I never thought that their attraction was weird at all. Think about it this way: An older girl meets a little boy and they become best friends. The boy has a little kid crush on the girl but she just sees him as a friend. She grows close to him and he becomes an important part in her life. Years later, the boy has grown into a young man and is reunited with the girl who is now a young woman. They rekindle their friendship, and in their friendship, they realize that they have grown up and discovered intimate feelings for each other. It's like that typical love story where the best friends fall in love with each other but with a twist. I, for one, think that it's perfectly fine. For the record, I would feel the same way if Padme was younger than Anakin as well. Of course there is a choice, you won't just randomly fall in love with some random person you just met that very moment. Something grows, and you open up to it, that's a choice. Seriously, I love this relationship and never had any problem with it. It didn’t even occur to me to think of the age difference until I saw it brought up by the community. I guess I feel like as long as they genuinely love each other, the age really doesn’t matter all that much. Padme opened herself up to anakin. Then tried to block it after it was to late, she already fell for anakin.
Of course in their circumstance it would be hard not to fall in love. You get a smokin young woman and an attractive young man, both are nice neither is annoying. Having to spend a period of time alone together at a beautiful romantic area. The chances of them not falling in love, is insanely slim.

Why is this so strange to people? She likes him when they are both children on tatooine and then doesn't see him again until they are both young adults. Its not like she was into him while she was 20 and he was 15... They had no contact between episode 1 and 2.

She hadn’t seen him in years and when he came back she was stand off-ish and treated him like a younger man (I think in some ways like a child) probably because she was in denial that she liked him but seeing him as her Jedi protector and how he loved her, it’s not too crazy for her to fall in live with him. They were 5 years apart and consensual adults (even though he can’t be in the relationship ship and a Jedi) but it’s not like there was anything wrong happening.
Seriously. How many teen books/movies have an expectation that teens are sexually active in high school (underage!), but a NINETEEN YEAR OLD is somehow scandalous.
