    I"ve been to Apple Jax Toys several times - it is a great toy store to go to. I cannot recommend it enough to go viist and patronize these folks. When the two owners aren't there - there's VERY nice and friendly staff. Good folks. Basically, they took over "the TORCH" after "Big Fun" closed ("Big Fun" was a great classic old toy store in Cleveland for many, many years - owned by Steve Presser)....

    As a kid, getting a G.I. Joe action figure was the coolest thing in the world.
    Now, looking back as an adult, it's "still" the coolest thing in the world.

    The most expensive figure in my ARAH collection is 1985 Snake Eyes, complete, C9 condition, with file card. I believe I paid $89 in 2016.
    Runners up were '83 Scarlett (~$65) and Firefly (~$45).
    My whole collection was bought in 2016/2017, just before the prices started to increase in recent years.
    Complete C8.5+ figures at the time went for $8-15, and up to $25 for popular characters or army-builders (like Vipers or BATs). Now the prices have risen across the board by about $10, which adds up when you buy dozens of them!
    There's still a few vehicles I'd like to get, but now I have a mortgage to pay, so my collection is probably as big as it's gonna get.

    Most people don't really want to part with items that means alot to them. The show should be about die hard loyal fans that have a amazing collection display and that's it. Screw the trading.

    • @morrisseygere
      @morrisseygere  2 года назад +2

      I like the trading bit honestly, but I could see how people wouldn't like it. If it got to a point where nobody traded, then yeah I'd agree.

    recently I found an original 12" GI Joe box at a yard sale, I opened it up and it had an action jackson inside. That week I sold the empty joe box on ebay for $100. I paid a buck for it.

    Wow. I can’t believe she brought one figure to trade for a flag. Even it was the 82 version of snake-eyes. it’s still not worth it. Next time bring every figure from 82-86 carded and then they might trade there flag. Lol

    I really wish people would stop listening to these so called "experts" on shows like this. All it does is over inflate the market. I've been collecting Joes for over 30 years and no way would I ever give up a flag for that snake eyes. For one I know of two stores where I'm from that have flags new in box and they're only charging 3500$-4000$ for them, not 10k. The snake eyes she brought would realistically go for 4-5 hundred bucks and that's only if its graded near mint to mint condition. He has A very impressive collection for sure but I would say its worth more around 1-1.5 million not 3-4 million. They make the prices higher for the entertainment but its not realistic.

    The appraiser talks down to him like he's a clueless moron who just got into the hobby. BTW- who is she? I've never heard of her or seen her at conventions.

      I thought she did a good job. She was actually pretty humble (at 3:35 when Lisa asks how is she going to be able to appraise / evaluate such a large collection, she responds with "I have no idea" and then goes on to say that she's actually intimidated by the size of the collection. I've been collecting G.I Joes since the mid-80's and I would be intimidated as well if I had to appraise the worth of a collection that huge in such a short amount of time. LMAO. I would need several DAYS, not a couple of hours. She even admits that if anyone is going to know G.I Joe better than her, it's going to be him (the collector). Anyway, she knows what she is talking about. Example: When she said that the Joe figures originally went for $2.99 - $3.99, that's extremely accurate as the $2.99 price is the price my parents paid for each Joe figure during the 80's and early 90's. I still have the K-mart $2.99 price sticker on many of the packages that I still have (I kept them for the file card on the back and never bothered to cut the file card out since I always liked the art on the front). I do remember the Joes getting a little more expensive at the end of their run during 1993 and 1994 with the Star Brigade stuff and some of the more special figures like the horrible aliens and so that's probably when they rose to $3.99 at some stores (granted, I do remember the 1990 G.I Joe Sonic Fighters, the Joes and Cobras that came with the sound effect battery back packs being more expensive than the normal figures at that time).
