How do you ride the board on waves without falling? How do you get to the wave when running? So many questions!
Remember when Skimboards were just round pieces of wood.
yup.....2' diameter, 1/4" ply, bottom edges beveled up, varnished or a couple coats of resin, deck rubbed with paraffin wax for traction and skimmed parallel to surf along shallow wash.....started surfing the spring of '60....this was entertainment when surf sucked....my only skateboard was a chunk of 2X4 mounted with one of my little sister's steel roller skates taken apart into front and back wheels.....nailed 'em to bottom of 2X4.....very dangerous; any small crack or pebble would bring ya to a screeching halt.....skinned knees, palms, elbows and broken wrists were common....we called 'em "bunboards" cuz that's where ya usually ended up.....
