Intelligence is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.

@@ParagonOblivionDexterity is how accurate you are at throwing a tomato at someone.
Strength is how hard you can hit someone with a tomato.
Constitution is how well you can take getting hit by a tomato or being force fed several tomatoes.

This is definitely one of his most "correct" crap guides, everything was explained well and as a person who just started playing (only 2 sessions in) I can say - a lot of confusions of a new player were addressed, and it's still really fun to listen to as usual!

I made a friend who had never seen anything D&D before binge watch these without any context. Followed it with a choice 10 minute clip from Critical Role (ending of The Search for Grog) and he had a very clear understanding of how to play D&D. Brilliant stuff

Ironically this video of his was a major help when I was first learning the core rules of D&D 2-3 years ago. It’s funny and breaks down the basics of the sheet.
    1. Scores
    2. Race + class + Background
    3. Spells and actions
    4. Fill in rest from the source books
    5. backstory
It’s definitely daunting without the basics known but jocat did well explaining them.

YES! I think this is my favorite of JoCats Crap Guide to D&D. Although the Barbarian video gave me my favorite description of something that has been smashed. Pavement Lotion. I use that term regularly.

It’s a three hour session to complete four or five sheets. And backgrounds, and introduce the campaign.

If you like JoCat you might also enjoy Runesmith's Basically D&D series. It's also really fun to watch and does a great job at explaining monsters, races, and planes.

OPTIONS, people, enough with trashing a product to make it 'easier to use'. we got those yellow and black dummies books. goes in a bit more detail than jocat. no need to alter the base arrangement. if need be, make a 'junior' version. I believe that has been done already. Keep the Detail!

In the past youd actually ad your ability score to the rolls instead of a modifier with a standard dc usually being 21
