None of your work or business planning factored in as much as the fact that you are "young atractive woman" from a first world country speaking a fluent first world language. Most of your buyers are men.
Love watching your videos! I sew book sleeves and I’ve finally reached the point where my machine is too slow and I have a semi-industrial machine ordered and hope to pick it up tomorrow! Such a great feeling!
It's nice to finally see a realistic "how I make $ per month as an artist" video, from a real small business who creates. There are so many videos I see that are just trying to sell some kind of subscription course or service but don't actually make any art/products. And I like how you are honest with explaining the work that you put into it (not a get rich quick thing), a lot of small business owners don't have days off like you mentioned. And how it takes years of working and making before becoming successful/full-time. Lot's of great advice!
Im double your age and have just started my little craft hobby. I find you (and this video in particular) so inspiring. .. Your personaliry shines and you are easy to watch and listen to. Thank you for your time and effort. ❤😊
This gives me hope! I started a candle business in January of 2024 and I've made around $6,000, which isn't a ton but It is good to know that it is a process and that I will have to keep working hard to get to this point one day. Thanks for sharing your story and I appreciate how you talked about diversifying streams of income.
I think it is also worth noting that you have done all of this from a rural area too. It is easy to hit the market circuit in Sydney, not so easy when you are rural NSW. Well done
Thank you so much for sharing all of the things in this ep. You're such a blessing to so many. My daughter has just been diagnosed as you have, I will pass on this vid to her to help her. Such a blessing. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Great video! What would be great is an example of one month less taxes, expenses etc for a view of real profit. Or an example of actual profit on a select overseas order. I think many, who don’t sell their own handmade articles, don’t realize the actual cost to conduct your business. As a small small business, I find it’s a hobby for me, not a retirement fund😂.
@taylahrose love your stuff! Could you do a video about brand deals for someone has no knowledge on how to get them, what to be aware of, how to determine pricing, how to contact companies for brand deals etc?
I would be really intesrested knowing your actual profit after having paid taxes, bought your supplies and all that. Would you be okay making a video about that ? Thanks for this very informative video 🥰 I just started a small crochet business in France and hoping to do well as soon as possible so, working hard and crossing fingers 🤞🏻 Love from France ❤
Hi! Do you have a video that talks about shipping costs, especially international shipping costs? I am starting a tshirt side hustle and, bloody hell, international shipping will kill me before I even get off the ground!!!! Would love to learn how you handle this.
Hi Taylah. Very inspiring video. Thank you. I have a question about RUclips. Being an Australian and creating content in Australia do you need to pay tax in the USA? (Because you tube is USA based) Or do you only need to pay your tax in Australia?
Thanks! So USA and Australia have a tax treaty thing (my accountant does all this for me lol) but I pretty much pay tax here but also pay automatic tax on the payments in the US which gets taken off my Aussie tax. It’s a bit confusing and I’m probably explaining it wrong 🫣🥰
I don’t know how your tax system works out there in Australia, but I really like to know how you file taxes every year? Like do you need to claim the money you made, or it’s hush hush under the table? It’s one thing to say you make over 10 grand a month, when at the end of the year, half of it is getting taxed, so it not that much at the end of the day.
I did child care for years. not suggesting u are a kid far from it. Just letting you know what I did for my ADHD kids . I took them of foods that had food coloring and corn products out of their diet. The difference was like night and day. Just saying it's worth a try. Love watching your u tube videos. God be less you.
Not really, it evens out to be 30/30/30 30% RUclips 30% markets and 30% online with 10% the other stuff So more like 65% merchandise, 35% online for the full 12 months
@@TaylahRose That's great. I haven't been selling well the last couple of years. I don't do markets (where I live there's almost none) and I haven't tried youtube. American is experiencing a bad economy right now.
If it was that easy everybody would be quitting their jobs doing exactly what you're doing. It's not trying to be a hater but nobody makes ten thousand dollars a month just selling crafts

I claim all the money I make but I also spend a lot of money so I don’t pay as much tax (deductions) if your interested in Aussie tax I have a video explaining it on my channel 😊 it’s usually around 15-20% of income but depends how much I claim + gst on top of that

Do you gross 10k a month from your w2 job? Probably not. She's still making more than you.
It's so hard to get monetised on youtube now... it used to be easier!
Yay! AUD!

Takes a lot of effort, but I do? And I know many others that do too. It’s not easy I never said it was.
This is a very detailed and helpful video! Thank you, Taylah! 💝🧡💛💚💙💜🤍
