    The Gummies go great! Don't be afraid to keep a Bronzie as well - they are almost as good on the plate. The kids love it as traditional battered fish (with the obligatory 2kg of home made chips). Love the video.

      Mate I'd love to get a small bronzy. I've tried them, they eat very well.
      Thanks Iain

    Welcome back - and what beautiful conditions greet you! So, to conclude from this video....in order to catch a tasty family size gummy, we don't need to stay up all night in the freezing cold, spend up on big heavy gear, use half a tuna for bait nor cast somewhere near the horizon? 😀 Great stuff!!

      Lol.. well it seems that way!
      I really wasn't expecting a Gummy on that small hook.
      I think every Gummy I've caught on the beach has been on a dropping tide though.
      Thanks Andrew

      I went beach fishing with a mate at Nelson a couple years ago. We both prob beach fish a couple times a year, we were there for 30mins and pulled in a 10kg gummy haha seems like you have to go through a lot of rays at night too

    No doubt about it….he’s back! Once again I loved the production…I have no idea how long it takes you to set up your camera’s, drone and GoPro’s but for sure it would take some time indeed…..Great gummy Steve….could taste those fillets myself. I was wondering….how many subscribers do you have from parts north and how they would envy your beach sessions.

    • @SteveOutside
      @SteveOutside  2 года назад +3

      Going by the views the videos get I'd say most subscribers are down south.
      I could be wrong though.. maybe the vids I did up north just weren't any good!... lol
      Yeah there's a fair bit to it, making a video.. Just as well I love doing it!
      Thanks heaps Mark 👍

    Great video, appreciate the simple things like showing how you put the bait on. I looked over your other videos to see if you had done anything on reading the beach to know where to fish. It would be great to see a video with drone footage as well as beach level footage to show different areas where you would cast a line, when a gutter looks deep enough, where the channel is and so on. Many of the examples I have found via google have only looked at one obvious place but with somewhere like Woodside beach it often isn't very obvious. Also wondering with side current, does it extend all the way along the beach or will it be less where there is a channel or on an outgoing tide?
    Thanks very much.

    • @SteveOutside
      @SteveOutside  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Sam, as far as far i know the side current will affect most of the 90 mile beach because it is weather/wind related. So if the weather is calm at one end, it may not be present.
      I can only view the drone footage on my phone and unfortunately my eye sight isn't good enough to see the gutters.
      I usually just look for the darker water, and cast there.

    Hi Seve nice hook up, especially since you downsized the hooks. Your drone footage is great. How are you acclimatising the cold conditions compared to up north? I’m about to get the same shock, soon returning from Thailand but looking forward to wet a line..cheers mate.

      Yeah it's taking a bit of getting used to. (It's raining hail as I'm typing this) lol
      I wasn't expecting a Gummy on that little hook/bait.
      Cheers Nudge. 👍
