Amazing song, one of my favorite guitar riff ever, Dave thanks for sharing how to play it with us. I love your music, you're a great fantastic guitar player.
I remember exactly where I was when I first heard “Set Me Free.” It was played on 92.3 KROC (which is now a hip hop station). After the song the DJ had explained who was on the track. I was HOPING a full album was to follow. I grew up on Guns N Roses thanks to my older sister and eventually found STP on my own. Once it was announced I couldn’t wait for this album to drop. I was working the Best Sellers department at Stop & Shop at the time. My job was to handle all the new releases when CD’s and DVD’s existed. This album was officially released on Tuesday (I think), but we definitely got it shipped in the store the Friday prior. I didn’t listen to it ahead of time, but as soon as it came in I opened the plastic. I started reading the lyrics and looking at the album artwork. The first thing I did that Tuesday 20 years ago was buy the album - even before I clocked in for my shift. I was and still am impressed by this album. I remember when Velvet Revolver first came to Jones Beach. I literally had to drag my girlfriend at the time to the show, but after the concert, even she began to get into everything Scott Weiland, STP, GNR, etc… So many great tunes you guys put out. Thank you for these videos. May the legacy of Velvet Revolver live on… -Carl

Thanks Dave. I saw you guys in concert in Auckland/New Zealand in 2005. Amazing concert that doesn’t feel like it was almost 20yrs ago.
