Do yourself a favor and listen to the whole "Rumours" album. One of the most significant albums in rock history.
I'll second that. It's great from start to finish.
Still the number 1 album in my eyes. Amazing music
Very true
Better yet, listen to anything from the self titled album--- Not the one from 1975, but the one from 1968. It will really blow you away. That record was recorded by the real Fleetwood Mac: Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer.
@@Terribleathletes What did you say? I couldn't hear you over the sound of all the cash registers ringing up 45 million copies of "Rumours".
Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham were a couple. After they broke up they both wrote songs digging at each other. Check out “Go Your Own Way!”
I think Gold Dust Woman was another one of those too. I can’t imagine how awkward touring after that had to be!
Plus, Christine McVie and John McVie got divorced. The whole band was going through it.
And she wrote songs about it to, for example You Make Loving Fun is about Christine McVie’s relationship with their lighting director.
@@elbruces I forgot about them. It amazed us all that they still sang together. Stevie and Lindsey were a lot more toxic.
But they still didn't break the Chain.
The whole Rumors album is about relationships. 'The Chain' is how even when relationships are stressful and breaking, the music and the band keeps them together.
If she goes down the Fleetwood Mac rabbit hole, there are so many to choose from
And taking lots of coke.
"About relationships" is an overly polite euphemism. "Rumours" is an album for, by, and about people cheating on each other.
"Chains " keep us together. The band was a mess when they wrote this album. Twisted relationships, unfaithfulness, and deceit was the foundation of this masterpiece album
All true, BUT they were also brilliant musicians.
This is also, perhaps, the only Fleetwood Mac song where all five of them have writing credit.
It was a Soap opera on wax!
That bass gets me at the end every time
It was the basis of the song. They'd been working on a Christine McVie tune and it just wasn't coming together but they loved the bass breakdown. So they kept that and Lindsey went off to see what he could come up with and everyone else chimed in with ideas - the only Fleetwood Mac song credited to all 5 members.
Pretty sure that bass-riff was the first thing I learned to play back when I dabbled, it's super easy to play, but it slaps *SO* hard!!
The "Rumors" album is one of the most complete albums ever made.
Agreed but it’s spelled: Rumours
EVERY song on their Rumors album is fire. It may be the greatest album ever made.
*Rumours*
One of the best albums of all time
"Is it about a relationship in the band?" Ohhh, you have NO idea... The whole album is a document to the band's imploding relationships. There were two couples and Mick Fleetwood, the drummer. These days, singers drop hate tracks dissing an ex. This lot made their exes sing and play on the damn track...
well...lets not forget that Mic and Stevie hooked up after she and Lindsey imploded
Try "Go Your Own Way" or "Dreams" too.
Sara is one of my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs. So good!!!
Good Afternoon Jayy. So glad you did Fleetwood Mac. They are such a Great Band!!!
In this song, Fleetwood Mac touched the little girl that's still inside you. There's not much of her left, you know. But the magical music of the Mac knows how to find it, and let it shine for a bit. Thank you, Dearie, for making yourself available, so we can see the magic at work. You're beautiful.
You can't go wrong with anything off the Rumours LP, one of the all time classics!
Each band member has such talent brought together you have MAGIC.
The whole Rumors album is worth listening to. Stevie Nicks voice is awesome as well as everyone else in that band
Fleetwood Mac is awesome. Check out their live 1976 performance of 'Rhiannon'. It'll blow you away.
Best live performance ever!!!
OMG EXACTLY!!! THE LAST TWO MINUTES🤯🤯
That whole band was one big soap opera.
And it made for some freaking amazing music
Sex drugs and rock and roll
Someone said it was like watching mom and dad argue in the kitchen
YOU HAD TO BE THERE , The 1970s were FANTASTIC ,, Music like This flooded the whole ten years , FROM THE 1ST SECOUND OF 1970 , Tell Th last second of 1979,, I WAS THERE
@@theodoreritola9758 When the Hippie Music turned to Disco, it was brutal! I WAS THERE! I WAS A DANCING FOOL!
Possibly the most well timed bass riff ever played.
Awesome song!! Shows contribution from all 5 members.
Lindsey leads with Stevie main background but you can hear Christine in harmony too.
Mick on drums and John on bass, especially when his solo hits, then Mick, then a bit of Lindsey, all of sudden its everyone!!
Chains...keep us together.
Recommend Rhiannon, ck out the live version.
You'll love it!!
Keep up your awesome reactions lady!! 👍❤
Listen to Stevie Nicks “Rhiannon”. About a witch. Sooo good!!
'Rhiannon' happened to be a semi legendary queen of Whales, who we would call these days an enchantress. A witch is just so 'witchy', even Nicks said that once she read the story it took her 15mins to write the song!
@@beerthug “Wales” not whales.
@@sandraagus7419 Not the mistake I'd make on purpose. But hey that's good, you found a spelling error in that.
One of the BEST all-time selling albums.
I grew up listening to Fleetwood Mac. Rumors is their best album. And I LOVE the way you have your hair. It looks so adorable. In Fleetwood Mac they all slept with each other.
No, they did not all sleep with each other.
No, they did not. Stevie Nicks/Lindsey Buckingham were a couple when they joined the band; they broke up and Stevie dated Mick Fleetwood for a while. John and Christine McVie were married but going through some problems. Neither of them dated within the band.
@@wandaminter9421 - yes, they pretty much all did. Christine has come out and said she had an affair with Lindsey Buckingham. They all were doing drugs and John McVie was an alcoholic. And I wouldn't say little Ms. McVie dated Lindsey; let's just say they screwed each other.
@@SweetThing I did not know that...hmmm. Can you remember where you saw that? I'd love to read it.
I mean I knew John McVie's issues with alcohol. And, I knew Christine had a relationship with the band's sound engineer (Martin Birch) and then later, their lighting director (Curry Grant). I never heard of her and Lindsey on a personal level.
*Rumours* is the title.
When Fleetwood Mac rolls up, it's all ear candy. unfortunately, Christine McVie just passed, but Stevie is still out touring at 74. I just love them, you'll love all their music, as well as Stevie's solo stuff!!!!!
Jayy nailed it two of the band members had a rift in their relationship.
4 members
“A rift” heehee
One of the most talented bands ever assembled. Stevie Nicks an icon and one the best singers and writers of all time. Yet, the band is awesome even without her. That’s just how great they all are. More Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks solo, please!
The whole Rumours album is fantastic. So many affairs, so many drugs, so much awesome music.
You nailed it! Whole album tells the tale! A true heartbreak masterpiece!
When most non rockers think of rock and roll they picture head banging music without knowing that there are so many sub genres of rock. Glad you can appreciate music I've loved for 40+ years.
Mick was such a great drummer. The Chain is an object lesson in how to give your band some space to play in. Nobody is doing too much. Just playing the parts.
Was?
He still is. :)
👍👍 That whole album is good!!!✌
One of the very best albums of all time. Every song is worthy.
You seem to always hit it spot on. Lead singer & guitarist were in love to each other & were breaking up at time. They were smart business people & overcame it by putting differences aside & continue to play music together as a group. So glad you found this group. Keep listening to their songs & I know you will put them there right on top of your list with Elvis, that I know you so much love. You won’t be disappointed by any song of theirs, they are all great. That’s why it’s ludicrous to even suggest a song. Take all of them, put in bucket & pull one out. I guarantee it will be great.
Great !!!! I ♥️ Stevie voice!!!!! 👍
I keep listening out for Murray Walker!
Me too. Go Go Go.
Unless I'm very much mistaken....so am I!😉
Had to ban this from the car....I am not a Formula one driver, apparently
Yep - part of my growing up. Blew my mind when I first listened to Rumours because I was like Jayy often is on these reactions. I knew just that one bit.
Next do “Dreams” or “Go Your Own Way.” It’s all about heartbreak, but they do it so well.
Add in Songbird for an emotional finish
I love the guitar solo - from 4:38 to 4:57 it's all the same note (other than the octave jump at 4:50) but he makes it meaningful.
I am lucky enough to have seen them in concert probably 5 times and Stevie alone probably 7 times. They sound just as amazing now. Best show I’ve ever seen them at was at Nikon theatre at Jones Beach on Long Island in NY. It’s an open air, small coliseum on the beach. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
When covid is over I’ll be going to my first concert
Girl, your interpretation of the meaning of the song is 100% on point! 👍 I have loved Fleetwood Mac and their catalogue was one of a kind. Thank you for reacting to this song!
Fleetwood Mac - I'm so afraid" pleeeeease listen to it!
I would love to hear your reaction to "Nights in White Satin" Moody Blues and Janis Joplin "Summertime"
I second that emotion!!
that bass solo...the most famous bass solo ever.....and in the middle of the song
Not a bad track on this album ... seriously, one of the great albums ... ever.
I wish they played that song more on thr rsdio
Personally speaking, for me this is one of the best vinyls ever recorded, if not the best.
I love their song "Hold Me"
Favorite song from them. Get it!
Great song!
They have a double album, Fleetwood Mac Live, from the early 80s, when they were at the top of their game. It is one of the best live albums I've ever heard, but it didn't really sell like the others did. Anyway, I saw them live right when Rumours was about to debut, opening for the Eagles with new member Joe Walsh right before Hotel California came out. The Chain was one of the memorable songs that day, with I'm So Afraid and Never Going Back Again. Boz Scaggs was the opener, a great day!
Thanks for posting Jayy!
Damn, I wish I could have been at that show!
Your optimism shone through your interpretation so genuinely--I'm sure you've looked up the band by now and know their relationship dynamics of the time, so you were spot-on about its meaning. You just had an extra hopeful perspective that maybe the band weren't feeling so much at the time :)
Music reaction is often like an auditory Rorschach, and it's that part of you that shines through that will earn you more subscribers, I think. Your enthusiasm and positivity are what people are needing more of these days.
Best of luck to you!
When I was a kid my aunt and uncle lived in Northern California and had no radio reception so my parents bought them a record player. They gave them Fleetwood Mac rumors and Eddie money two tickets to paradise
Stevie is great. I so love Lindsay. I love his singing and the guitar work is incredible
🤘🤘❤🤘🤘😁✌🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Rumors is such a fantastic complete album where they aired all of their laundry Open to the world!!!!! Masterpiece.
One of the best albums ever made!
One of the best rock albums ever. Another great song from album is Rhiannon, it's about a Welsh witch.
Thank you for loving this song and sharing it with a new generation !! 1977 !! part of the soundtrack of my life
All rock songs have a build up to a crescendo. Even easily listening rock. This is what makes them so good in their own way.
This group is iconic you should definitely check out more of their music and also Stevie Nicks has some really awesome songs in her solo career one of my personal favorites is Edge of Seventeen I think you would really enjoy that one
Rumors is one of those albums you love every song beginning to end 😃💯
The 10 second headbang after the song finished means the song left a footprint
one of my top 10 fav songs of all time
You are so awesome and am delighted that you reacted to Fleetwood Mac......they have sooooooooo many great songs......do yourself a favor and react to as many as you can!😁😁👍👍😘
Linsdy Buckeham is one of the most unique Guitar Players of all Time.
Next I would suggest checking out their song Rihannon.
I LOVE them! Seen them 7 or 8 times. They are all awesome. Lyndsay Buchanan is so freaking talented! That's him on guitar and front vocals. They are all so talented. ❤✌
Every rumors song is a home run.
I'm not so keen on Oh Daddy though.
Rock Gods, there right up there.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time, I remember growing up to this listening to these classics with my dad
for years the last part was used to introduce formula 1 grand prix racing on bbc.a top class tune
Brittany Spears breaks up with someone writes a song about it. Stevie breaks up writes a song about it and then makes her ex play guitar on the song.
Or Christine sings about the lighting tech while John plays Bass in You Make Loving Fun.
Those guys were savage before it became fashionable!
This is a song that takes you on a journey.
You are correct.
It is about relationships within the band.
The story is amazing in relation to the song.
'Rumours' was my first and
still top 5!
Lindsay Buckingham guitar kicks ass.
Listen to "hold me".
ur great, love u girl. just keep doing you
Best album!!! Beginning to end
Fleetwood Mac broke all the rules and still managed to stay together for decades. Well for the most part.
Songbird. Will utterly blow your mind.
I love how you picked on all that just from listening to it for the first time. My first time hearing it, I was just blown away by the vocals, the instruments the whole arrangement. You felt all that and the story behind it so fast. Impressive. This song still blows me away after so many years. Every time!!!
Great reaction! Some of my faves:
Go Your Own Way
Dreams
Landslide
Sara
That guitar is awesome in that song
Lindsey Buckingham was a mentor on American Idol.
Lindsay Buckingham is an underrated lead guitarist!
Oh oh check out "Dreams "by Fleetwood Mac!!!!!
The live version from 1982 is the one of the best live performance of all time. It’s up there with Alice In Chains unplugged.
See music was more end of the sixties I remember as young as I was rocking and rolling since I was three years old us 1968 songs with more desegregated what I mean is even Soul Train had some white groups on their shows and we were more prone to listening to I'm going to depreciate all kinds of music almost if you can get into a music that takes you to another place like I like this music because it takes me deep in a country it makes me picture things and I've lived in a deep country and loved it people like to say we doing listen to that black music or white music some of everybody's got soul oh you can rock and roll and rock and roll was actually created by afro Americans it doesn't matter if you have a voice and you can sing sing it let everybody listen
At the time, Stevie Nick's, the singer and Lyndsay Buckingham, the guitarist were in the process of breaking up. So were John McVeigh and his wife Christine, the bass player and keyboard player respectfully. Mick Fleetwood, the drummer was also getting divorced and the whole band were consuming industrial quantities of Cocaine. Despite that, they created one of the greatest rock albums in history.
This is my all time favorite from them... for all the reasons you mentioned... You have one of the best varieties of of music you react to... great reactions ❤️👍🏻
White band with soul 😀 check out their live concert it was amazing
That solo turns my little Nissan into a Challenger on the highway
Stevie Nicks wrote the main lyrics. She gave them to the band to flesh out the song. Her ex, Lindsey Buckingham, sang lead-to her words-and played lead guitar.
The whole album was a breakup album. Listen to it all, start to finish.. you will not regret it
Amazing band
Check out their song "Tusk"...has a whole different flavor
Try out Dreams, Go Your Own Way, or Rhiannon. Live in 1976 or1977 are great.
One of the best concerts ever!
Ole Mick Fleetwood back there on the drum kit.
All the songs on this album are about the various acrimonious break-ups going on at that time and this song is no exception. It’s about having the will to stick things out for the sake of the band and specifically the songs like links in a chain which also tied Lindsey and Stevie to the band.
Please react to FLEETWOOD MAC - BIG LOVE
Good job listening to the lyrics. Yeo, they were breaking up. Rumors the album tells you all about it.
Buckingham is one of the best, most understated, yet amazing guitarists in pop music history. If you really want to hear him at his best, check out his acoustic work on Never Going Back Again and his solo live versions of Big Love.
They have a good sound
Great commentary. 👌💯
