How it works is that each of these cinematics come out every 6 months or so and in between them there's new lore, new agents (characters), and alot of other things, these cinematics aren't always lore based and they could just be an agent or map reveal like REVELATION was a reveal for the new map 'lotus' and UNMADE was the trailer for the new agent Deadlock, they do have a lot of lore in between so just watching the cinematics and knowing nothing else can be really confusing
Even then though Unmade is part of the lore for deadlock, Lotus is a very important location for the lore in Valorant and even in the game as to my knowledge it’s the only map where the good guys are the attackers
@@chainsawboy2388 you're thinking of pearl, the good guys are the defenders in the in game lotus, the cinematic was the omega lotus, in game it's alpha, the omega lotus exploded when omega astra unlocked some gateway thing with her artifact in a yt short, we know this because in a voicemail harbor and astra were checking out the wreckage of the omega lotus site, and that there were no radianite signatures. Pearls lore is that the alpha radiants came through a portal that neon powered to the omega earth because they believed there was some kind of weapon, there isn't even an alpha pearl because pearl is only underwater due to climate change and something to do with the first light when the parallel worlds were merged, hence the good guys attacking, because they invaded pearl
I'm just gonna let you know right now that REVELATION and Lotus were the most lore rich updates we had. It shed much more light on the existence of guardians and that Astra and Harbor may be more of "followers" then the actual guardians themselves. Also Lotus quite literally does not exist on Alpha is a pretty big lore drop. Considering it actually is one of the trailers that confirms that Alpha and Omega have different history. Same with Agents having differences to their double Edit: Also UNMADE is huge for the existence of Radivores and their polarizing nature. And Kingdom's shady research
For additional context into who some of these agents are and the locations theyre in, I would recommend watching more cinematics/trailers. Also there's this thing in the cinematics that valorant players joke and know about which is cypher keeps dying in the cinematics, that's why at one point during april fools day, valorant made a video about a new fake (as april fools) game in valorant where cypher takes his revenge Also long story short, there are two worlds (alpha and omega earth), omega earth valorant (valorant is the name of the team) goes to steal alpha's radianite (through spike/bomb) for their life in their earth (in the shattered cinematics, the place was in omega that's why they used portal to go from alpha to omega, that's where killjoy (the one with robotic companions) knew why omega steals their radianite, also the map or place is underwater as seen in the end of that cinematic). that's just a simple overview but there's a whooooole deep lore on valorant, even including each agent's story. All the agents you see have their own agenda but are all part of the same organisation "Valorant". There are two earths, Alpha Earth aka (Our Earth) and Omega Earth the opposition. In game on most maps, you're on Defenders side, you're playing Alpha agents who are trying to stop the Omega agents from detonating the spike and stealing radianite. The reason that our agents questioned if they're still the good guys us cause they realised Omega wasn't stealing their radianite to build weapons but to sustain life on their planet. Also it can be seen that Omega Earth views them as the bad guys hence the comic book store calling them "Alpha Threat". The game isn't a battle royale (it's similar to CSGO) it's a FPS 5v5 game in which the first to win 13 rounds wins the game and if it goes to over time (12-12), it's first to win two rounds over the other team. One team is defense and the other attack. Also could recommend checking out other cinematics for fun cause Valorant has a lot more. Or just watching the agents trailers to learn some of their abilities and lore.
