Fiesta Texas… It’s the best theme of any Six Flags park, has multiple shows, and it might not have the most coasters it has Quality coasters. And there’s no dead space there are flat rides around every corner.
Underrated park. So many great choices and awesome variety. Riddler's great. Batman is awesome. Viper and Goliath are over hated. West Coast Racer is fun. Full Throttle is fun. Tatsu is amazing. If you want less intense, hop on Ninja, Revolution, or Gold Rusher. Twisted Colossus is super fun. Wooden roller coaster is underrated. X2 is one of a kind in North America. Superman and Lex Luther are enjoyable. Even better when we had four water rides. We're spoiled at SFMM. All you need to do is keep your head back and you will experience ZERO pain on the rides.😊 Too much hate throughout this video.
This was made for April Fool's Day, so there's less sugarcoating than others might give. Everyone has there own experiences and I don't think it's invalid to love this park. I don't like you saying you will get no pain on the rides because that varies from person to person, keeping your head back doesn't always mitigate pain. I'm sorry that this video was pretty negative, but that was intentional and I feel I was still fair by discussing the best aspects. With all that said, I appreciate your point of view, and I think you'll find lots of other more positive content on the channel.
I went for the first time on President's Day and will definitely look to come back again but my #1 reason I think it's overrated is the ride ops were absolutely abysmal that day. I might have gotten super unlucky but we showed up barely after opening time and only got a total of 7 roller coaster rides the entire day which was ridiculously frustrating. I should have bought a flash pass, I get that I messed up in that regard but every single ride had slow rotations. I think their coaster lineup is still super solid and I think Twisted Colossus might be my favorite roller coaster of all time (took over the top spot on Maverick, still need to ride SteVe though). My biggest disagreement with your video is Full Throttle. I put it at #2 in the entire park but I did not get to ride X2 or West Coast Racers. Yes, I even put it above Tatsu and Wonder Woman Flight of Courage. Maybe because I got a night ride and maybe because it was the back row, but that coaster is phenomenal even if it's so short. The hangtime on the loop, the g-forces you feel in the back row at the end of the backward launch, and even the final drop with nasty trim brakes were still unbelievable and I felt like I got most of the forces on my body before the trims kicked in anyway. I am officially a fanboy and will always defend that coaster. Great video!
Went to SFMM around a week ago, and I gotta say I had a really good experience there, which could be due to the SF/CF merger. I went two days (On a Friday and Saturday) and most of the lines were walk ons, each coaster I went on ran 2 trains, and mostly every big thrill attraction was open (With the exception of Superman EFK). Here's my ranking of the 15 coasters I rode: 15. Gold Rusher 14. Revolution 13. Ninja 12. Goliath 11. Scream 10. Batman The Ride 9. Viper 8. Riddler's Revenge 7. West Coast Racers 6. Apocalypse 5. Full Throttle 4. Wonder Woman 3. Tatsu 2. Twisted Colosuss 1. X2 I really hope they add a B&M giga here, as this could make for a top tier top 3 in any park in the world, which is now more possible due to the aforementioned merger.
Eh I grew up in Los Angeles so the park is almost homely in a way I don't feel at other parks. It feels more comfortable to be at and I feel less out of place. But I totally get why people may or may not like the place. I like it for how homely, how comfortable, and how awesome it feels. I enjoy all of the rollercoasters, Viper is my favorite Arrow Looper, X2 is fun and crazy but not as crazy as people might chock it to be. Tatsu is my favorite flyer, Twisted Colossus is my favorite RMC iron horse, Riddler is my favorite standup, Apocalypse is up there for me compared to other GCI's. West Coast Racers does have a horrible fucking comfort collar but other than that it's a dope dueling launch coaster. I really do like Full Throttle, but I totally get its length is a major con for people. Goliath is not my favorite hyper but I do enjoy its focus on laterals since I just love the feeling of being blasted into my seat rather than airtime but I get people really like airtime. Gold Rusher to me isn't a terrible Arrow Mine Train. I really like Ninja as an Arrow Suspended. Batman is a fun invert, Superman is pretty fun but definitely not worth a wait, Revolution is fun but a little forceless, and Wonder Woman was so fucking amazing I can't even describe how well rounded the experience was. And I know it's controversial but I appreciate Magic Mountain having so many kid's and family coasters. In a park with tons of super intense rides, it's great to have a wide selection for the younger ones especially if you come as a family. It just makes the place feel more whole. Magic Mountain desperately needs water rides though to fill in the gaps that were lost with Log Jammer and Tidal Wave.
I do enjoy the park, and I’m glad you love it, it’s just definitely the case that a lot of people such as yourself enjoy it more than I do. Keep loving the park.
As someone trying to go for the first time soon, this is a very interesting video. I've seen a fair amount of complaints on social media about this park recently, mainly about the way it's run. It does have me lowering my expectations. Worried about ride closures and slow ops. Hopefully I'll go and it'll be a blast though.
Back in January it was REALLY bad with the constant coaster closures - I waited until March, and it was better. Fast forward to spring break, almost everything was open in terms of roller coasters.
I'm sorry but Six Flags Magic Mountain has the best coaster collection in the Six Flags chain and it isn't really close unless we can give Great America a true #1 coaster. The problem with the park since 2020 has been the operations which has MAJOR issues. A lot of ride closures and a lot of downtime for coasters. Frankly that part is really bad at this park. REALLY BAD. But if you look at the quality of the coasters compared to say Kings Island it isn't close. SFMM has 2 Top 20 coasters in the US in X2 & Twisted Colossus. The best coaster at KI is Mystic Timbers which I would consider a Top 35-40 coaster in the US. Then Wonder Woman and Tatsu are in the Top 50 and I will give you that Orion and Diamondback are top 50 coasters. But then the next best coaster at KI is Banshee which is maybe Top 100 in the US. Meanwhile I easily have Full Throttle, Apocalypse in the Top 100 and I would have West Coaster Racers in it although I agree the ride is overrated. Batman is also boarder line top 100. The Beast at KI is extremely overrated, and you have bad coasters in Invertigo and Flight of Fear. The only really bad ride of the major coasters at SFMM is Scream, although you are correct I wouldn't wait very long for Goliath, and going forwards on Superman isn't good. I also don't like Riddler's as much as some people but if it were a sit-down like Kumba it would shoot up my rankings. I do enjoy Viper. It took some getting used too. If you want to take into account how the park is run then I can entertain that Fiesta Texas could challenge Magic Mountain as the best Six Flags park. Fiesta Texas management is awesome and their coaster collection is very good. Great America is probably 3rd but it lacks a true #1 coaster. If Great America had the 2 RMC's from Fiesta then I would entertain that as the #1 Six Flags park without question. Great Adventure also has some operational challenges and their coaster collection as a whole is below that of Magic Mountain despite EL Toro being better than anything at MM. Basically if you took Six Flags Fiesta Texas management and their 2 RMC's and paired them with the coaster collection at Great America that would be a slam dunk Top 5 park in the US And much better than Magic Mountain. AS far as some of the other things you brought up, frankly more issues exist at Great Adventure than Magic Mountain. Great Adventure flat out has signs posted about it. Great Adventure is probably far more shady and not trees. Unless you are talking about a certain type of plant. Magic Mountain is a top 10 park. It is behind Cedar Point, Dollywood, Silver Dollar City, Busch Gardens Tampa, Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Again the biggest problem with the park is operations which you really didn't address as I would say they are sub par in that area.
This park was actually the most shocking for me because I was so pumped…but while it was a great park I think I was expecting something more. It’s still not nearly as good as Cedar Point or Kings Island to me. As far as Six Flags I’m gonna go with Great Adventure as my favorite I have visited.
Magic Mountain use to be my home park for many years and I am one who loves Viper. However I’m very biased and sentimental about it because it was my first coaster for me to conquer my fear of heights as a teenager. I love Magic Mountain but I’m not a fanboy and the flaws you have pointed out are valid. I’m not offended at all. Thanks for the videos you put out. 👍🏼

When I went to SFMM, it was my first six flags park that I had been to in almost a decade, and the entire park felt like it was stuck in the 90s, but not in a good way. An example of this is Twisted Colossus, as you can see the original parking lot paint from 1978 when looking down and to the right from the lifthill. The coasters lineup is amazing tho, even with tatsu being closed, and WWFOC not being built yet when I went.
Yes! I'm a SoCal local and while SFMM is a very good park I've always stood by it being overrated. People put it at the same level as CP but it's definitely one or two big steps down from that. X2 is overrated, a lot of the supporters are very filler-y, not a great atmosphere, but most importantly for me, the park is run terribly. The 2022 season especially was a joke with abundant closures, lots of one train ops, and slow dispatches. Obviously still a fun day out but I prefer Knott's as a home park.
I've ridden Vampire at Chessington, which is another Arrow suspended coaster, and it's my No. 10 coaster out of the 26 I've ridden. That being said, I don't think I would prefer The Bat over Orion, Diamondback, or Banshee.
I would not be disappointed if Viper was taken out. There's too much head banging during the ride to really enjoy it. On X2 my only favorite part is the first drop. The rest of it is ok. And yes the restraints on West Coast Racer is uncomfortable and a bit of a distraction because I'm constantly adjusting my head so it doesn't rub against the restraints.
If this was titled "Why Six Flags Great America is Overrated" I would KNOW this was an April Fool's Joke vid since IIRC Great America is your fave Six Flags park.
I really love Magic mountain but with that being said Eric I respect your opinion everyone has the right to think differently to me cedar point is number 1 then number 2 is magic mountain but keep up the great work 👍
I’m always baffled when you talk about west coast racers collars. Maybe it’s a height issue? I’m 5’11 and I don’t even notice them. Other than that these are pretty fair appraisals. I do love this park.
@@ThemeParkAvenue No you're right - the comfort collars are terrible. They hit my neck the second I get some really good ejector, and just feel unnecessary.
I feel like I need to touch on something about the unfriendly atmosphere - this is a problem with Los Angeles in general I think. LA is known for being kind of stuck up/egotistical, and I find this a problem with the people working at the 3 closest parks - they just kind of have some unfriendly vibe to it. Disneyland I think is the best, but even then it's hit or miss if you have great cast members or not. Magic Mountain is really just part of the problem.
Which Six Flags? Magic Mountain? Great America? Great Adventure? Over Texas? Fiesta Texas? Over Georgia? New England? Discovery Kingdom? Mexico? Darien Lake? Frontier City? America? Great Escape? LaRonde? St. Louis?
I actually prefer this park over Cedar Point, and the only parks in California that I prefer over this one are the two Disneyland parks. I should point out that I haven't been there in almost ten yers, so I think it's almost time for another visit.
i love magic mountain so much, but as someone who’s home park is knotts, i’m spoiled with a park with THEMING. magic mountain has NOTHING (besides dc- which every six flags has, and maybe scream punk). it’s atmosphere is just “BIG SCARY RIDES”. and i love it.
@@ThemeParkAvenue Oh interesting. Then again when you went I assume you didn't get the full package - this includes the music, fog, fire, which is terribly maintained by the park
I get the ride operations are an issue but what I would say when people go to Six Flags Magic Mountain you can only go on whatever roller coasters and other rides are open because it is what it is. When I go on my first visit I wanna see how many rides I can go on as much as possible.
@@ThemeParkAvenuemy personal top 10 is 1 WWFC 2 Twisted (just recently switched it from 1) 3 X2 4 Full throttle 5 Goliath 6 Apocolypse 7 Tatsu 8 west coast racers 9 Riddlers 10 Batman
I know it's April 1st and that the video might be a joke. I haven't gone to the park, so if anyone is offended, remember that I'm not fully serious because I haven't actually gone. I still think the park is overrated, because while the lineup is pretty good, you do have some coasters that don't fill any gaps. You have Scream a very underrated floor less, and then a stand up? Of course, it's a pretty good stand up, arguably the best one, but it doesn't fill any gap. Then you have West coast races, a Premier launch coaster, and Full throttle? Doesn't make sense having two coasters that are the same model from the same manufacturer. Then you have more than one zamperla kiddie coaster. The park needs to have more variety, because I think the lineup is very repetitive. Obviously it still has a better lineup than New England and Canada's wonderland. I've seen a lot of people criticise Carowinds for having a lineup with mediocre coasters, but in some way, I just feel like it is better than magic mountain's.
@@brucegibson1813 Yes they have variety, but it's a repetitive lineup. For example, you have 2 coasters that are very similar, West coast racers and Full throttle.
And they have Scream and Viper, which are both traditional sit-down looping coasters. Seriously, they should replace Viper with a Mack Hyper, or a Vekoma Bermuda Blitz.
Six Flags is always vying for breaking records and attempting to be the best...most coasters, tallest coaster...etc... But once they hit that mark they felt there was no need to maintain any standards because the reputation would sustain them. This is obviously a misconception on their part proven by the decline of their brand.
This totally isn't an April fools joke. The things he says Generally line up with things he's said in other videos and nothing he says contradicts anything he's said in other videos
I do agree it's a bit overrated, though still very good. But it's by far the best park for coasters anywhere in the Western US, it kinda feels like the only thing we got over here haha. But as far as Six Flags goes, I think I prefer Great Adventure (haven't been to Fiesta or Great America yet). Also prefer parks like Kings Island and Cedar Point, probably Hershey and BGT. MM is in the same tier as something like Carowinds or Busch Gardens Williamsburg for me, still great but not absolute top tier. For what it's worth, I think Knott's is even more overrated, and I definitely prefer SFMM over Knott's. I enjoy Knott's for what it is, but it's so small I'm done after 2-3 hours lol.
Happy April Fool’s Day! Check out this funny video: ruclips.net/video/NeAuL5ref_E/видео.html

Totally fair.
Hey just out of curiousity what row/seat were you in on X2?
I got the back row inside seat, which I hear is the best one
@@ThemeParkAvenue Oh interesting. Then again when you went I assume you didn't get the full package - this includes the music, fog, fire, which is terribly maintained by the park
@@ThemeParkAvenuego to the front.
@@hellacia8151 11 months late but you’re right, I never got the fire.
@@ThemeParkAvenue I got fire last time, but no music
I get the ride operations are an issue but what I would say when people go to Six Flags Magic Mountain you can only go on whatever roller coasters and other rides are open because it is what it is. When I go on my first visit I wanna see how many rides I can go on as much as possible.
Batman and apocalypse over full throttle is wild.
They’re all pretty close.
@@ThemeParkAvenuealso tatsu at 2 is crazy
@@ThemeParkAvenuemy personal top 10 is
1 WWFC
2 Twisted (just recently switched it from 1)
3 X2
4 Full throttle
5 Goliath
6 Apocolypse
7 Tatsu
8 west coast racers
9 Riddlers
10 Batman
Very good points
They have 20 coasters . . . Complaining about variety is pretty ridiculous
@@me-myself-i787 they should do that for scream instead, the already have two b and m loopers
Six Flags is always vying for breaking records and attempting to be the best...most coasters, tallest coaster...etc... But once they hit that mark they felt there was no need to maintain any standards because the reputation would sustain them. This is obviously a misconception on their part proven by the decline of their brand.
Good point.
X2 is hype if you go in with no expectations. I was crying from laughter after that ride.
That’s fair
This totally isn't an April fools joke. The things he says Generally line up with things he's said in other videos and nothing he says contradicts anything he's said in other videos
I’m impressed that you know that, and you are correct. I did make a more jokey video for the holiday though.
I know this is probably a joke but I do think a decent amount of people think it is overrated
True
I love SFMM, the rides are fab.
They are very good.
This is totally fair, and I should go back to Knott's before I talk about it again.
What’s todays date again…
I don’t know lemme check…
I expected an April fools video
There is another one
is it just me or does TPA footage always have a "depressing" "saddening" vibe?
Always
April Fool’s!
Jesus Christ is he joking becuz it’s April fools? Cuz u ain’t gon catch X2 finale lackin
Yup.
Yup
Six Flags Magic Mountain
This is a joke but it actually is overrated though…. A lot of coasters but it’s dirty.
Oh, this is is no joke. I was being genuine.
Bro is always hating on magic mountain
Yeah but this was an April Fool’s video so maybe it’s all a joke. Who knows?
