  • Enrich Your Soil for 1,000 YEARS with This ONE Ingredient | Soaking chickpeas before planting can have several benefits for the soil in which they are grown | Chickpeas are legumes, and like other legumes, they have a symbiotic relationship with nitrogen-fixing bacteria (such as Rhizobium species) that live in their root nodules | When chickpeas are soaked, it may help promote the growth and effectiveness of these beneficial bacteria | This process converts nitrogen from the air into a form that plants can use, improving soil fertility over time |

Sprouted (malted) seed meal is very good for soil. Seeds have all the building blocks and nutrients for starting plants and those things release into the soil where other plants can easily absorb them.
I wouldn't boil the seeds. Just soak until sprouting, dry them and grind.

I was thinking the same thing! Besides nitrogen fixing ability has to do with live legume plants growing in the soil. If he had planted the inoculated chick peas as a cover crop, and then tilled it into the soil along with some inoculated Biochar, then he would have a long term improvement in the soil.
But as someone who has degrees in biology and horticulture, I have serious doubts that this method as shown will work. Sorry!

Chichpeas will fix nitrogen only when you allow the plant to grow in the soil. Boiling and mashing them up will add only add that much nitrogen that's initially there. It will be used up in a week or so. No question of 1000 years

Only a living plant can fix nitrogen by entering into a symbiotic relationship with nitrogen fixing organisms in its root nodules. What will a boiled and mashed up chickpeas get roots. Maybe good for making a salad dressing.

Plants fix nitrogen via the bacteria living on their living root systems......the only way this could work is it boosts that particular bacteria (yeast is claimed to have the same effect in the northern hemisphere)

How to make the best organic ferilizer to be used once a month on crops and garden
To make the best organic fertilizer that can be used monthly on crops and garden plants, consider the following homemade recipe which balances nutrients and is easy to prepare:
    Ingredients:
Compost: This is the backbone of any organic fertilizer, providing a wide range of nutrients. You can either buy it or make your own from kitchen scraps, leaves, grass clippings, and manure.
Worm Castings: Worm castings (vermicompost) enrich the soil with beneficial microbes and nutrients. They can significantly improve soil structure.
Bone Meal: High in phosphorus, which promotes root development and flowering.
Blood Meal: Rich in nitrogen, which supports leafy growth.
Epsom Salt: Contains magnesium and sulfur, beneficial for plant health and chlorophyll production.
Wood Ash (optional): If your soil is acidic, wood ash can help to neutralize it while providing potassium. Use sparingly since it can make soil too alkaline if overused.
Seaweed or Kelp Meal: Packed with trace minerals and growth hormones that stimulate plant growth.
Molasses: Helps in feeding the microorganisms in the soil, promoting soil health.
    Method:
    Collect or Prepare Compost:
If you don't have compost, start composting. Layered organic materials will decompose into rich compost over time.
    Mixing the Fertilizer:
    Gather:
    4 parts compost
    2 parts worm castings
    1 part bone meal
    1 part blood meal
    1/2 part epsom salt
1/2 part seaweed meal or kelp meal
1 tablespoon of molasses per gallon of mixture
Optional: A handful of wood ash if soil testing indicates a need for pH adjustment or potassium.
Mix all dry ingredients thoroughly in a large bucket or wheelbarrow. If you're adding molasses, mix it with water first, then incorporate it into the dry mixture for even distribution.
    Application:
Dry Application: Sprinkle this mixture around the base of plants or spread evenly over garden beds. Use roughly 1-2 cups per 10 square feet, depending on the nutrient needs of your plants.
Liquid Fertilizer: For a monthly foliar spray or root drench, mix a couple of cups of this fertilizer with water (about 1 gallon) and let it steep for a few days. Strain, then apply directly to the soil or spray on leaves.
    Frequency:
Apply once a month during the growing season. Remember, over-fertilizing can harm plants, so observe your plants' responses and adjust quantities if necessary.
    Tips:
Soil Testing: Before you start, test your soil to understand its specific needs. This can prevent over-fertilization or nutrient imbalances.
Storage: Store your mix in a dry, cool place in an airtight container to preserve its quality.
Observation: Monitor plant health and growth. Organic fertilizers release nutrients slowly, so changes might not be immediate but should be evident over time.
This homemade organic fertilizer will not only feed your plants but also improve soil biology and structure, leading to healthier, more productive gardens and crops.
