Getting wheel and "cockpit" would be cool but why does it cost almost like buying an actual car lol.

Yeah, it's not a small investment and takes a lot of space so it can be an inconvenience too. I would recommend buying cheap entry level wheel first and try it out before spending top dollar on a sim rig.
