The Bruce Campbell cameos is because he is Sam Raimi's close friend. Campbell appears in all the Raimi's Spiderman films. They started their cinematic careers togheter by filming the Evil Dead.

Bruce Campbell actually makes cameos in every movie that Sam Raimi directs that I’m aware of (not just the Spiderman films) because if you’ve noticed in doctor strange multiverse of madness which is directed by Sam rami has a Bruce Campbell cameo
A fun fact about the Green Goblin missions is that the VA for Harry (Josh Keaton) was originally casted as Spider-Man (fittingly given his future in the role) when they weren't sure if they were gonna get Tobey.
So when you hear the same lines repeated in levels by him those were likely recorded BEFORE Tobey's.
Glad they actually used that voice work for a great fun concept like a Goblin mode. Also cool that the Goblin has an alternate costume (enemy not playable) if you use the Alex Ross spidey suit.
This game is way too slept on. Main menu song is such a throwback!!

Green Goblin will always be one of the best unlockables in gaming history. Anything that lets me play a game I like in a different way is top tier.
Fr, there was so much fun unlockables in this game, and the Goblin mode having it's own story with unique dialogues was amazing. Nowadays, something like this on a Spider-Man game would be locked behind a paywall...

Unlocking and playing as the Goblin was always fun...good memories.
As a kid I figured out that if you used the cheats to unlock all the levels and then just complete the last level & unlock the green goblin mode and then just go from there lmao
Remember there’s a cheat code where we play as MJ, and the hilarious part is where she kisses herself at the Brooklyn Bridge. But one of my all time favourite is the Alex Ross Spider-Man costume.

This game was a powerhouse back in the day. It required a 3D card on the PC if you wanted to play the PC version which was very uncommon back in those days. Definitely one of my fav Spider Man game and I loved the aesthetics which captured the first movie so well in the game.
Tobey calling Shocker "Quilt man, Triple-Ply? No, The Cushion!" in this game is burned into my brain.
12:00 the first amazing Spider-Man game also had bruce Campbell in it, I don't remember if his missions were dlc tho.
It also had the raimi suit but that was a downloadable costume you needed a code for. The black raimi suit is an unlockable in the game by default though.
He was a guy in some side missions that acted as web swinging/zipping minigame trials. He was recording you with a drone and commenting on your performance
This was one of my first games ever, I remember some of the oscorp levels scaring the crap out of me as a kid 😂

Oh man I remember where we have to do stealth in that level. The difficulty is not to get caught, cause it’ll be instant game over if you get spotted not to mention those annoying robots they bring.
Me too! I had the hardest time beating it and it was scary, I think I remember rushing through instead of playing properly and that was the only way I beat it.
After that moment I always did that in games.

The Bruce Campbell cameo comes from sam raimi and Bruce bring good friends. Bruce is in damn near every single movie or project that raimi has made. It's really cool. It's why he was in multiverse of madness as well!

Currently replaying The Amazing Spider-Man for the 360 and realized Bruce Campbell is also the voice of the guy in the blimp that gives you the extreme challenges! Pretty neat they brought him back for that game.
I’m 30 yrs old and you gave me a BLAST TO THE PAST with demo discs!!!!! I LOVED those things when I was a kid. I would literally replay them when I loved the games on it. I discovered Xenogears on a demo disc and TO THIS DAY, that’s the only time I’ve played the game 😔. PLEASE make a video on demo discs 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I appreciate when these older games have easy to use cheat codes. It makes it easier to work through the bits of “jank” and still have a good time if you want to replay them. This one has aged pretty well, but if nothing else, just balancing out a higher difficulty with the infinite webbing cheat makes it a pretty smooth experience if you’re getting frustrated.
I remember always getting frustrated at the Shocker sections in this game as a kid.
One thing I don't like about this game is the sheer number of robotic enemies. I get that Spider-man fights big robots in the comics, but he's only just become Spider-man in this so it just seems odd that he'd be fighting them so soon. Plus, how can Norman even afford to invent all these robots anyway?
The manuals are such an underrated piece of art I still miss in all the new games. I remember going to school and taking the manual with me so I could study it, read it and learn all the backstory getting me ready for when I could finally come home and play it all evening. Nowadays you’re lucky if you get one extra tiny sliver of a page which basically just has ads lol we live in a downgraded universe now! Such a small detail but it changes everything

Ah, this game. I remember getting it for the PC of all things (I didn't have a GC or PS2 yet). What was hilarious, that was patched out of the Greatest Hits version, was that there was a cheat so you could play as Mary Jane in a dress. The ending had Peter Parker make out with Mary Jane. Yeah, you could have Mary Jane make out with herself.
I also remember playing this on Xbox with the exclusive Kraven The Hunter mission. At the time as a kid I didn’t even know it was exclusive.
YESSS this is the only spiderman game ive ever played and it was amazing. Had it on GameCube and loved how it changed things from the movie but still felt like the movie in ways

When I got my first GameCube back when I was in 5th grade, My mom took me to Walmart to pick out one game. This was the game I chose and I had ZERO regrets. Becoming the Green Goblin with cheats was the peak of my childhood.

I am glad they made this game as it paved the way for spiderman 2. Also tobey doing the voice over was awesome, some actors do not really care about movie tie in games.

I agree with the gamespot review: this game is at its best when you're outdoors and able to swing around. The game is at its worst though when you're indoors and fighting the camera more than the enemies.

It’s just so surreal to see that Treyarch, which is parent company of Activision made this movie game. The gameplay is basically same as the NeverSoft’s Spider-Man. So much nostalgia here.
They saved the secrets for the game posteeeeeer.... I remember having the poster for this game, noticing some weird combinations of letters and numbers and getting the brilliant idea to type one down on the cheat screen. Just genius. That got my adrenaline pumping

Hot take, but I actually prefer this game over the Spider-Man 2 video game. Crazy I know, but I always loved replaying certain missions over and over again and the open world Spider-Man games just never offered that and would have to either create multiple saves or restarting the game from the beginning.
Also playing those missions so many times leads to some funny moments. In the mission where you have to save MJ from the parade balloon. If you save her quick enough the cutscene is done ingame they'll be having their conversation as the balloon is falling and people are screaming and it was just the funniest thing when I was younger.
I prefer the “God holding my web slinging” and the level select but I Love SM2 more

Playing as green gob is the equivalent of playing as Vergil in dmc 3 special edition

I still own this game on the original XBOX and I remember getting this game on my 13th Birthday. Spider-Man (2002) was my first XBOX game and it was the 1st PG-13 Movie I saw in theaters.
I noticed in the later releases of this game like on the (Greatest Hits / Platinum Hits / Player’s Choice) version removed the cheat of “GIRLNEXTDOOR” which would make it so you can play as Mary Jane. They removed it because it would look like 2 girls were kissing on 2 of the in game cutscenes.
Spider-man alongside with Final Fantasy X were the first games i got for the ps2, good memories
I remember being amused you could unlock and play as Mary Jane, but... the devs chose to avoid controversy at the time because the ending would've had Mary Jane kissing herself, so the ending was cut as a result

Also fun Fact, the Spider-Man video game movie tie in was actually the third instalment of that original spiderman game and its sequel "enter electro" (which was a loose tie in to TAS) and activision came in at the last minute of production and forced them to make the movie tie in because of their contract with sony and they wanted that tie in. They had to rush the whole movie tie in after getting close to a finished 3rd installment.

I bought this game the day it came out and 5 to 6 hours later I had beaten the main story. Playing as the goblin was cool but game was WAY to short.

I recently completed this but only on easy level. If you play on any other level you don't get enough time to disarm the bombs. I'm on Spider-Man 2 right now. Then onto 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 1&2
