See, I would use my normal leggings, get a nice tunic- shirt, leather belt, pouches, and half boots and use twine and faux leather chord braided together to wrap around the area above my boots. Arm guards, scabbard, hood and face cover. Boom. My medieval warrior girl is good to go. But... I've made several costumes out of finds at Ross, Walmart, Good Will, Salvation Army, and a few other places. I spend the most money on character enhancers and weapons.
Thank you so much for this! I've never LARPed before, and while I Have been to my local RenFest twice, I didn't dress up either time. I'm going to a medieval ball with my boyfriend and had no idea how to dress. I didn't wanna drop $30+ on an outfit I'll only wear once a year, so I didn't just buy a costume. And I thrift all the time, but I can never think of how to piece items together. So, this was exactly what I needed! Thank you so much! :D
How the bloody hell did u manage to find a size 5!? Lmao. That’s my size and I can NEVER find my size, unless I’m ordering online and even then it’s hit and miss 😂
I'm pretty sure I know what store that is. You wouldn't happen to go to Medieval Chaos would you? That's pretty close. Or do you two go to Aalutan's Nexus? I don't think I've seen either of you at MC😅
Is this a DI somewhere near BYU Idaho by chance? I feel like I took a recent train trip and met the tiny chicka in the video when she was traveling with her Dad during a holiday. If not.... You have a double out there somewhere. Wheeeeeee!
Anyone have recommendations on the best place to get medieval clothing (1150-1335AD) for men (English), women (Iberian) and children that also doesn't look out of place in the modern world? I was thinking that footwear like the following could suit (whilst not necessarily being perfect) Men: Sandals, Espadrilles, Ropes Sandals, Empire Sandals, Leather Thongs, Menorcan Sandals, Gladiator Sandals, Clogs, Monk Strap, Moccasins, Woven Sandals, Suede Loafer, Chukka Boots, Chelsea boots, Plimsolls, Cuban Heel Chelsea Boots, Chukka Desert Boot, Driving Shoes, Women: Strappy Tie-up Sandals, Knotted Suede Toe Post Sandal, Cross Strap flat sandals, Raffia double strap slide sandals, woven leather tie leg sandal, Mules, Clogs, Over the Knee Boots, Ballet Flats, Lace Up Knee High Boots, Stirrup Boots, Slouch Boot, Desert Lace Up Shoes, Cuban heel western Chelsea boot with buckle detail. Likewise, Quilted Clothing (like Quilted Sweatshirt, Quilted Puffer Coat, Quilted Coat, Quilted Tracksuit Pants, Quilted Tracksuit Top, Quilted Jumper) could suffice for Civilian Gambeson. I’m also thinking that Tunics (Knee, Cocktail, Midi or Maxi Length), Leggings, Tights, Long Sleeved V Neck Shirt, Tank Top, Henley Shirt, Track Pants, Hoodie, T-Shirt with Notch Neck, Driving Gloves, Suede Gloves, Leather Gloves could be used. Correct me if I’m wrong
You are the first person I've ever seen who knows ElfQuest! I'm amazed. I thought I was the only Pini fan around!

I had gotten a dress, a shawl, a belt, and some shoes for 8.50 at a thrift store!
I always have trouble finding boots. Thrift stores don't often have women's size 10s. :-/

Just being honest, you totally should've gone with the leather vest with the hood.
But beyond that, everything is great.
