One thing i'll admit is that I'm honestly very excited for the game. I will not deny that Ubisoft are sometimes scums but I'd be lying if I didn't admit I loved every AC game they made, even Valhalla. I honestly can't wait for Shadows! Great video as usual!
Same dude, I loved every AC, even Odyssey and Valhalla that are some of the most polarizing games in the series and am looking forward to playing Shadows!
The delays are really paying well and the devs really seem to be loving their job... I'll just hope for a bit more delays until summer or maybe even end year so the devs cook it even better!
I'm happy to do my own exploring. Happy to lose the eagle. This is going back to the original games, but adding a little depth. It's looking slick! They made the right move to delay the game to polish it for launch. Hyped.
I agree, removing the eagle makes things harder and more enjoyable, at least for me. The province alert also puts a new focus on stealth, meaning that if we make a mistake and trigger an alarm, we are basically doomed unless it's dealt with!
I am not really against the Viewpoint Sync mechanics, I actually think it's quite immersive and similar to how one would explore in real life without maps - getting on a high point and glance through the points of interests. I think it would be nice if it's somewhat similar to that in Watchdogs 1, you still have access to the map, or in AC's case still foggy in the beginning and you unfog by exploring it, but without syncing viewpoints you don't get to fast travel or do some of the other stuff. (I didn't play Valhalla that much and haven't played Mirage in a while so not sure how it worked in those games). In terms of world design I just hope there's not too much empty space like in Odyssey, just watched your other video regarding city design, tbh I never thought about Odyssey's design discourages parkour as my first impression to it was big and empty
@@TheTrueSeal RDR2's map has a lot of open space but I never felt boring exploring it because of the sheer amount of random encounters, even for earlier games that has forest settings (3, Black Flag, Rogue) because of the potential for tree parkour
Thanks bro! I also expected to see some cities and more challenges/side stuff, especially a bit more from Yasuke :/ regardless, I enjoyed watching those new clips!
Honestly the only thing that comes to my mind after watching the exploration video is "oh, so AC game finally catch up to standard AAA open world game". Like, okay it seems they improve compared to last game, but is it special/unique? Doubt so. I don't really buy on the "navigating the world won't be a breeze and you need planning" though.
I really need to see what's the role these unclimbable terrain and mountains play in Shadows world. If it's anything like Dragon's Dogma 2, which I heavily doubt, it would piss a lot of players off. If it's more like AC3 tho then that's a different story!
I just need everything to be an option. Let me play in the most hardcore mode this game. Hardcore more doesn't mean AI is overpowered and has 10000 life point. It means a smarter AI. AC has always been missing a smart AI. SW Outlaws NPC AI was terrible.
Nothing comes to mind, but since the game is set in the 16th century, we’re unlikely to see as much mythical stuff as in Odyssey or Valhalla; unless we stumble upon Yonaguni, aka the Japanese Atlantis, which would be a whole different story!
@ I swear I remember ages ago they mentioned somthing about mythical stuff we would find randomly like encounters we would get special gear from but can’t find anything’s
I'm worried about can we equip two weapons at the same time. In the demo we can see that Naoe has two weapons, in the last materials they show us tanto, katana and kusarigama seperetly
The main question about exploration: what for? There is no answer yet. Gamers need a reason to explore something, not mechanics. If you need exploration to get another 1000 of wood to upgrade your hideout, gamers will be as angry as always. The only reason for exploration gamers accepts is a part of a story. It should be a high-quality cutscene or dialogue or at least a hand-crafted location that should wow everyone.
Exploration will be part of the story. You will do all of these automatically while you progress.Another point is ofc the beautiful feudal japan setting to explore for fun, well I'll probably do that.
If an open world game doesn’t offer a proper world to explore, then what’s the point of making it open in the first place? They might as well make it linear to avoid wasting players’ time. Getting exploration right is crucial. It should go beyond just collecting items for hideout upgrades. In addition to gameplay upgrades like items, trinkets, and skill points, the world should feature unforgettable vistas, unique challenges not found in the main campaign, parkour courses, and more. At least that’s how I see it.
Does the exploration evolve in Shadows? We have no answer yet. We have an assassination target as always and a hidden supply stash as always. Is that all? If so, it's not an evolution. It's exactly the same exploration as it was in all previous AC games. Most players will ONLY feel the evolution if they are excited. What could excite them? Stories only. Nothing more. Well, some players like the exploration itself. For me personally the best exploration ever is in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. But players like me is not a majority at all. To be successful, this game must satisfy the majority. Exploration must have stories, dialogues, cutscenes that excite gamers. No other way.
@ That’s an interesting take, and I somewhat agree with it. However, I think exploration should feel a bit more hands off to make discoveries feel organic, like something we stumbled upon, not something we were led to find. I get that it’s mostly an illusion of freedom, but that perspective shift makes a world of difference.
Everything else looks good but exploration seems like what they've been doing since origins. Which I'm tired of at this point. Combat and parkour is improved. Would pick this up on a sale.
I think it's really important to make exploration more than a hunt for question marks. Valhalla did things a bit differently, but Shadows is bringing the real change imo!
People have been calling Yotei and Witcher 4 woke because both games are featuring female protagonists, but somehow are perfectly fine with shadows featuring one too. And I doubt they said "The shit we took on ubi for Yasuke was big enough" considering that they're shitting on them with every chance they get.
Trust me they are doing that to Naoe too. It's just that the stuff they say about Yasuke is just way worse... If you want my opinion, just don't take them too seriously. I'm personally really excited for both The Witcher 4 and Ghost of Yotei and will definitely play and possibly cover them on the channel too.
Its amazing Ubisoft shows no respect to Japanese people and its history. UBI has studio in Japan but they arent even involved in this game and Ubi lied about hiring Japanese historians. Most of them arent even Japanese and arent even actual historians in Japanese history. The Kazuma Hashimoto got exposed for not even being Japanese, he is the Japanese Rachael Dolozel.
Naoe: Uses grapple to quickly climb up to viewpoints.
Yasuke: "So....many...stairs...."
I find this comment soo funny 😂
lmaoooo 😭

just saw you on x, great video btw

Yeah I hope the map is detailed as well. We need more handcrafted stuff in the map and less bloat or empty spots.

All the haters are going to hate the fact this game is going to do very well 😂
Yep :D
This looks and plays better then ghost I HATED GHOST IT WAS SO BORING
Your voice is so cool and very soothing it makes me want to actually listen to you more!
Hey, thanks a lot! Honestly, I'm really glad to hear that!
Great video my friend! 👍🏻
The exploration article was good, but I wanted to see more gameplay from different provinces in Shadows.

This. I cannot state how much I agree with you!
Exactly, I want a rivalry AI that can spot me on seen and kill me with numbers, don't want a punch bag for once!
Can't wait to play it!!
Same!!!
Can’t wait to see more on the 23rd
Same!
Looks like they are mixing rpg and stealth elements. Exploration looks fresh, i just hope ubisoft doesnt messup in the classic ubisoft fashion
Same! Let's hope the final product delivers!
Is the game gonna have mythical creatures like in the last few games

Tanto and hidden blade can be used at the same time, however we still don't know whether this is the case with other weapons or not!
Biggest AC hater here. Not gonna lie shit actually looks good. I'll pick it up in a few years when it's $10 including dlc
I love the fact that despite hating the franchise you're actually respecting the game!
