You ever do a tour of Lichfield - back in mid 1970's me and my buds would do Friday night pub crawls - fantastic Marstons, Davenports, Banks, Bass - one pub by the cathederal served Marstons Owd Rodger - mmmm rocket fuel!
Thankyou for coming to the Peel! We’re not a footy pub, just always busy! Hope to see you again soon, Tamworth is only getting better and better for pub life 🍻
Thanks for watching! Keep your eyes peeled for a correction on that because there’s 2 or 3 pubs I’d alter in hindsight! Hard to video and judge accurately when you’ve had a few 😂 but yes I’ll certainly be back to Tamworth because it’s an incredible pub town! Cheers 🍻
Absolutely love your vids mate, absolute quality. Gives me reason to go to towns and cities I wouldn't have thought of otherwise. Love the music you play when scanning the taps too. Keep it up mate, top notch content
well we are now going on a pub crawl round Tam'th between Christmas and new Year! thanks for an excellent video again. Keep up the excellent work and gongrats on 1000 subs!
Just found your channel in amongst the travel, mainly railway, channels that I watch. It's right up my street as now I'm retired one a week I check a railway map and the GBG and go somewhere for the day. In Tamworth (November 2022) I went to the Market Vaults, haven't yet found a Joules pub that isn't traditionally furnished the way a 'proper pub' should be, beers are ok as well, also went to Sir Robert Peel and the music was as loud as you found even though the place was empty. Will be working through the rest of your videos to see where you've been to compare if I have and give me ideas for the future, have subscribed.
Absolutely brilliant video. Thank you so much. I live in Tamworth and wasn't aware of most of the little gems you've featured. Ive been in the Tamworth Tap recently but not any of the others as I didn't even know they existed until I saw your video. So thanks to you and your support team im l now gonna try these new pubs in my home town. Cheers mate. I'll thumbs up and subscribe too. 👍.
Thanks for the Video. We're very lucky in Tamworth to have so many quality pubs. My personal top 3 are the Tap, the Kings Ditch & the Bankhouse. The Robert Peel is a very popular pub & a bit more "lively" than the others but its still a great boozer which I'd give an 8/10.
You certainly are lucky! I’d agree and say they’re my top 3 too and I think SRP should have been a 7 for me on the day! I’ll mention it at the end of the year on the Christmas vid but there’s a couple of corrections I’d like to make. Cheers and thanks for watching 🍻
Ale central! The Tap is my new favourite - my son occasionally drives me there - superb pub. CAMRA multi award winner. The other GBG pubs there are also excellent. 10🌟
Great video. If your down in Winchester you must try "The Black Boy" that for me is the best that Winchester has to offer along with the "Wickham Arms" watching you is as if Im there.
i wish we had a pub culture in the US. bars aren’t a good substitute. maybe some microbreweries come close but many are minimal, uncomfortable, and kinda antiseptic feeling. love dry ciders! and that stout looked perfect. great channel-thanks!
It is a shame, I would agree that we have many microbrewery taps same as the US and you are spot on the beer is good but they are artificial and industrial and they are nothing like a cosy pub to drink in.
That is a shame. I would agree we have microbreweries with taps in the UK the same as the US with great beer, but they are artificial and industrial. They are not welcoming, comfortable and cosy as a Public House should be and as the derivation of the name suggests.
I’m not sure if you Brit’s are aware we have a Tamworth in oz. Tamworth Australia is the home of our country n western festival. Very much outback so a tad different. I would suggest a lad from the town named ours. Cheers!
My hometown! We are not “small” town, we are the largest town in Staffordshire 😂 Tamworth Tap was originally started as brewery but people kept asking the owner if he can open as actual pub with his brewery attached. So he decided to buy the empty building next door and converted into a pub. The rest is history. I am heading to Tamworth Tap later as they have Brew York Christmas ale on (Florentine Milk Stout) I am curious to try it after your recent video.
Sorry it was just a turn of phrase lol, yes much more of a mid to large town! However big it was it’s a brilliant place for pubs! Thanks for watching 🍻
Better not piss off that guy at the first stop. Ya don't know what he is doing to your pint in the back. Ha,ha. Yeah, I like that Moat house as well. Cheers!
I guarantee nothing goes in the glass that shouldn't 😁 Beer is straight from the cask just like at a beer festival, cheers 🍻 There is still a camera that records everything too!
Looks alright Tamworth..I wasn't far away from there on the canal boat but at 3mph it would have took another 2 days. That Market is as long as a footy pitch..I do like a pint of Slumbering Monk..and Joules Pale Ale like u say, easy going sesh. The Tamworth Tap actually beat our own Manx Pub ' The Trafalgar ' into 2nd place..1st time a pub on the IOM has got into Camra Top 4 finalists. Excellent vid once again Ethan🍺👍
I feel like you should be smoking a pipe in some of these historic pubs-or outside, as the law allows. My next trip to the UK will center around pipes/English tobacco and pubs.
Thanks!

Thank you so much for visiting us at moat house, we hope to see you again next year if your around. Take care Kieren

The peel is a bostin pub 🍺
@@Ray-6701not to be biased but I agree 🫡🍻

I've been going in the peel for years, even back when it was hamlets, love the place & slipped down them stairs many times.
Absolutely love your vids mate, absolute quality. Gives me reason to go to towns and cities I wouldn't have thought of otherwise. Love the music you play when scanning the taps too. Keep it up mate, top notch content

Like your style.
I’ve lived in Tamworth for ten years and yet to visit these pubs but I’m planning my own pub crawl next available day 👍👍
Tiny little places. I like those.
😄😍
Love it love british pubs you do a great tour sir
I have no idea why this video popped up in my feed but i am so glad it did, liked & subcribed. Looking forward to more uploads.

Visited the Tamworth tap last summer lovely pub atmospheric and always a dark ale on year round 👍good pub crawl 🍻
Many thanks for the visit and for the mention on the recommendation for the Old Bank House, cheers 🍻.
If you come again I'll make sure I smile 😂
Came across your channel by accident. But wow, a happy accident. Loved the video and your presenting style 👍🏼 have liked and subscribed
Thank you for coming to Tamworth. After living here for 30yrs i never knew the kings Ditch was even a pub. I thought it was a cafe !!i must go in 👍👍
Great video, looks worth a visit for sure!🍻
Thanks! Yes well worth a visit 🍻
We used to hop on the train to Burton for a decent ale in the past, but I now have a 10 minute walk to all these fantastic pubs in my home town.
You’re very lucky in Tamworth! Cheers 🍻
Another great video … I love seeing these amazing uk pubs up close and personal. We don’t have pubs like this in Canada :(
Thanks! Always nice to hear of people over the pond enjoying the videos! 🍻
Ale central! The Tap is my new favourite - my son occasionally drives me there - superb pub. CAMRA multi award winner. The other GBG pubs there are also excellent. 10🌟
The residents of Tamworth are very lucky that’s for sure! 🍻
First stop - Trampagne!
Great vid. I went to most of these pubs a few months back and had a great time. Still need to visit the Moat House, though. Looks bloody impressive!
Great video. If your down in Winchester you must try "The Black Boy" that for me is the best that Winchester has to offer along with the "Wickham Arms" watching you is as if Im there.
Great video from my home town 👍🏻 The Malt House is one of the most haunted places in the UK and features on many TV shows.
i wish we had a pub culture in the US. bars aren’t a good substitute. maybe some microbreweries come

Thanks! Yes we are lucky in the UK with our pubs 🍻
Do a pub crawl in Chester please!
Pub life looks in rude health around there, some great spots. Never been there but do like a Joules pub - grand tour once again 🍻
Thanks, it’s certainly worth a visit… there’s a lot to go at! 🍻
A bit of information I’m in town with all my life and that’s what it’s all about
I’m not sure if you Brit’s are aware we have a Tamworth in oz. Tamworth Australia is the home of our country n western festival. Very much outback so a tad different. I would suggest a lad from the town named ours. Cheers!

Haha yes that’s very true 😂🍻
You used to be able to see your beer being poured on the plasma screen in the bar.
I guarantee nothing goes in the glass that shouldn't 😁 Beer is straight from the cask just like at a beer festival, cheers 🍻
There is still a camera that records everything too!
Who’d have thought North Wales would have a town with so many good pubs?
Where? Check your geography.
It's Tamworth in Staffordshire.
This one isn’t North Wales but I do hope to visit some of Wales soon! Cheers 🍻
@@Ray-6701 Yep that’s close enough to North Wales, both geographically and culturally, for me.
Not many mountains round here pal.
Good job they chose the River Tame and not the other river… the River Anker to base its name upon.
😂🍻
Yep, Tammies not, ......
On one of the episodes of Midsomer Murders, they talk about Tamworth pigs. Need some beer and bacon.
Sadly no bacon but plenty of beers! Cheers 🍻

Cheers Dave, it’s worth a visit if you ever get over! Cheers 🍻
Tamworth isn't a place I'd have considered to visit; but I have now.......
Sad to see so many empty shops on your walk round
Tamworth is undergoing a well needed refurbishment at the moment. Let's hope the shops fill once again afterwards.
I feel like you should be smoking a pipe in some of these historic pubs-or outside, as the law allows. My next trip to the UK will center around pipes/English tobacco and pubs.
Funnily enough I do enjoy a pipe from time to time! Cheers 🍻
The Tamworth Tap looks a fantastic boozer. Cracking looking pint
I thought you were getting a pint in the first pub. It's over an inch from the top. Top it up please
Oversized glasses in the King’s Ditch with a pint line 👍🏻
Normally I’d agree but The Kings Ditch uses oversized glasses! If anything you get more in there vs a usual pub! 🍻
They use oversized pint glasses with a pint line.
Always get a full pint in the Ditch & a good pint at that 👍
The second place clearly doesn't want customers zero signage wood have walked straight past
Yes unfortunately I think the front is heritage protected so they can’t add a sign! Very strange, the only pub I’ve been to like that 🍻
It’s a grade listed building hence minimal signage.
Best pub in Britain?? Don’t make me laugh
It’s been CAMRA National Pub of the Year 2022 and 2023, though it’s not a finalist for 2024. Your criteria might be different.
Must be saturday afternoon cos moathouse is only open friday night and sat afternoon and evening. Closed the rest of the week !
