I find the issues with Jane being underused is that in the previous movies did almost nothing with her so when her using Mjlonir is brought in, there is almost nothing to contrast her with beyond the rather bland love interest from the previous movies.
It really was a mixed bag with what it offered. While it did some good things with it's production like the costume designs, the actors giving good performances with what they had to work with, and implementing new techniques for lighting in some portions, it still suffered due to it missing the great potential that was offered through the source material, a troublesome script that may or may not have been influenced by studio decisions, having an extremely short runtime for what it is (I still question to this day why it HAD to be under 2 hours, it needed at least another half hour imo to feel more fleshed out), and the biggest point that I really wanted to emphasize in this video, greatly missing the core of what made Jane's Thor and Gorr's characters so interesting in the comics. Like I said in the video, I really WANTED to love this film due to how the comics that inspired it are some of my favorite comics of all time, but I just can't due to how the end result turned out
@@MidgardMadness My understanding is that after Endgame there was some behind the scenes issues at Marvel, I have seen other videos go into more details on it.
“Good fun, but greatly disappointing” I feel like that’s the perfect way to describe Amphibia season 3😂. It’s not bad and it has a Lotta good parts but it could’ve been so much more
Exactly, and that's my general consensus on Love and Thunder, it had incredible opportunities to make something awesome with what the source material offered, but just missed out on that potential, especially when it came to Gorr and Jane
At least Amphibia Season 3 well 3A has an understandable reason why it was a mixed bag. Disney sticking their noses where they didn't belong and making then downplay the events of True Colors. And Marcy's Journal could retroactively make it a lot better because the issues are fixable. Thor: Love and Thunder on the other hand has no excuse and nothing can retroactively make it above average.
read marcy's journal a few days back, and it actually did fix a bunch of the issues! it also addressed anne's singular shoe lol. definitely made me love season 3 a lot more than i already did!

Your review sums up greatly the lows and ups of this movie!

This movie had a lot of thunder, but almost no love was put into properly adapting its source material.
I am convinced that most people only saw this movie to see naked Thor and honestly I respect that
