The tip for pressing dart is such a clever one! It has annoyed me how I haven’t been able to press darts without risking the mark, but this is just brilliant. I also need to get one of those triangle rulers. I was not allowed to get one as a child as my father is a mathematician and he insisted I learned to make angles using a compass 😂
I like your inexpensive tools and have all of them or similar items. When it comes to a thimble, I have several I made for myself. Just draw around your finger onto a very small scrap of leather, cut out 2 and whip stitch together with strong thread. I find it much more comfortable than the metal ones and less sweaty, also a custom fit.
Wonderful video. i have been sewing for years. I am always learning something new. The tip about using stiff paper for pressing seams is great. Now I will tear off the back of my grandbabies drawing tablet. Grandma needs it now!😂
I would like to see your video on how to make a skirt. I saved it from the web , but a few days later when I went to use it to study how you taught it, and it had been removed. Are we supposed to buy the video on making a skirt block? I really like your teaching in that video. You even explained how to take our measurements and be accurate. It was such good information. Is there a place we can go to get the video?
Glad you enjoyed that skirt block tutorial - it was one of my oldest videos!🤗 I’ve updated the drafting technique and new instructions are available through the course🤗
I have a bodkin and had no idea how to use it, thank you ❤. I'm not sure about using a magnetic seam gauge with my sewing machine, I had read somewhere that it can affect the electronics...
@@francescaa7093 I've been using magnetic seam guides since I first bought them and never ever had troubles with anything, I use mostly professional sewing machines, sometimes domestic (but they are plastic so no much help there)
Could you please tell me the name of your steam iron, I want to buy one that will not leak thank you for all the wonderful information you give all of us sewist
Hi, so i noticed that you tested both the Singer heavy duty and brother cs10s machine. which one would you recommend more as a beginner machine? i'm planning on sewing simple materials like polyester and sometimes denim :)
Thank you Julija for this video. The tips are very helpful! Would you please tell me what type of steam iron you use? I’m looking to buy a professional steam iron and am researching the best type and if I need to spend $500 plus to get a decent iron. Thank you❤
@@Julija_Gobere thank you Julija, I appreciate you response. I’ll check it out. I’m not sure if they sell that brand in the US. And thank you for your channel. I’m sewing again now that I’ve retired and am learning so much from you🩷

LOVE the idea of making own thimble!👍

Measuring gauge, I didn't know that it has a hole and the usage of it, and I have been used it for about one year so far 😂 thank you 🤗
These little tools often come without any instructions, so no surprise that some of their features remain a unknown!🤗

My iron is Bieffe Stir Vapor🤗
Issue I have with chalk dispenser is that chalk line just lays on top of fabric, so if you shift it or touch line, it gets deformed right away 😢

My iron is Bieffe Stir Vapor - it’s considered to be professional, but small enough for home use🤗 I paid ~220eur for it last year
