The best thing about Thorin is the fact that he can easily talk twice as fast as everyone else, so you basically get twice the content without having to invest any extra time. By the way, it was clear to me from the start that he would take over immediately after Richard's intro.
@@looky7486 I am sure moses and chad are all annoyed like you are that he doesn't even give them time to talk about such an important thing that will prob change how you communicate with your universe
@@115TM I do think they could pretty much take on anyone in this quarter final though, there is recency bias but i do think they could handily take on a sk/lg, liquid, fnatic, vplow, themselves in 18, and maybe streak nip
@@13NST it would be an interesting match for sure for fnatic, honestly the teams play kinda similar imo. they'd probably get blown out of the water by prime astralis though
Once again Richard. Thank you for the vid! Keep it uppppppp. I figure if I go out of my way to make a nice comment maybe that cancels out when someone for no reason spends their day typing out a hate message. I really enjoy the commentary on your personal perspective of eports, or maybe your ‘meta-commentary’. so I do hope that you continue doing steams like that.
40:05 Spunj must be remembering the Overpass 1v5 from Guardian in Katowice 2018 against Fnatic, which they ultimatley lost. That clip remains my favorite highligh/clutch/ace clip of all time.
It breaks my heart to think back to Katowice this year and look at that final and see 2 of my favorite players who walked two different paths face head to head and not concede their differences. It would have been possibly one of the most iconic sports moments I had ever witnessed if I had seen Niko and Karrigan shake hands or personally congratulate each other on their accomplishments. I truly do believe that they could have been one of the most insane duos to date, and hopefully can craft a good rivalry once G2 gets their shit together. This series is fucking excellent man.
Finally ending my watch through of this epic series, thanks Richard! My 2 cents for Navi: I agree with most, what was said, but am slightly more confident that Navi would have been one of the greatest team of all time, maybe even overtaken astralis. Reason for that is what happens after the war struck: They STILL got to the major final. Still could have snuck it. Still nearly one cologne if it wasn't for 2 rounds. Basically all navi would have had to do is be better than faze. And no one can tell me that a navi without the terrible external factors would have been that. Next major rio? Navi would have had such an easy bracket, of course by that point they would be stable enough (mentally) to not choke against furia. So for me navi is not only the era that never was: it's the what if greatest team of all time. A bit sad all in all.
I think the heyzeus video is really good. It never goes into whether they should be hated or liked but rather just showed why they were hated. And for someone who doesn't actually do journalism it is really well put together. Far better than a lot of the political shit I've been reading the past week, and that's from professionals (make of that what you will I guess)
This faze was my favorite team of all time. I love watching the niko fanboys hearts break every tournament as the king of underachievement does it again.
I'd probably take Navi to win a h2h also, but giving them the edge in firepower is asinine tbph. Electronic, even at the peak of his powers, doesn't touch this era of Niko or Rain if we're being honest. And by extension, neither would b1t. 2017 HLTV top 20 had FOUR Faze players - Niko #2, Rain #4, Guardian #9, Olofmeister #19. And even after Faze imploded, they still had three players finishing in the top 20 in 2018. *** For some statistical context for my fellow csgo nerds: After Guardian and Olof joined, Rain had 9/10 consecutive events with a 1.12 rating or higher, 6 of the first 8 being over 1.2 with the only lower one being the first event in Malmo. Comparing 2017 Rain to 2021 b1t - Rain has a higher KPR, ADR, Impact rating, overall rating, HLTV top 20 ranking, and was the #2 CT sided player in the world as a rifler. When you look at Rain's 2018 year, including Faze's fall off, he has the same rating, the same KPR, higher ADR, higher impact, and essentially the same consistency. And Rain did all of this as a devoted entry fragger. Superteam Faze Rain > finalboss Navi b1t. This also all assumes we're comparing Rain to b1t as the #2 rifler, even though his stats were better than electronic's as well.
@@sexhaver_420 I view it the exact same way in terms of likely outcome, but I think on pure firepower, Faze definitely has it. On impactful firepower? Can't argue against the goat on the most important and powerful weapon in the game.
I get that this was meant to be the FaZe in 2018, but in 2017 NiKo was #2 and rain was #4 on the HLTV top 20, and thats not even talking about olofmeister and GuardiaN... I genuinely think that in that new roster's honeymoon in late 2017 they'd be stronger than prime 2021 NaVi, pretty much solely due to how well rain was playing at the time.
Bit late but I find the Was NaVi Denied An Era talk a bit silly. They beat the full FaZe team at Kato and lost against G2 after the invasion happened. I'm very confident they would have won Kato if it wasn't for the invasion. After that, the "nerfed" NaVi with not that much practice anymore from what they've said in interviews still hardly lost any series, only one almost meaningless one to Heroic and 2 against FaZe, one of which was a major final. NaVi against the better competition as Thorin mentioned still was beating everyone except FaZe and made another major final. So we know that a presumably worse navi was still beating the better competition except for one team that is just a few percentages better
People never mention how faze with jks for ropz played navi at Katowice in the groups before the war happened It was a close series but idk how much you take away from that one bo3 Edit: it was the full lineup so no sub

Crazy to think that by the time this series finishes 2022 FaZe might have a good shot at this bracket run
@@samwalker4142 I think if they get the grand slam you have to put them there, but you have a great point about 2018 astralis and Stockholm navi
I think they need two years of dominance before they can even crack the final. I'm a huge karrigan/current faze fan if that matters :)

always looking forward to this series, it’ll be a sad day when RL is fully gone…
Richard is the GOAT of eSports
No one's ever really gone...
Thank you for keeping Time Travel LAN alive
Loving this series so much - gonna be something I rewatch once a year just for the nostalgia
Been really enjoying these time travel lan videos, keep it up lads
think it went unnoticed how epic the intro to this series is. whoever it was that made it, right on.
The first frame we see... Moses and Spunj seem to be holding their laugh, and Thorin with a smug smile on his face hahahah
Really glad you're making this series before you're fully gone.
Such a good series, excited to see how the following matchups pan out. All love
One of my favorite episodes of this series so far!
when are the tickets available for the lan, this series is hyping me up for the event!
@johnflicted i’m american all i need to do is go back in time

The world of hypotheticals is so interesting. I'm glad this series got made.
I read that "the world of hypocriticals" and i just thought that was funny. Have a nice day :)
this next one is gonna be a very good one with sk/lg and tl
Love this series
Simple going to play valorant would be the esports equivalent of Micheal Jordan going to play baseball
except simple would actually be good at valorant
Baseball is a fairly poor comparison.
I look so forward to these LFG
Time Travel Lan is the analyst Last Dance
still think this content would be SO banger for LoL with monte thorin and Flowers
when thorin brought up guardians settings, he missed that guardian has 1.2 zoom sens which is why it looks like he has a higher epdi than 600.
I'm really hoping we are going to get a juicy video about all these bans for tbagging going on rn. Shit is absolutely absurd.

i think people forget Navi was still the best team in the world at katowice until the invasion. they beat the new faze team there before losing to G2
They also beat the Faze without jks, their best form at the time
was this actually filmed in June?
