The irony is that, seemingly every day, she does something that doesn't just discredit herself, but also the Republican Party. I'm a conservative Democrat. Which, these days I guess, makes me a Communist since I believe we should all work together to fund things like roads, and schools, and cops while recognizing the principle that all people are created equal. I will assume your question is in good faith and do my best to answer you. First, Boebert made these statements on the House floor before the vote to censure Paul Gosar. The hearing had nothing to do with Omar. Because Boebert could not legitimately defend Gosar, she attempted to shift the focus to someone else. We have seen a rise in this sort of non-sequitur arguing since, oh, the 2016 presidential campaign. When an individual is unable to defend himself (or herself), he points to a third party and says, "What about him?!" In this case, Boebert deployed this strategy as a way to "defend" a member of her party, but said nothing substantial to address the issue at hand. Boebert calls Omar a member of the "Jihad Squad." This statement is nothing more than bigotry, designed to provoke outrage. It fails to even rise to the level of a false accusation of impropriety--it's plain old racism. Boebert chose that language--"jihad"--specifically because it is shameful, but Boebert, herself, has no shame. As Mr. Clark elegantly noted, one of Boebert's chief fundraising strategies is to use bigoted language to whip up support from her base. When the media calls her out on her disgraceful behavior she can point to that behavior as an example of "owning the libs." This is old-fashioned trolling. It is unfortunately an effective fundraising strategy, but lowers the bar for civil discourse. Boebert says Omar paid "her husband, and not her brother-husband..." This is a two-fer. Omar's campaign had a contract with eStreet Group, a political consulting firm, and paid that firm for services, including advertising, campaign mailings, consulting, and travel, according to campaign records. In March of 2020, Omar married Tim Mynett, who co-founded eStreet Group. In order to eliminate any concerns of impropriety, Omar terminated the contract with eStreet Group and committed to not using them for any future campaigns. Boebert insinuated something improper took place without any evidence to suggest that was the case. Regarding the claim that Omar has a "brother-husband," both the Associated Press and the Minneapolis Star-Tribune conducted investigations into Omar's previous marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. Kevin Diaz, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune politics editor, said that his interest into Omar's previous marriages stemmed from accusations of improper tax filings. Their investigation found no conclusive evidence either way, but stated the only evidence of Omar being married to her brother were some since-deleted social media posts. Diaz told PolitiFact, "As far as I can tell, it's really only social media posts. It seemed clear that there is some kind of personal relationship between Omar and Elmi. But whether they are family or not, we can't tell. We weren't able to come close to determining whether that was the truth. And frankly, we were wary of drawing any conclusions." When a person makes a claim, the onus of substantiating that claim falls to them, because it is often much more difficult to disprove something that is untrue. For example, prove to me you don't have a brother named Rumpelstiltskin. Boebert used ambiguity around this issue as if it is certain fact, again, in the interest of being outrageous and engaging in racist, Islamophobic tropes. It is common for non-Democratic countries to not have the same record-keeping capacity as, for example, the United States. It may be impossible, therefore, for Omar to disprove this claim, but I wouldn't fault her for simply refusing to address it. As for Boebert's claim that Omar "prais[ed] terrorists," I can only imagine what she means. Donald Trump falsely claimed that Omar said, “‘When I think of al Qaeda, I can hold my chest out,'” and that she has praised al Qaeda. Factcheck.org called Trump's claims false and said there is no evidence Omar ever said anything in support of al Qaeda or terrorism. She specifically denounced al-Shabab, a Somali Islamist militant group that declared its allegiance to al Qaeda in 2012. Omar has reflected on the phenomenon of individual Muslims being asked to answer for every act of terrorism committed by Muslim terrorist groups, when we do not ask individual Americans to respond to every incident of domestic terrorism. When there is a mass shooting, do your neighbors ask you to denounce American terrorism? Omar faced controversy in June of this year for tweeting "We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban. I asked @SecBlinken [Secretary of State Antony Blinken] where people are supposed to go for justice." Her question was asked in response to U.S. opposition toward the International Criminal Court, and on behalf of those affected by violence in Israel and Palestine. A group of 12 Democrats denounced Omar's statement, saying, "The United States and Israel are imperfect and, like all democracies, at times deserving of critique, but false equivalencies give cover to terrorist groups." Omar clarified that she was speaking specifically about ICC cases and not suggesting that Hamas or the Taliban are the equivalent to the U.S. or Israel. She responded, "I was in no way equating terrorist organizations with democratic countries with well-established judicial systems." I am not suggesting Ilhan Omar (or any politician) is perfect. But these are the facts: Ilhan Omar does not belong to any group that identifies as the "Jihad Squad," nor does she support terrorism. It's unbelievable that I have to write this, or that she has to keep saying it. Her campaign used the services of a consulting firm co-owned by a man she eventually married, and she has terminated the contract with that firm to avoid even the appearance of impropriety despite no evidence of impropriety. There is no conclusive evidence that Omar was ever married to anyone in her family, merely some out of context social media posts. Omar has never praised terrorism or terrorists, but has made an effort to defend Muslims who are associated with terrorism simply by virtue of sharing the same faith. Boebert used bigotry, whataboutism, insinuation, distortions of truth and falsehoods to attack another member of Congress. If Boebert were capable of shame, she ought to be ashamed.

The irony is that, seemingly every day, she does something that doesn't just discredit herself, but also the Republican Party. I'm a conservative Democrat. Which, these days I guess, makes me a Communist since I believe we should all work together to fund things like roads, and schools, and cops while recognizing the principle that all people are created equal. I do have my "liberal" blindspots. It used to be that my Republican friends could be counted on to catch those and point them out to me. But that's no longer true. What do you do, in a debate, when your debate partner goes insane? Because that's where the GOP is right now. They're nuts. Which puts me, a Democrat, in the position of having to argue the conservative side of every public policy argument. I mean, I'll do it. Somebody has to. It's just that I'm really not that good at it.

I will assume your question is in good faith and do my best to answer you.
First, Boebert made these statements on the House floor before the vote to censure Paul Gosar. The hearing had nothing to do with Omar. Because Boebert could not legitimately defend Gosar, she attempted to shift the focus to someone else. We have seen a rise in this sort of non-sequitur arguing since, oh, the 2016 presidential campaign. When an individual is unable to defend himself (or herself), he points to a third party and says, "What about him?!" In this case, Boebert deployed this strategy as a way to "defend" a member of her party, but said nothing substantial to address the issue at hand.
Boebert calls Omar a member of the "Jihad Squad." This statement is nothing more than bigotry, designed to provoke outrage. It fails to even rise to the level of a false accusation of impropriety--it's plain old racism. Boebert chose that language--"jihad"--specifically because it is shameful, but Boebert, herself, has no shame. As Mr. Clark elegantly noted, one of Boebert's chief fundraising strategies is to use bigoted language to whip up support from her base. When the media calls her out on her disgraceful behavior she can point to that behavior as an example of "owning the libs." This is old-fashioned trolling. It is unfortunately an effective fundraising strategy, but lowers the bar for civil discourse.
Boebert says Omar paid "her husband, and not her brother-husband..." This is a two-fer. Omar's campaign had a contract with eStreet Group, a political consulting firm, and paid that firm for services, including advertising, campaign mailings, consulting, and travel, according to campaign records. In March of 2020, Omar married Tim Mynett, who co-founded eStreet Group. The Washington Post noted that:
"Federal laws allow candidates to use campaign funds to pay family and friends, as long as the money is used for a legitimate campaign expense and paid at fair market value.
'Generally, the rationale is, as long as they’re doing real work, you can pay them as you’d pay anyone else. You can’t overpay them. It can’t be a no-show job or a low-show job. You have to actually do the work,' said Daniel Petalas, formerly the FEC’s acting general counsel and head of enforcement."
In order to eliminate any concerns of impropriety, Omar terminated the contract with eStreet Group and committed to not using them for any future campaigns. Boebert insinuated something improper took place without any evidence to suggest that was the case.
Regarding the claim that Omar has a "brother-husband," both the Associated Press and the Minneapolis Star-Tribune conducted investigations into Omar's previous marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. Kevin Diaz, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune politics editor, said that his interest into Omar's previous marriages stemmed from accusations of improper tax filings. Their investigation found no conclusive evidence either way, but stated the only evidence of Omar being married to her brother were some since-deleted social media posts. Diaz told PolitiFact, "As far as I can tell, it's really only social media posts. It seemed clear that there is some kind of personal relationship between Omar and Elmi. But whether they are family or not, we can't tell. We weren't able to come close to determining whether that was the truth. And frankly, we were wary of drawing any conclusions."
When a person makes a claim, the onus of substantiating that claim falls to them, because it is often much more difficult to disprove something that is untrue. For example, prove to me you don't have a brother named Rumpelstiltskin. Boebert used ambiguity around this issue as if it is certain fact, again, in the interest of being outrageous and engaging in racist, Islamophobic tropes. It is common for non-Democratic countries to not have the same record-keeping capacity as, for example, the United States. It may be impossible, therefore, for Omar to disprove this claim, but I wouldn't fault her for simply refusing to address it.
As for Boebert's claim that Omar "prais[ed] terrorists," I can only imagine what she means. Donald Trump falsely claimed that Omar said, “‘When I think of al Qaeda, I can hold my chest out,'” and that she has praised al Qaeda. Factcheck.org called Trump's claims false and said there is no evidence Omar ever said anything in support of al Qaeda or terrorism. She specifically denounced al-Shabab, a Somali Islamist militant group that declared its allegiance to al Qaeda in 2012. Omar has reflected on the phenomenon of individual Muslims being asked to answer for every act of terrorism committed by Muslim terrorist groups, when we do not ask individual Americans to respond to every incident of domestic terrorism. When there is a mass shooting, do your neighbors ask you to denounce American terrorism?
Omar faced controversy in June of this year for tweeting "We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban. I asked @SecBlinken [Secretary of State Antony Blinken] where people are supposed to go for justice." Her question was asked in response to U.S. opposition toward the International Criminal Court, and on behalf of those affected by violence in Israel and Palestine. A group of 12 Democrats denounced Omar's statement, saying, "The United States and Israel are imperfect and, like all democracies, at times deserving of critique, but false equivalencies give cover to terrorist groups." Omar clarified that she was speaking specifically about ICC cases and not suggesting that Hamas or the Taliban are the equivalent to the U.S. or Israel. She responded, "I was in no way equating terrorist organizations with democratic countries with well-established judicial systems."
I am not suggesting Ilhan Omar (or any politician) is perfect. But these are the facts: Ilhan Omar does not belong to any group that identifies as the "Jihad Squad," nor does she support terrorism. It's unbelievable that I have to write this, or that she has to keep saying it. Her campaign used the services of a consulting firm co-owned by a man she eventually married, and she has terminated the contract with that firm to avoid even the appearance of impropriety despite no evidence of impropriety. There is no conclusive evidence that Omar was ever married to anyone in her family, merely some out of context social media posts. Omar has never praised terrorism or terrorists, but has made an effort to defend Muslims who are associated with terrorism simply by virtue of sharing the same faith.
Boebert used bigotry, whataboutism, insinuation, distortions of truth and falsehoods to attack another member of Congress. If Boebert were capable of shame, she ought to be ashamed.
