This may honestly be the best Matts screams have sounded live since he blew out his voice. Love to hear it, keep rocking lads 🤘🏼
Though, he should have let corey have the part right before he starts the cleans and gave his own voice a couple seconds to recover, but yeah, shit, he's been sounding even better than 08 and 09, except I hope he finds a safe way to work those high screams back in his voice, in every other way, he just randomly got even better than that in the past year!
I agree, considering this is the first time they’ve played this live it sounds so good. I have tickets to see them in November, I am so damn excited!!

@@cullenkenneth5980 and In Waves. In my opinion his peak vocals of his career. His screams were loud and powerful as hell and his cleans sounded much better than today, the gritty and crisp fittet much better on his voice.
Corey growls are in another level.
Agreed.. but he needs to work on timing his screams with Matt’s. Coz the way he screams “in the court of the dragon” is way off making it sound like someone is sing the wrong lyrics.

Ive noticed this about Corey since the Chapman Live Studio performance especially with Down From The Sky where his took time to adjust his timing with Augustos’ tempo. And tbh.. Corey’s not the of being off-tempo and timing. On Matt’s acoustic performances, he always seems to start with a certain tempo then gradually speed up to almost a funky tempo. Still sounds great but very noticeable.
@@GoneDeathMode in a live streaming performance (the deepest cuts if I'm not wrong) Matt said they play without backing track and without a click. I always appreciate when a band is able to have a complete sound without using backing tracks (nothing against the bands that use them, unless they pretend to play their instruments when these too are in the bt), but having an in ear click could improve their performance and their vocal layering in particoular, this is the point in wich (imo) Trivium live performances are more lacking (may be the only weak point)
@@canaledisfogo4698 i 100% agree. Ive always applauded Trivium whenever they performed without those, even more now that they have a drummer who is actually able to maintain his tempo.

@@canaledisfogo4698 Corey's technique though has actually gave the band the option to continue touring when Matt couldn't do much screaming (or none) before 3-4 years. Sometimes Corey is kinda harsh with the vocal fry but imo it fits to the style of the band. Matt is a natural, we can't compare him to Corey, specially when he is healthy.
It's often understated how cutting edge Trivium is and has always been. These guys are always finding new ways to do things. Their musical talent aside, these guys have had their music in The Sims, They had a meme page in the earlier days of Twitter, the band has their livestreams. They do all of this without pandering while putting their own spin on things.
This is the best Trivium has sounding since Alex joined and each album keeps getting better
Honestly I think alex is a good value. He magnify the band. Hope he will stay!! Travis style is in my heart bud alex is just wow. Incredible man with good feeling!
I think Trivium is one of the few bands I’d actually pay top dollar to see live.
Worth every cent, saw them with Fit For An Autopsy and Arch Enemy a few years ago. Hands down the loudest show I have been to in years.

I heard in Iowa people were so thirsty, they turned into dust, and that's what you see kicking up in all those Knotfest videos. The crowd there looked much more lively there.
Trivium don't even charge that much to see them live. I saw them last year for £30 and I'm seeing them next year with Bullet For My Valentine for £60.

@CosmicWith all due respect to Trivium, Lamb of God is one of the greatest metal bands that came out of the US ever. I don’t think Trivium is on that level yet :)
Lamb of God is honestly just as good. But Megadeth has struggled to release good albums in the last 20 years, except maybe Dystopia.

Chill with the crowd comments. Remember, Megadeth is the headliner so most people are there to see them. If Trivium was the headliner, the crowd would move more. If you actually look, a good amount of people were head banging and there was a circle pit. But some people don’t like to mosh though, some people just like to sit there and take it all in. We all enjoy shows our own ways.

This. People were still filling seats up to and during the Lamb of God show. I think there was a big disparity between those there to see Hatebreed, Trivium, and LoG, and those who were there to see Megadeth. Many folks were just there to see Megadeth.

I'm taking my 12 yo son to the Portland show next weekend - it's his first rock concert and he is SO freaking excited to go! I promised him 18 months ago I'd take him to see one of his favorite bands when we were vaccinated & things opened up. (And now we have Delta, ugh). Last week we were in Boston visiting family & he discovered my old spiked & studded motorcycle jacket from around 1987, when I was a high school kid into punk & thrash. He feels very "heavy metal" in it...and will probably insist on wearing it to the show even if it hits 90 that day. Or he'll just look cool carrying it, I suppose.
Stuck at home bec of covid and wildfire smoke last fall we were kind of going stir crazy one day, so I blasted some music and taught him how to slam dance, lol. Does anyone even do that anymore, or is it usually just a big chaotic moshing free for all? Well, he's prepared either way! He's a strong kid (and already outweighs me by 40+ pounds), so being a responsible parent, I really drilled my mosh pit rules of engagement into him (#1 being, of course, if you see someone fall, grab hold of them & haul them back to their feet RIGHT AWAY.)
Anyway, you guys have been putting out some terrific music recently and HOLY HELL you're great on your instruments - I think I'm looking forward to the show at least as much as my son is.

I follow Trivium since 2004, I've seen them live a lot of times, and they were one of the reason why I've started playing drums. Just to sum up: Alex is a fucking beast. I've never seen anything like this in a live show. I swear it gives me goosebumps.

Saw them at Houston last night. They are so damn good. However, their sound people could have done a little better I think. However x2, in their defense, The Woodlands Pavilion is a pretty terrible sounding venue anyway.
After listening to the audio from Matt’s stream and your live perspective, are the two experiences comparable?
Also have to consider how long its been since everyone has gotten to do this, bands, venue staff, roadies, etc... and how early it still is on this first tour since lockdown. Currently waiting my turn to see them in Auburn, WA 🤘😁 I'll be right in front of the mixboard so I hope they dial it in by then

Trivium is one of the metal bands who actually embrace digital sound and amp/cab sim. Do you see any amp/cab there? No, cause they use Kemper Profiling Amp. Listen how tight, noiseless, and most important, how close is their sound compared to the studio version.
I'm saying this cause some sound engineers and musicians try to force their opinions and actually persuade us that Kemper is trash for live sessions and it's only a home studio solution.

Trivium as a whole have leveled up... Unbelievable. This may be the best they've ever sounded live. Matt's new screaming technique has come so far. This is what happens when a band does nothing but rehearse and write.
