We are going to Kuching near the end of October and are so excited. Laksa Sarawak is so delicious! Gary ate Laksa for breakfast every day when we stayed in Labuan at the Palm Beach Resort Hotel. After our planned stay in Kuching we are going back to Labuan for relaxation and later to Kota Kinabalu to do some wilderness camping. You are going to love Borneo! Kuching is one of my favourite city! If you like nature and wildlife, you may consider to go to these places. I think they don't get enough coverage in RUclips. Very accessible by public bus from Kuching city center. You might need to do some research because the timing to go there is important. 1. Bako National Park - stay there one night. Book accommodation from Sarawak Forestry website before you go. Take Bus Asia (only RM1 one way) to the jetty. Go early morning so that you can share the boat cost with other tourists. Hi! guys, welcome to Kuching/Sarawak, so sorry about your first day experience in Kuching, treat it's just a coincidence for the boatman and both of you not a good day, you have a long way to explore because there's so many interesting places, and delicious foods Spot in Kuching, and of course kolo mee and Laksa Sarawak is one of the regular. Nice to know you guys and I hope you have an interesting holiday in Sarawak ❤❤
You can also try the Sarawak River Cruise which is using a bigger boat and they provide some refreshments. Also they will explain the history of area you will be passing by on the cruise. And it's one of the best way to enjoy Kuching sunset and night lights along the Kuching Waterfront as the boat will sail in the evening from 5.30pm to 7pm if im not mistaken.
Good afternoon .. welcome to Kuching. The kolo mee you are having is the Malay version with beef. There is a Chinese version which you can find in most coffee shops. Food in Kuching is generally less spicy. We prefer soups and mild flavoured food. Enjoy the rest of your holidays here. 🧡
Such a bit of scary experience for both of you, but it's something unforgetful of Sarawak. Hope there is more wonderful experiences during your visit here.
Hi, Sarawakian here, its sad to know that on your first day in Kuching. I'm gonna subscribe your channel and watch all of your travel experiences in Borneo. Hope you find 'joy' & 'happy experiences' in your holiday trip in Sarawak. Oh ya, the dark soy sauce is mixture with vinegar, best when dipping on steamed meat.
The river is infested with crocs. Whenever a boat is having engine problem, other nearby boat would normally give a helping hand, worry not guys if u r in kuching😅. Even if ur car is broken down mid way, a friendly sarawakian would surely help u out😊

I like how you guys stay positive in the boat while he fixes the damaged propeller. Hopes the Captain able to replaces it … I’m visiting Kuching soon and prolly go tour in his boat too just to support him =)
As a Kuching born I am a bit disappointed that safety awareness seems to be lacking in the boat operator. I presume its endorsed by local tourism authorities but I can see that life vests are there but not enforced. The Sarawak river is a big river and the current can be sometimes strong even though its relatively very calm. Also its infested by crocodiles, there have been cases in Kuching. So it was alarming when Roslin went into the water. Regardless hope there will be improvements and that experience did not spoil your travels.
I am British but have lived in Sarawak for six years, in December I was on one of those boats, with my family , including a pram , life jackets were provided, to be honest I am sure that a lot of foreigners do not want to wear their life jackets , they are provided, we wore them , but I can imagine the boat operators having people who refuse, safety is your responsibility too . Our boat also broke down but was fixed easily, but it’s all part of the fun
Welcome to Kuching, Sarawak! Enjoy your stay in Kuching & Borneo, my hometown, really missed it, since I'm staying in Miri, missed all the good foods there, especially mee kolok & laksa!
The late Anthony Bourdain has travelled to Nanga Skrang n spent his journey with the IBAN tribes years back. Also other bloggers Jet Leg Warriors, Ken Abroad, Beers for Breakfast and also the couples from Romania visited the long houses in Sarawak...
Rivers in Sarawak - don't jump in, make sure you ask your tour guides whether it's safe to jump in. Crocodile attacks have been happening since the beginning of time. One of the biggest croc ever killed because many lives were lost is called Bujang Senang, you can Google it.
Such a supportive & understanding couple. They were struggling to fix everything. But i had issue with 1 thing, they were suppose to replace a new cruise for u guys but they didnt.
Actually the street is ‘The India Street’thats why there are a lots of spices there. The China Street is somewhere nearby with temples and more local cuisine include the classic version of Sarawak Kolo mee..

I went there from south America on April. It's a very nice place. And in my first private river tour I saw a huge cocodrile 🐊 I was freaking out. I loved the experience. I want to come back to Kuching.
such incidents are part of the adventure, things happen. but im glad you all okay. cant wait your sabah adventure. What do you think about renting a car in Sabah later? road trip from KK >> kundasang >> ranau >> kk... and other places such as Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in sandakan etc.
The kind of tourism here is more to the exploring type because Borneo island is not known by many people. They don't know there is a East Malaysia and a West Malaysia. Then they don't know that one Borneo island is divided into 3 different countries. Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei. Whilst you are here, you can take advantage of going to all 3 countries. The heart of Sarawak is at Kapit which is quite close to the middle of the Borneo island. More than 5 years back, the river transport was very popular. Nowadays, there is the Pan Borneo highway and so the bus becomes more popular. Beside air travel. Hope you will be more enlightened by your experiences here.
OMG 🤦♂️Glad you are safe after the boat disaster 😅 BTW that is NOT the original Sarawak Kolo Mee ; you need to try the Chinese original version. Night sea food places are worth a visit ; get some locals to advise you , as you are clearly lost in finding your way to a proper local authentic cuisine 🤦♂️😅 Good Luck 🍀
Luke and Naomi🎉❤ My ego drop in the river when you gave Rosli RM20/-tips. It is beacuse I definitely ask for refund for the next trip. Thank you so much for being a kind person. Lesson learned and a good message to everyone.😊 For everyone to keep the water out from gabbage. Best wishes from Marudi Sarawak. City of once famous during Charles Brooke Era.
Perhaps your video has had some results? We have just got back from Kuching and I noticed from our hotel room at least three mornings there were 3 boats in the river picking rubbish and branches out of the river. They were also clearing water hyacinths out of the river as those plants can clog a river pretty quickly if not kept in check. We did take this boat for a river trip and pleased to say it was delightful. A nice sunny day and the only thing that got stuck on the boat was me! One of the clips on my life vest got stuck in the seat. The boatman had a fit of giggles as he managed to get the vest free from the seat.
Travelling is a very luck related activity. You win some, and you lose some when things don't go as planned. All we can only hope for is that everything will be as we planned or as close as possible, and call that a success at the end of the trip!😅
While you two lovebirds are in sarawak, you should head to the city of miri 😅 it's 12-14 hour drive from kuching to the other end of sarawak! 😂 Seriously though, they have the annual miri international jazz festival at the marina there, but idk when exactly it is 😂 Fret not hahah, for miri too has other attractions, mostly outdoorsy: _Niah cave_ - very popular including among foreign nature loving tourists _Mulu cave_ - ditto Niah cave, but people say it's even more beautiful _Loagan bunut_ - much less popular among both local and foreign tourists, it's actually a designated national park, inhabited by one small local sarawak ethnic community, and the attraction here is taking a boat (oh, not again! 😂hahah) to cruise around the lake in the middle, which serves the locals with food ie. fish that are caught with scoops and kept in cages, all mounted on rafts that may also be the houses for some of the families, and a word of reminder: no outsiders can catch a fish in here, not without an expressed permission by the community, so no fishing guys, but you can ask (and pay) a local to show you how they do their unique way of catching a fish, even grilling it and having a fish lunch right there on his raft. But if you go there during dry season including around june/july, the big lake that is the attraction in the park, becomes dry 😔 - but worry not, it instantly transforms into another attraction instead, for this is when you can witness a gathering of various birds, mousedeers, squirrels, gibbons etc, all having a _makan makan kenduri_ (mukbang fiesta) not entirely dissimilar to our own hari raya open house 😂 at the dried up lake! 😬
I've been in Kuching before .. very interesting place. Oh ya sir u need to mix up everything your kolok Mee using spoon before you eat it.. normally they put all the sauce below the noodles so stirring it together with all the things in your plate make it more tasty 😁
Sorry about your boat experience. Just a suggestion in the case you come back again to Kuching, you should try the original Kolok Mee made by Chinese. It's made with lard and has marinated pork slices on it. It's scrumptious! Love from London
It's rather "fun-tastic"; ; unpredictably,...a sortof Gilligan's adventure!...so how do u both feel? ..the other half of east-m'sians are even more calm, relax, steady,..juz take it as wat it may come...very gypsy ......cool!...😂😅
Welcome for visiting Sarawak. Just for your info and correction on the China Town that you mention with lots of jersey seller sell along the walkway, that place actually called India Street. I also reccomended both of you to visit Cultural Village or Kampung Budaya where you can see difference types of longhouse of the difference races in Sarawak and its tradisonal architecture
Please come to Miri bro...here also got some nice place to visit...sorry for my bad english but i force myself to tell both of u to come visit here.. 🤭😁

wow! what an experience. I respect the boatman's effort
and never take rivers in sarawak lightly. crocodiles are abundant.
🙏❤️
Welcome to Sarawak..Kuching in particular. You both have good hearts. God bless you both.
OMG 🤦♂️Glad you are safe after the boat disaster 😅
BTW that is NOT the original Sarawak Kolo Mee ; you need to try the Chinese original version. Night sea food places are worth a visit ; get some locals to advise you , as you are clearly lost in finding your way to a proper local authentic cuisine 🤦♂️😅
Good Luck 🍀
Thank you so much for your support ❤️ yes we have to search for better local food 😊
Luke and Naomi🎉❤
My ego drop in the river when you gave Rosli RM20/-tips.
It is beacuse I definitely ask for refund for the next trip. Thank you so much for being a kind person. Lesson learned and a good message to everyone.😊
For everyone to keep the water out from gabbage.
Best wishes from Marudi Sarawak. City of once famous during Charles Brooke Era.

I love Kuching Sarawak...lovely people... lovely plce... love your videos too
Missed mee kolok n laksa Sarawak soooo much... You guys should try it..
🙏😊❤️
Very true! ❤️
Welcome to Kuching Sarawak sir...enjoy your day...

While you two lovebirds are in sarawak, you should head to the city of miri 😅 it's 12-14 hour drive from kuching to the other end of sarawak! 😂
Seriously though, they have the annual miri international jazz festival at the marina there, but idk when exactly it is 😂
Fret not hahah, for miri too has other attractions, mostly outdoorsy:
_Niah cave_ - very popular including among foreign nature loving tourists
_Mulu cave_ - ditto Niah cave, but people say it's even more beautiful
_Loagan bunut_ - much less popular among both local and foreign tourists, it's actually a designated national park, inhabited by one small local sarawak ethnic community, and the attraction here is taking a boat (oh, not again! 😬
Thank you so much 😊 ❤️❤️❤️
Welcome to Sarawak my friend, there are many more interesting places in the state of Sarawak... wish you happiness always, thank you😊
❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@TwoMadExplorers tq welcome to #igatmukahchannel

Try out Niah Cave and mulu cave. For more thrilling experience ...welcome to sarawak.
Yes we will 🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
I've been in Kuching before .. very interesting place.
Oh ya sir u need to mix up everything your kolok Mee using spoon before you eat it.. normally they put all the sauce below the noodles so stirring it together with all the things in your plate make it more tasty 😁
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for visiting my Sarawak. Not everybody got experience of that kind of boat cruise. Enjoy your traveling .
Sorry about your boat experience. Just a suggestion in the case you come back again to Kuching, you should try the original Kolok Mee made by Chinese. It's made with lard and has marinated pork slices on it. It's scrumptious! Love from London
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Welcome to my hometown ❤
Try mee jawa pak awang at kai joo lane, next to the central police station. Only available beween 7am till about 10am
Thank you 🙏
It's rather "fun-tastic"; ; unpredictably,...a sortof Gilligan's adventure!...so how do u both feel? ..the other half of east-m'sians are even more calm, relax, steady,..juz take it as wat it may come...very gypsy ......cool!...😂😅
Teh Ais from day 1 😁😁😁

Welcome for visiting Sarawak. Just for your info and correction on the China Town that you mention with lots of jersey seller sell along the walkway, that place actually called India Street. I also reccomended both of you to visit Cultural Village or Kampung Budaya where you can see difference types of longhouse of the difference races in Sarawak and its tradisonal architecture
I suggest you guys go at night so you can see the musical fountain 😀
Don’t forget to visit Sarawak cultural village 🤍
