How right you are, we loved that little old train, and when a daring driver used his little lovomotive to race the cars, and the car drivers used to speed up, to try to beat us, we used to have great craic, yelling. and egging our driver on, and booing if the cars beat us. Jack Dowling.🤗🤗🤗🤗
And it was built in 7 months by Dargen. How many years did it take to re open not build from scratch the Harcourt Street line. Well it was talked about in the 1980's, consideration given in 1996 and started by clearing the old route in 2000 and opened in 2004 and runs an average lower speed okay so it stops a fair few times. But after 170 years you'd think we could do things quicker. Nope not a chance. Nice video thanks.
Closed railway lines throughout Ireland should be reopened to stop pollution, traffic jams, car accidents and road deaths we should have 24 hour trains in summertime and we need St. Stephen's Day trains of course most countries do have them. Only in Winter time no night time trains and no trains only on Christmas Day.
Nice documentary film though the Country music soundtrack is rather cheesy. Interesting to see photos of the various trains which operated on this line. The trackwork is also interesting.
A documentary film is planned in the future. Produced and possibly directed by myself. This was a very unique railway. The only wide guage railway not connected to the national network. Waterford also had three railway stations at one period . Any comments welcome.
Fantastic footage: What madness took place in the 60s lifting all the railway lines that covered the whole country..
My great grandad John Doyle was last man to drive the last train to tramore 1960
Fascinating and charming. Thank you for sharing this!
Should have been kept so nostalgic
