachel underPNM Patrick manning
Who were the people employed in these places. Poor management and greed are some of the major drivers of business failures in t&t. These negatives are hidden behind blaming the government, there is a limit to the level of debt taxpayers can handle. STOP THE HATE AND THINK LOGICALLY!
@@lorrainewilson5234 the refinery brought value to the country. Lets say your logic is correct, then we we pump 1 billion into CPEP evry year???
Under the PNM everything will be closing down. Presently Trinidad is a failed state like Haiti under PNM 😢😢😢😢😢
The fact that your typing that msg using internet from a country that allows free speech, you are not in a failed state. We simply have to stop looking at persons who don’t know how to run a business and learn how to match passionate entrepreneurs with successful routines. This woman doesn’t understand what she was given as she admitted clearly. That’s why she can’t specify why the business has to close, Linda’s bakery is wide open for business, the owner knows how to run a business
Comparing trinidad to haiti is a very wild statement , yes we have our issues for sure , but our whole economy, and govt and nation has not collapsed...Trinidadians still fail to realise that we are still better off.
Steups. Not smart to use ur business name to say this.
I see alot of family run businesses in Trinidad going the same way in the next 3 - 5 years. The government have destroyed the country and economy with their greed. Also many of the younger generation dont want to take over their parents & grandparents business because its simply too hard/ old fashioned and also many young people dont see a future in Trindad due to rampant crime and corruption. Many more businesses will go this way in the near future.
Anybody take over this country certain difficulties must come to pass...Read the word
