- Hi I'm Wendy a resin artist and crafter.
In this video I am making something I have wanted to make for a very long time and never gotten round too. It could scare off so many resin crafters just by the thought of it. It is a project that took so long to make I very nearly didn't get it done in time for this video.
I really want to see if you can guess what it is as the video progresses.

I hear so many resin artists say.. “ I just don’t have that kind of patience.” Or.. “ I couldn’t wait that long.” I definitely understand those sentiments and of course if you need to get your next video out.. you can’t wait. But, this project took patience that few people have. This is the kind of patience that my Grandpa had and I’ve never compared my Grandpa’s patience to anyone or to any endeavor. Very cute bear!!! I love doing cross stitch!! I even have a computer program that allowed me to take pictures and turn them into cross stitch patterns. It more than paid for itself by creating unique patterns.

Omgosh! As I began watching this I got so excited because for Christmas I made my son a minecraft sword with this exact mold! It was nowhere as big as your project, but oh, did I have a time making it! Lol Getting the blocks to stay straight etc! I wish I had thought about the dots between the blocks!

@@Toonpish oh you will figure something out! I have faith in you :) I would make a large shallow mould for it and then pour a thin layer of white resin in it… you would have a solid piece, guaranteeing that the pieces never come apart…

That is just amazing, Wendy. I did a resin block with those little squares in a while back....about the size of a Rubics cube.....I lost patience halfway through 😅😂....I take my hat off to you. Can't wait to see the finished piece.

i have mentioned you in two tutorials i made. i hope youtube will notify you that i did so. Those two tutorials are about 2 years old or so. I would love for you to watch them,
if you can find the time. It is similar to what you did in this tutorial and maybe you can find some ideas how to achieve what you need.
I really like the idea of a mosaic, made with resin and it works really well.

I've thought about this kind of project a LOT! And I just happen to have three of these exact kind of tray molds. Thank you for showing how to work it out!! It seemed so overwhelming, but the satisfaction of all those tiny cubes renews my interest LOL

I guessed panda first, then a cow (because of the black spots), but what it became, is much better. I've done mosaics, so I know how therapeutic putting together a picture from small pieces is. I've never worked with polyurethane resin, but would it have been possible to brush the mica on the mold to get a more intense colour? The end-result is adorable, being patient paid off!
Polyurethane resin doesn’t pick up mica as well and could have ended up patchy. But it could work 😀😀💜

Because of the cubes I did figure out early on that you had used a cross-stitch pattern but I only saw the bear in the last minute or so - I was thinking 'cat' when you gave us the 'paws' clue!
