This is quite the journey...so many layers, but in the end, the piece comes together very well. Your process is fascinating to watch. Thank you for taking the time to share this!

04:45 a.m total insomnia so I get up to watch art videos and find this! Now i want to rummage around the house to see what I can find so I can try this!
Hi Dan, do you gesso your paper before using acrylics/do you find it necessary? Following your inspirational demos, i tried charcoal with acrylic for the first time, really enjoyed it.
I always use the description mono printing to describe some of my work as it helps people to find them, RUclips doesn't always post my new videos to those who are interested.
I just found your posts this weekend and am so inspired to go give it a try. Just a small question - what colours would you recommend I use as a first try or what should I avoid? Thanks so much for making this public.
Thank you. I would begin with all 3 primary colours (red, yellow, blue) with the addition of black and white. With this simple selection you will find that you can create a whole range of colours and shades. Look up a basic colour wheel online because this will really help.
Dan, I love your work! Can you please tell me what material you used to make the "frame" that you tape down before you start painting? I'd like to make something similar so that I don't have to go through so much masking tape.
Just use cardboard with clear or parcel tape on both sides. I have these in various sizes and they are very useful. There is a video to show this process.
Hi Dan, great work, thank you for sharing! In some previous comments, someone had asked you about the materials you use. Would plz share? I would love to know what kind of spray do you use and also, the purpose of that spray is to retard the layer or to seal the layer so it doesn't smudge and mix with the next one? Thank you in advance 🙏
@@DanTirels Looking forward to new paintings. I was wondering whether you got a new dog. Lately, I've had stray cats coming around, so I'm feeding them and they are entertaining to watch. Be safe Dan.

Thank you so much!
Fascinating. Thank you for not talking about your dog or daily trails. It’s so refreshing to just be immersed in the process.
Thanks, my dog gets enough attention on his instagram profile.
Wow, the grand finale , fabulous 😊
Glad you enjoyed it

Good to know that I have provided some inspiration. I try to make each demo uncomplicated and try to make use of recycled materials when possible.
I like your freedom. Thanks. Great ideas

Definitely a figure braving the storm very topical 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Glad you enjoyed it!
Magnifique 😍
Leuchtturm im Sturm. Ich finde es hochformatig auch super.
Thank you for the video; I particularly love the silence while you work! Would you please share what the paper is that you are using?
Wonderful
Dan one request, kindly mention the colors you are using, it'll help to understand, because the depth of colours can achieve by putting right colours.
I will try to update this with more details.
@@DanTirels thanks, looking forward 👍
Excelent, I like verte mucho. Congratulation!
superbe
Hi Dan, do you gesso your paper before using acrylics/do you find it necessary? Following your inspirational demos, i tried charcoal with acrylic for the first time, really enjoyed it.
No I don't feel that there is a need to apply gesso, always use a heavyweight card (200gsm) Hope you find inspiration from the videos.
how did that paper not curl one inch!
Heureuse de vous retrouver 😳
Thanks for the morning pick me up. Great to wake up to besides the results from the election. I'd much rather watch you!
Thanks, I think we all need a break from that (even in the UK)
Unique techniques. Thanks for sharing. One question: don’t you think this is painting and not mono printing?
I always use the description mono printing to describe some of my work as it helps people to find them, RUclips doesn't always post my new videos to those who are interested.

What type of acrylic are you using? Not brand, but weight?
I am using a standard acrylic paint, but I think the heavy body acrylic would work just as well if not better.
Some pieces of muslin would work, to make a cool texture, as well.

I don,t think I used a spray for this, if I use a charcoal stick for drawing over the paint I would always spray with a fixative.
what type of paper are you painting on?
This is a 200gsm smooth card.
I missed you Dan are you doing okay?
Thanks, I'm OK, been busy with my new rescue dog Buzz, but I hope to start work on many more videos this month.

too many notes.....
