I love how much you guys invest in making RUclips content and improving it. Just seeing the microphone setup change in Coffee break is awesome. Question though...I know its gonna vary from area to area and build to build, but is there an insight you can give as to what the difference in price is between an actual custom home and home built for mass appeal quickly like most of the suburban homes are? I guess in simpler terms im wondering is a true custom well built home doing a 1.0 blower door be 50% more or double a house thats blowing a 5.0ACH (min code for my area)? My wife and are in the early steps of looking for our next place, and we are really considering purchasing a couple acres and having an architect/builder come out.

This is such a great channel. On my renovation I had a few builders come in and say, let's tear it down, it's not worth saving. I do understand their point but showed a big red flag in how to start a relationship with a client. Had they listened to my vision for the property they probably would have enjoyed the process. The hardest part of the process was finding a builder in our area that would do a smaller project as the business model of good builders near us is to do massive projects. Suffered through some missteps, but now I am the person who is spending weekends shining it up slowly (as I stare at the unfinished mantel). Have to say I don't mind, love seeing the progress.

I absolutely LOVE your show. Thank you for sharing your story and insight with us. If anything, you guys give me inspiration for my small handyman/cutting board side business.

I would add that churches are a good place to see about repurposing appliances. They usually know folks that need things.

Huge fan of your work, your videos, and of you and your team. Thanks for peeling back the curtain to help other's learn.
Question: do you think you can achieve a quality like yours without having been a tradesman/craftsman of any sort?

Anything that you place on OfferUp or Craigslist. I had people taking old cabinets, toilets, bathtubs and even countertop that was cut in half. I was amazed but best part I saved $$$ getting a dumpster. The secret is to advertise for Free.

That black spot (not sure what it is. Looks like an IR remote port for some type of appliance but, really, no idea) right behind your left hand is very distracting for me. With a busy, mechanical backdrop, sure. Pure white with one black spot next to your hand? Come on, man. Its almost like I’m being punked. “Watch me talk about quality, detail and precision but, ignore the unexplained black dot next to my hand”? Maybe would be easier if you didn’t speak with your hands as much but, regardless, I feel slightly insulted.

I thought I was the only one who is bothered a bit by that spot. I guess it's my mild OCD.
