Thanks for watching it my friend! And hell yeah, seems like we share the same idea there. I also play drums so I’ve got tonnes of ideas coming from behind the kid luckily. What else would you want me to cover in a next video?
Ehh thank you so much! I figured a lot of guitar players have this same issue when writing. I’m very lucky to also play drums and have years behind the kit so I’m always glad to share the information that helps me in my journey as well. Thanks for watching! If you have any questions lmk!
The verse beat is my favorite! I imagine after the second part, a synthetized siren sound for buildup and then a solo bass drum kicks in, and then disco kind a drum beats with the main guitar riff. I don't know if this will make any sense but this is how I imagine it in my head :)
It all makes sense my friend haha. You can make anything work, and the stranger and more unique, the better. Verse beat is also my favourite. Thanks for watching !
this is exactly what i needed to see, thanks for uploading. i always find myself falling back into the same basic drum beats because i just don't know what drums are supposed to be doing
@@BrendonKPadjasek9 times out of 10 i go straight for the 'syncopated groove' that you showed, i really struggle to include cymbals and toms because i feel like it just shows that i don't know what i'm doing
I had a feeling that was the move. The more practice and time you put into focusing on drums as a guitar player, you’ll see the similarities. If you’re riffing on guitar, a lot of the times the Tom and their different pitches will make the guitar notes pop out more and have a symmetry to one another. I’d suggest starting with with simple groove where the kick and accent cymbals are doing most of the work, and then fill it in from there. It’s easier to come up with better drum parts that way than removing 58 kicks imo
This is a very helpful video. I would choose the syncopated kick style just to give my guitars that girth feel. Same with the 2-step, can never go wrong with those lol. This video gives me more of an open mind to what style drum pattern to go with rather trying to use the same style over and over. Appreciate the time you took to put this together. Keep up the good work!🤘🔥🔥
I’m so glad that it helped, that was the whole point for the video. Just to show how many options you have, and by putting something on the hi hat, rims or Toms you can get a completely different feel than crashes and whatnot. Plus choosing where the snare is as well. And not making it on the constant same beat the entire riff
that`s very helpful dude. Idk if that`s about drums or composing in general but I always struggle to make transitions between different parts in a song. Like I know there must be this riff and then this but eventually they sound like a mash-up
Hey I m glad it helped! I guess everything contributes to composing so a bit of both. I’m a firm believer that any 2 parts can go together with the right drum fill, or silence for a quick second and then right into the next thing. Are you comfortable programming intricate drum fills or is that a little tricky ?
@insertanynameyouwant5311 fair enough. Maybe I’ll do a drum transition / fill video because a lot of people have been saying similar things. It’s cool to have presets and libraries but it’s also cool to be able to program what’s in your head quickly
Lmao least favourite is also definitely the drake one as well lol. Yeah the techy and rim are my go to’s when I have the time to program something. Thanks for checking it out!
Gotta lay my chips on Syncopated, Accent, and Verse Beat. Oh and btw, you definitely didn't have enough mana to play Shred Wizard Master, but I'll let it slide. 🤘🦖
Thanks for watching Groot! Those 3 would likely be the ones I’d use as well! Which of the 2 verse beats did you like more? The hi hat or rim one? As for the mana… I know haha. If I didn’t play my Chug Nasty Enchantment I would have enough. Next turn!
@@BrendonKPadjasek Loved the artstyle of MTG as a kid and really got into it in university unfortunately it's been a while since I had the chance to play😅 PS: Just saw that you got a feature on the new Northlane EP stocked to hear that!
@skypiercer13 yeah the art is phenomenal. I get worked up if I lose too many games in a row tbh lmao so my girlfriend and I has to stop playing lmao Hell yeah! Yeah I went to hang out with them while they were recording and they had me do a part. The whole EP is amazing
Gotta disagree on the tech drums making it more interesting. The build ups or two step part is just as cool and interesting. And sometimes a riff just calls for a simple beat imo
Let me know your 3 favourite and 3 least favourite drum parts here!
More of this bro. Love all the options. As a guitar player, drums are my fav instrument cuz they absolutely change the feel.

Syncopated groove is my favorite
Definitely a classic. Of all the groove beats it’s up there as a most often useable

No problem at all. So glad it helped and thanks for watching. What are your normal beats that you find yourself going towards?

Definitely agree. Some Kublai Kahn breakdowns have the most simple drums and they go HARRD
