- Raising hand hewn timber frame cabin walls with our students by the end our traditional carpentry class. All timbers are hand hewn and joinery made only with hand tools using medieval scribe rule centre line layout/reference system. The frame will be completed during our next 10 day carpentry class what will start tomorrow. Hands, not machines.
It's wonderful knowing that the old skills are still being practiced.
The Northmen Guild has given me life changing inspiration. I’m about to embark on a 5,000 sq ft. timberframe milling everything myself and I would not have had the courage to fulfill this dream without seeing others walking ahead of me on the path.

I love the whole "hands, not machines" approach to something on this scale. It just seems like it would be a very pure and gratifying form of carpentry.

You guys need to make more content like when you first started 7-10 years ago. A lot of it is no longer watchable but was super inspiring. The new stuff is good too but a mix would be nice! Or at least be able to watch the old stuff!
