This is one of the most looked over and important mechanic in DK, I'm glad you made a video on it. That split second can mean the difference between the life and death of a trooper. When I watch people play they don't take this into account and then complain when they lose a gunfight, but it's definitly something to take into account. Although it works and is for sure a viable strategy, I don't necesseraly agree with your point about switching to sidearms. I will say this : micro is the price to pay for precision. You can get away with using longer-ish guns and avoid compression by adding two or more commands to the path. The main thing to do remains choosing a shorter gun. There's also a point to be made about dynamic entries and suicide bombers but that's another topic.
Using pointmen with pistols in DK1 was stupidly fast and most maps weren't much more than 25 meters wide in total so precision rarely mattered. You shouldn't have much issue with damage or accuracy in a room size space but beyond that you will start to have problems Frankly using any specialist with a shorter weapon makes them worse at their main job and they are the only ones who are painfully slow so they're the only ones that Id consider it worth switching to a pistol if absolutely necessary
@@tuckergymnest0 Glad you liked the vids! I like the kind of tutorial/guides content RoninFox makes for DK. Always interesting to discuss the subtleties of the game.
when you drow your line for a specific subject. your arrow looks different and your unit moves and looks at your set point of arrow. Did you have any mod been installed?
