    I feel so comfortable watching you. I haven’t smiled without covering my mouth since the 8th grade! I’m 47 now. All of my teeth have broken off at the gum line. Im on Disability & cannot afford this. I wish I could find a program & or a school that could help but no luck yet..You have a natural light sweet way of speaking. Please be clear, I really do appreciate your aesthetic and your taking the time to offer information. Despite your generosity in this regard, I have some direct questions whose asking might indicate I have no such appreciation and nothing could be further from the truth. QUESTION ONE? So, since it seems that Zirconia is the available material that fewest people react to on the Clifford, Elissa, and Biocomp materials compatibility testing panels , Why dont you use it? QUESTION TWO: If, as you say, plastic teeth are wearing down significantly over time does that not mean your patient is ingesting plastic? What does that do to them over time? In listening to you I hear an acute sensitivity to aesthetics and some degree of sensitivity to patient comfort both during the procedure, and in their post treatment life. I dont seem though to be hearing your awareness that Dentistry as a profession made a major mistake in allowing mercury to be used in the teeth of folks, and, that as a result many of us are FIRST concerned with WHAT we are putting in our bodies AND the SCIENCE resources that can demonstrate to us that Dentistry as a profession is not again making a similar mistake. What do you do in your practice to vet the materials you are using? Do your patients do biocompatibility testing?

    • @drgurssehmi
      @drgurssehmi  5 лет назад +1

      Good question! It can be for a few reasons, there are techniques used to expand the bone with the chisel, this sounds like the most likely. Another reason could be do hold down or tack a membrane, if they did a bone graft.

    I am an artist and I agree if you do not understand aesthetics you are in the wrong job. Perhaps dental professionals, cosmetic surgeons etc should have a fine art qualification too, and if they are naturally artistic, especially in detail, realism and figurative art they are the only ones I would use too. My dentist has a natural flare artistically so I can trust her thank god.

    Hi, i've long wondered about the lifespan statistics for implant clients. are there any such statistics? i wonder, because titanium clots blood on contact, surely the titanium ions pose a hazard. i feel it's important for there to be a central reporting for when clients have the implants, and then follow-up to record when they pass and from what causes.

    I had a consultation with a surgeon for implants for a full set of teeth in April. The total cost was 60,000. 25,000 for the surgeon and 35,000 for the dentist. I had 2 surgeries. 6 upper implants in September and 6 lower in December. Now I have all 12 and had to give the dentist half the money up front in April when he was making me temporary dentures. The first lab he had put 2 different teeth in the front and he had to send them back. Then the second time he gave me the upper dentures it was off centered but the dentist said they are only temporary. Well 9 months later I still wear them. In Dec he used another lab and had them do the bottom dentures and when he gave them to me after my surgery in Dec I was horrified!!! The bottom dentures were way too big they didn’t fit and they were the bleached 1 which is the whitest you can get. My upper dentures are a D2 and not bleached! When I saw him I told him how unhappy I was and he walked out of the room and refused to talk to me!!!! I gave him 17,500 and he left me with NO bottom teeth! I’m over a month now and still o my have the upper uncentered dentures! I went to a new dentist for a consultation while telling my old dentist I want a refund for the rest of my money. He only was going to give me half and I ended up getting 10,000. So I personally lost money because I only have a upper denture from him. I’ll be going over different types of teeth with the new dentist so this video was very informative. Thank you and hopefully by April I should have my permanent teeth. The lab the dentist uses I EXTREMELY important because the 1st dentists labs he has do work like third graders!!!!! That’s why he lost my business!

      Poor you, what a horrid experience and shocked at the reply from. Dr.Gurs Sehmi. There is always a valid reason as to why a patient complains especially with the experiences you endured from the beginning. Come on Mr. Sehmi you’re extremely expensive and your patients deserve to be listened to when they have such a valid complaint. Furthermore, I would have insisted on a full refund for the unsatisfactory work, distress and inconvenience or we would be seeing each other court.

    • @cherylturgeon6237
      @cherylturgeon6237 4 года назад

      Mirella Wiegel it wasn’t done by him. I’m in NH and the dentist my surgeon recommended was nice but he went through 2 labs due to awful quality I had. He chose to keep the ones that didn’t match my teeth correct and when I complained he walked out leaving me hanging with only upper teeth till I found someone else. Thursday I get my implants exposed and capped and the new dentist is now charging me 40,000. He said they should be ready 2 weeks after my surgery to start making impressions for my final teeth.

    please do your research before you go putting metal in your mouths guys,
    the information is out there,
    now i know i won't have any metal under any circumstances in any part my jaw,

    and don't ask the dentist doing the work on you,
    would a car salesman say "you don't want to buy this car mate"
    no they wouldn't,
    to start you off search for holistic dentist on you tube,
    or root canals, which is completely insane, the tooth is dead and full of toxic bacteria fill it with Gutta-percha and top it off with some mercury for good measure,
    that isn't really fixing the problem,
    we research every minute detail about a new phone, a new fridge, a new car,
    then ignore the important things that will effect our quality of life,
    wake up guys we need to think for ourselves,
    you tube is an endless resource of information should you chose to look behind the wizards curtain.

U have to b rich to afford any kind of extensive dental work.. there is noway Ur regular person can't afford dental implants or other extensive dental work... Dentist, doctor's & plastic/Cosmetic surgeons r a disgrace to the healthcare system worldwide.. over pricing 2 feel there greedy pockets.... It's a shame bcz I & other ppl need these kind of services but can't afford them. Im sorry you feel that way. Most countries have a way to get low cost dental care. Lets face it, if all you needed was a car, then you don't need to get a Rolls Royce - there are other options to replace missing teeth, rather than the most cutting edge techniques in modern dentistry.

      Thanx 4 replying I understand what U r saying. But unfortunately when it comes to the world theses days just not everybody has this kind of money to get implants which I really need.. but U regular everyday person doesn't have this kind of money. & It's something U dentist really don't get. Now U make offer cheaper solutions but nobody wants to get all that work done wit cheap material..to b quite honest I know I wouldn't.. but that fact that U dentist charge outrageous amounts of money is great 4 U & Ur business but not 4 us regular everyday ppl that doesn't have a $25,000 or $50,000 4 Ur services. Well that's how much they cost in Australia... It's sad that dentist don't realise that ppl generally can't afford general dental work let alone dental implants..U don't cater to poor ppl simply as that.. U can talk about different cars types til Ur blue in the face it doesn't not matter even though I understand where U r comin from.. once again thanx 4 replying have a nice day..

      I payed $16,700 in 3 payments over a year and a half. And that was for the entire procedure. Starting with 18 extractions and finally finishing with a titanium acrylic hybrid denture on both top and bottom. Cancun dental specialists did an amazing job! If it's really something that's important to you then it's not that hard. Work, save your money and go somewhere out of the United states with a proven track record. And by the way I'm an everyday "regular person"

    • @Bshell1502
      @Bshell1502 5 лет назад +3

      As an “every day” person I will say that most people don’t understand the cost of medical practices. Dentists actually go to school for longer than your normal MD. First they go to medical school just like any other dr., then they go to dental school. Finally, they go to another specialty school, such as orthodox, or in the case you are referring, to bd an implant specialist. None of this is free! Dentists usually end up with hundreds of thousands of dollars of student loans. Also, the price you are paying includes paying for the building, electric, surgical tools, sterilization of those tools, the plastic wrapping the chair, the dental
      Assistant. I could go on, but I’m sure you get the picture. Don’t get me wrong, I DO agree that there are high priced dentists, as well as affordable ones. As far as you NEEDING implants, that’s not the case. You may WANT them because that’s your preference, but before this technology many people got along fine with dentures. There are a lot of places to get nice dentures at an affordable price. There are some dentists that will give payment option. Like another person said, there are lots of options for cheaper services in other countries. In any case, I wish you the best and hope you are able to get the smile you want!

      Bshell1502 And they recoup fast with procedures that have been reported to last from 2 1/2 years to 20 years? I recall this dentist saying he has “heard” of that. The truly best thing a dentists have been right about is to take care of your teeth in all ways. They cannot be replaced. I have a 3 year old All on four upper and lower that started breaking down after two years. They cost $34,000 initially. Since then , they have cost $2,000 to repair. Now my prosthodontist tells me that my prothesis has failed and my cost is $12,00 to 14,000. The clincher is this: my prosthodontist is quite good, but she continues to use the same lab that made my prothesis. I met with him at the beginning of my treatment and he was quite snarky because I dared to ask him about his method. He told me he didn’t know what the fuss was that the
      prothesis would fail after 2 1/2 years. I told the prosthodentist what he said and she said it was untrue. But guess what? It ended up true for me. I can’t help but think I’m a victim of a madman.. Now I’m in a quandry. What do I do? If I choose a new team, I w8ll likely be charged much more for a new All on four. I can’t afford to do what I was sold. At the time, after my teeth had been pulled and I was fit with my all on four, I was so distraught over something that came out different than the model I was shown. When asking questions, I was told that I would have to go to dental school to learn about ‘all that.’ I was told I was too sensitive and in ten percent of the population. I’m 74 years 9ld and retired. Most dental professionals become dentists because of the money they will most likely make. Please don’t tell me about plastic wrapping on a chair. I’ve heard of doctors becoming doctors because the6 were “ called” but never a dentist. Even if they were called, this is what they chose. Believe me when I say, that is what I was told when I questioned. I would never sue a dentist . Many should be sued, but not my dentist/prosthodontist. She works very hard and tries to help out all she can. There is a group of dentist professionals who review these techniques and not one report/study has said that any acrylic to zirconium lasts longer than 8 years with acrylic coming in last at less than three years.
