The guard when you show him papers with someone else's photo: - No way, Jose. The same guard less than minute later, when you show him different set of documents with a different name and photo: - Understandable, have a nice day.
Things I did not know during my first play through (as I did not understand English back then): 1. It's a stealth mission. 2. The agressive soldiers are asking for papers and not asking me to surrender. 3. This was the peak of Medal Of Honor series.
In my original gameplay not only I loved to show "my" document to everyone getting respect, I hated the part when player set the bomb his cover is immediately blown. This could totally be a fun Hitman 47 gameplay
Normandy was my first embarrassing gaming memory. I distinctly remember throwing a grenade upwards towards the bunkers, watch it fail to reach the opening and then drop right down beside me.
If I'm not mistaken, the team from this era of MOH would go on to make COD. There's definitely a lot from Frontline and Allied Assault that carries over into COD's DNA.
"I am a spy." *Meet the Spy theme plays* Also the fact that they have added HDI Pistol (I think that's what. It's Called) Is a nice touch. That pistol Is heavily underpresented.
This was one of those levels that 10 year old me hardly had the mental capacity to complete. Also the German characters models freaked me out, my heart was racing the whole time.
I can't believe this video appeared on my recommendations. I felt a pure surge of nostalgia watching this video! I will play his game once again when time comes when I stream! Thank you for the motivation.
2006 год, на улице зима, ты с 7 утра расчищал снег ну улице, потом позавтракав пельменями сел проходить миссию по уничтожению радара и подводной лодки. Верните плиз 2006😢
That, and German officers knew each other so well, they can actually tell that you're a spy when showing your papers. 2:15 Here, you'll have to discreetly kill the officer in order to obtain the necessary documents. Otherwise, the guards won't let you pass, or worse, will shoot you if you try doing otherwise anyway.
i used to play this game obsessively back in the day, especially the multiplayer. it got so bad that i couldn't even sleep without dreaming about multiplayer matches. it had taken over my mind. thats when i knew i had to quit. truly, one of the goats. also, i installed a mod once for this mission that replaces the "show passport" animation with a flipping the middle finger gesture. i wish i could find it again but its probably 20 years old at this point.
I am Russian, and that was my one of the favorite games of the childhood. My grandfather showed it to me, and I have many memories of it. I remember, how I was surprised, because suddenly you should not shoot everyone in this mission. I think that is how I began to love stealth games :)
My great grandfather was a spy all through WW2. He was born in Germany and never even left Europe. He was so good at it, he enlisted in the German Army, fought the Soviets, and the Americans. He never once broke character through out the entire war. Never even gave up any info to the allies. Thats commitment.
Neat that this one lets you stealth, I remember playing MOH frontline and it having a mission where you sneak into a manor to rescue a guy, you go around back to the servants entrance where the guard knows instantly you are an imposter, starting a messy shootout.
Easy. Did with no saves no Deaths all soldiers saved even made videos but no views so deleted wtf this video get views while mine 0 and it was years prior
They've paid a lot of attention to details in the game. The reason for having to re-cock the pistol every time you fire is because it uses subsonic bullets. (The power of the sub-sonic bullets is not enough to re-cock the pistol automatically, so we have to re-cock it manually) Additionally, in the part where we attack the military airbase with a jeep, the soldier driving the vehicle was able to actively use the gas, brake, and clutch pedals, and change gears it was such an amazing game, they don't care about the details anymore..
One of my favorite games of all time-- why can't they remake this type of game?! Old FPS games (this, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Half Life, Doom 3, etc) were MUCH better than the modern day FPS single player campaigns. Much better gaming experience (single player) on the harder difficulty levels than newer games. You don't just run in guns blazing, you have to have some strategy to succeed.
The sad thing is you can't even trust most of these companies to simply remake/remaster an old game without completely ruining it and or it somehow resulting in a downgrade. I'd literally murder somebody for a properly remade RTCW though, a guy on YT has made some really good 'remastered' RTCW levels through Unreal Engine 4 though which shows you what it would look like, and I'd give my left nut for it Id software (or Bethesda if they have the rights) to do that.
Call of Duty 1 was very much on par with Medal of Honor - the full symphony music was absolutely amazing as well. The early 2000s WWII games were an experience to behold.
This is Medal of Honor, espionage deep behind enemy lines, papieren, fun as hell shooting, epic orchestral music, only lacks some comedic part to be peak MoH.
О, медаль за отвагу. Помню первый шок когда началась миссия по высадке в Нормандии с пулеметами и перебежками. А потом последующее прохождение ради достижения всех наград..
I miss playing these. Never played the later games, but from what I heard, wasnt the same. I stopped at Airborne for anyone who interested and didnt have Allied Assault or Infilrator, only Playstation 1/2 games + the first hero for PSP.
I always wondered how did your cover blown when you plant the charge inside the ship? Especially when you killed all German soldiers and if they're weren't any German soldiers in there or that room!
There's a neat reaction where if you show it to an officer, he says "Welcome to Germany, american." you can also board the submarine as a pacifist too.
The cost of making game goes up exponentially, even today EA wants to create a similar game with modern graphic it would cost maybe hundreds times of budge to achieve, and the final earning probably can't even cover it. It's also one of the reasons big studios stop making single player FPS campaigns.
Concerning the reaction of the officer with the second papers, I didn't remember he as immediatly pointing the gun at you. First he started to say things in German concerning your uniform and sht that wasn't in order. Back then I was learning German and I understood him, and realizing he was recognising me, got the gun and shot him immediately. Was cool, bc it felt very cinematic.
Imagine u are chilling one moment in the base u were asigned to and 1 Minute later alarms sound, u go to the corridor and all of the other soldiers are dead.

i guess that soldier had a short term memory 😂
Unlikely, there was a photograph
Seems like "the army method": dont think just do what you told to do
He lacks object preeminence. As soon as he went upstairs into the room with the other officer, he might as well fell off the face of the planet. 😅
Papier bitte,zeig mir Ihre Papiere
The fact you NODDED to that german officer after showing your papers is one of the best gestures you could have towards an NPC
And yet he didn't listen to the hyperactive scientist. Or even stop by the window near the level start to watch the guys dance.
Things I did not know during my first play through (as I did not understand English back then):

Normandy was my first embarrassing gaming memory. I distinctly remember throwing a grenade upwards towards the bunkers, watch it fail to reach the opening and then drop right down beside me.
Medal of honor was so ahead of its time. This espionage mission was repeated in COD WW2 and it was a pretty good mission too
If I'm not mistaken, the team from this era of MOH would go on to make COD. There's definitely a lot from Frontline and Allied Assault that carries over into COD's DNA.

A 22 year old game offering a more realistic gameplay than fucking CoD Vanguard really tells a lot about the current situation of our gaming industry.
Its the woke medias fault! They are behind evwrything bad!
1:21 Early on when the game first came out people figured out how to spawn that submarine on MP maps.
