  • I was having a problem with my A/C system kicking out freon from the back of the A/C compressor. The vents inside the cab of my truck were also blowing out white fog with the A/C on. After wasting months and over $2500 on worthless mechanics, I was able to fix the problem on my own.

    Good job man and ya I've been there before but for changing my ac expansion valve and mine is under the dash on the classic, I had to take all the heater hoses off to the bunk today and now I'm replacing the heater core tomorrow while I'm replacing them. Like you said if you're already doing all that work and in my case draining all the coolant nows the best time. Keep up the great videos man.

    Man i admire you...im a company driver but its a mom and pop and we basically talk/schedule work with the mechanic ourselves...the boss just gives the green light, but the mechanic has thrown on a new condensor, compressor, dryer, everything..but he keeps denying its my evaporator! I think hes scared of taking that dash out...its frustrating...i get the metal tube going into the cab freezing up and i also get the fog...if i had the right tools, i think i could fix this!

    • @natcoziay
      @natcoziay  Год назад +1

      Yeah the mechanic is being lazy. They don't like taking the dash apart. More than likely that is where your problem is. Good luck to you. It really doesn't take many tools to do it. Trust me, you can do it yourself.

      It could be that or your refrigerant could be low, or your dryer may need to be replaced, could be a leak, etc... it could be a number of things. If you have tried everything except the evaporator and heater coil, then that may be your problem. You will have to explicitly tell your mechanic to change the evaporator coil under the dash because they WILL NOT WANT TO DO IT. They are lazy and the job is labor intense. Unfortunately that is why I had to do mine on my own.

      @@natcoziay The refrigerant was put in April so i'd def have to check bout a leak. And i do know my condenser, evap core, and heater coil hasn't been replaced. Im gonna do everything myself as well, i dont need them giving me "the shaft" in labor lol. Preciate it homie!!

      Thank you for replying 👍 I'm having some weird noises coming out of the A/C system I believe it comes from the evaporator, I thought it was the A/C compressor but it is not, the sound comes every time I turn the A/C on and it sounds like a whale crying in the ocean very weird the sound comes and go every 10 to 15 minutes, but the A/C blows very cold the A/C vents sometimes they get wet from the humidity so I was thinking about replacing the expansion valve before replacing the evaporator, I have replaced the condenser and the a/c air dryer couple of weeks ago but the whale sound still there lol, but thanks again man.

  • @williamreeb7227

    When your a/c compressor goes out standard procedure is to replace the compressor, condenser air receiver dryer and the expansion valves and flush the lines.

    Dam im in the same boat. Im changing my evap coil the pipe leading to the expansion valve by the firewall snapped in half huge leak. Its a $300 part one unit and let me tell you its labor intensive. Still trying to figure how to take it off its a 2022 truck. Im 100% sure the lines snap when you drive over nasty potholes. If you cant find your ac leak anywhere check your firewall leading to the cab. If its leaking there well your out of luck and welcome to the party. Im sure this is at least a $2000 dollar job.

    Why did you tear apart the entire dash? I have a 2015 coronado glider and it's just removing the hvac cover in the cab. Change your blower motor filter and get an evaporator cover gasket from freightliner, part number BOA f7928. Bro, you did way too much work, pop the trim panel in front of the passenger seat, remove screws from the lower hvac panel, exposing the blower motor, you can change your evaporator after removing the air filter housing under the hood etc. We change coronado evaporators every two years, my mind is blown when you showed the entire dash torn apart.

    • @natcoziay
      @natcoziay  9 месяцев назад

      I changed the heater core and evaporator core. Didn't know of any other way to get to those parts without taking the dash apart. The key phrase you used is that you do this every two years. I am not a mechanic and have never claimed to be a mechanic. I'm just a guy doing the best he can. Regardless, I got the job done. Sorry it hurt your feelings for me to take the dash apart. Some people always have to complain about something.
